Legend Of The Moon Princess -
Episode 11
“What do you mean taste? I don’t want a vampire to bite me.” Prince Luca glared at me. Mel came to my side and stared at the prince. “His name is Anthony, Luca. He is not like other vampires. He also is a very talented botanist.” That is true. Shainna and Sabrina had shared so much about what plants and herbs they use in their potions and spells that I found an interest to learn more. I know about a lot of plants that are harmful to supernatural creatures. Like how wolfsbane can affect other creatures like it does werewolves, if they were given the right dosage. Like if you compared how wolfsbane affects werewolves to vampires… werewolves that only need a few drops of to weakened them, a vampire would need about a cup or two for it to start having an effect on us.
Since living in the Raven Moon pack and studying under Sabrina and Shianna, I can get a hint of what plants could be inside of any creature when I smell their b***d, but the only way for me to be 100% sure is to taste their b***d.
“Well I am sorry, Melody. But I am not comfortable with a vampire feeding off me.” Prince Luca said. Mel growled. “If you want to find out how to get your wolf back, then let Anthony help you. Otherwise why be here. If you don’t trust us to help you, then you are free to leave and go back to the Royal Moon pack lands.” I saw a flash of hurt in his eyes. ‘What? Louis, do you think he?’ ‘Yes. He seems drawn to the princess. Wolf or no wolf, he is attracted to her.’ he said. I looked at Mel and saw the same attraction and hurt in her eyes. They could be mates and just not know it because of his wolf being sealed.
Everyone looked to Prince Luca to see what he would do. “Um. if me biting you is what you hate the most, your highness. Just cut your palm and bleed into a small cup. I don’t need much to know what is in your system.” I said, trying to make it easy for everyone. Though going off the smell alone, I was not looking forward to the taste. He nodded and grabbed a small clean cup from the table.
Sabrina handed over her small dagger to him and he cut into his palm, letting some of his b***d spill into the cup. With a bigger cut now, the smell intensified. I wanted to run out of the room, but this was important. Not just for the werewolf kingdom, but for Mel. Since she saved my life, my vampire and I had vowed that we would move heaven and earth for her. If something was important to her, then it was important to us.
“Is this enough?” a voice brought me back out of my thoughts. I looked at the cup that Carter was holding out to me, while Zezar used some magic to heal the prince’s hand. “Yes.” I said as I took the cup. I took a deep breath. ‘Ready Louis?’ he grunts. ‘Not really, but this is for our princess.’ he grumbled. I held the cup up to my lips and tipped it back, allowing the red liquid to flow into my mouth.
I wanted to gag and throw up. The taste was horrible. Coating my tongue like cough syrup would. It tasted rotten and bitter. Like someone was forcing nothing but rotten food down my throat. I dropped the cup, allowing it to shatter on the floor and dropped to my knees. Coughing and grabbing my throat. I felt like I couldn’t breathe.
After what seemed like forever I was panting and catching my breath. My mind was running fast and analysing the taste of the b***d. Whoever made this elixir used black magic. That was what gave it the rotten smell and taste, but I could still make out the plants that were used. It is a good thing that he hasn’t made contact with his wolf or shifted. This combination would have killed him otherwise. “Anthony?” Mel’s gentle voice reached my ears. I looked at her, then shifted my eyes to the prince.
“If Mel can sense your wolf he is still alive, but it is a goddess mericle. The elixir was made from not only a combination of plants that are harmful to werewolves, but they were combined with dark magic.” I said. The prince’s eyes went wide, while Shianna and Sabrina were thinking hard about what I said. “But how could that be? Wouldn’t his human side be weak as well?” Brandon asked. I shook my head. “No, I think because of the dark magic it was targeted only to his wolf side. Plus since he never made contact or shifted his wolf and human senses never merged like they were supposed to.” I said.
“True. When a werewolf has made contact with their wolf on their 18th birthday, their congested minds are forever linked.” Sabrina said. “And when they first shift their body’s senses like sight, taste, smell, along with their strength is amplified.” Rico said. “So doing something like this before he shifted and all that was to kill off his wolf, but keep him alive?” Carter asked. “Yes, but I think they miscalculated on the dosage. If he was a normal wolf, then his wolf would have been dead a long time ago.” I said.
“So being not only an alpha, but a royal alpha, they would have had to give him a larger dose to successfully kill his wolf the first time.” Mel asked. I nodded. “Anthony, do you think you could make something to help him?” Aunt Jess asked. I rubbed the back of my neck. “I can make an antidote for the plants, but since it has been so long we will need to be cautious about this.” I answered honestly. “What would we need to do?” Alpha Leo asked.
I thought about all that we had at our disposal right now. “For starters, I think Prince Luca should do more meditation and stamina training. Since he never shifted the toll on his body would be more than it would be for a normal alpha.” They all nodded. “Then during the next full moon two weeks from now. He will need to drink the elixir I make, but it will need to be enchanted by either Sabrina or Shianna. That would expel the dark magic and the toxins from his system.” I looked at Shianna and Sabrina. They both smiled at me and nodded their heads.
“Finally, before the normal pack run we need to invoke the connection and the shift. With 6 alphas here, I don’t think even a royal alpha could resist the command from so many if done in one shot.” “Wait a minute. 6 alphas? There are only 5 other than Luca here.” Carter said. It got so quiet that you could hear a pin drop. A shiver ran down my spine as I felt a strong aura fill the room. Not out of hate or anything, but Artemis demands respect, like any alpha would. Melody’s eyes began to glow a vibrant blue, showing that Artemis was surfacing. “The sixth alpha is Melody and Artemis.” I said as I bared my neck in submission to the powerful wolf next to me. “A female alpha.” I heard Zezar say in awe.
Female alphas were very very rare. It was not uncommon for alphas to have daughters, but their wolves were never as strong or as big as alphas. A true alpha female is a daughter of an alpha, or in our case alphas, with a wolf as strong as an alpha. I have seen Artemis fight and it is a wonder to see, but it also puts a target on her back. One of the reasons Alpha Leo really never wants her to leave the pack lands, even to search for her mate. There are many that would try to use her for her strength and power, or kill her to be rid of a serious threat.
I felt the aura lighten and slowly looked up towards Melody. Her eyes were no longer glowing, but she kept her head held high. “Now that we know what to do, let’s get to it.” She said with a smirk. “Yes Alpha!” We cried out, and by we… I ment Mel’s brothers, Mike, Lilly, Oliver, and myself. If Shianna and Rico’s boys were here then they would have done it too. It was our own inside joke. “Well I will go get some energy elixirs ready for Prince Luca.” I said. He gave me a look like saying he wouldn’t need them. I just smiled. ‘Oh you silly little wolf.’ Louis snarked in my mind, making my smile grow more as I left the room.
