Kiss of A Titan
Chapter 36

"..... And now, for the Titans, Rosalie Thomason, a first time swimmer will join the other contestants for the butterfly women stroke swimming event. It's her first appearance on a summer game like Emily Watson on the side of the Denver team, so, give a round of applause for them as they join the others at the swimming pool", The home fans along with those invited applauded and whistled wildly immediately after the commentary was made to welcome the contestants to the swimming arena. I trailed behind the girl from Denver whose name was also mentioned in the commentary to queue with my opponents at the edge of the swimming pool that was appeared ten times broader than the shallow pool I learnt how to swim as a rookie in spite of the fact that the water was intently separated on four rows for each contestants and I was left to position myself in the third row beside the other swimmers.

The next minute I could hear the umpire counting out figures for the qualified contestants to get started and the three opponents had to bend down beside to pool for a first time launch into the water when he got to the second count but strangely, profound dread overshadowed me completely to the point that I couldn't move my leg. It was then that the inevitable happened. I was already having the same traumatic experience the first time I came near a pool before the umpire could arrive at the last count. At once, everyone else including the umpire knew that there was something wrong with me when I refused to go along with the usual routine meant to be done before making a first dive. The noise around me had seized buzzing in my ears and I was spellbound by the trauma to the point that I couldn't hear what the umpire was saying to me when he tried to rescue me from daydreaming in front of everyone staring at me in confusion as though a pandemonium was about to break out.

"..... There seem to be something wrong with the rookie Titan contestant and the umpire is having a hard time finding what's wrong with her", "Mark, from the look of things, don't you think she's just afraid of jumping into the water?", Mark's commentary partner replied with a question.

"Most likely", "Perhaps the coach was too naïve to choose a first timer",

"Judging from what the situation look like, that could be correct, Mitchelle",

“I'm positive Principal Harry is already angry with the coach based on the circumstances involve”, “He should hurry to get his athlete back in the right shape before the audience gets more apprehensive of the situation", "And I think someone from the Titan's bench is doing that right now", The third commentator, who had been silently watching the game ever since, commented his opinion.

"Who is he? Is he the coach or......?", "No, it's not him! I think he's the same athlete who came first in the men's swimming game", "You mean the star of the Titan team, Richard Jefferson?", "Yeah.....", "What about Coach Robbins? Why hasn't he responded yet?", Mark queried vehemently as the incident kept unfolding in front of them.

"I guess he must be as shock as everyone else's", "Shockingly, the umpire has left both of them to talk and......what the hell?!", Mark cursed with his voice resounding loud in the sound system which echoed in the entire hall. The actual cause of his loud scream was the fact that Richard had planted on my lips a mind-blowing kiss right in front of everyone and the other opponents that were appalled like every spectator watching him giving me a kiss on the lips when I failed to respond to him as well.

If it were a fantasy harem, there would have been a rippling gust of wind that would have hit everybody particularly the audience after he kissed me but in actual reality, apart from the two of us, everyone was shell-shocked to the marrow on their seat when they clearly saw what happened and found what Richard did highly incredible and bewitching.

Even the judges stunningly peered at the situation with mixed feelings. Amongst the cheerleaders who were also sitting in the horrified crowd, Lori was not only aghast like her teammates but deeply hurt by the coarse scenario. It took quite a lot of breathtaking moments for everyone to recover from the shock, especially Coach Robbins who was the first to wake up from the trance whilst Mark and the other commentators took enough time to get their speeches working again. It was only after Coach Robbins had pulled Richard back to the bench that the tense situation was ending briefly that everything slowly went back the way it was before.

Although people were still surprised and shock at the scandal that took place, the judges beckoned on the umpire to continue the event and embarrassed as the whole team was, I joined the other contestant to swim regardless of how I felt during the aftermath though I was confident enough to arrive at third place at the end of the event.
