A month later…

I am blindfolded once again and in the backseat of the car as Drake drives. “Guys, if we are just going to our new pack house… why do I have to wear a blindfold?” I asked. Leaning my head onto Luca’s shoulder. His scent relaxing me as I wait until they take this blindfold off. “Because baby, we want this to be a good surprise. I know you will love the new pack house once you see it.” Jeremiah said from the front. ‘I would be happy with a big plain white house for all I care. I just want something that we can call ours and raise our pups where they would have all the free space to run around to their heart’s content.’ Artemis said in my head. ‘Yeah, a penthouse in the city really doesn’t scream family of shifters.’ I replied back to her.

After another hour in the car, they finally stop. Luca lifted me up into his arms and slid out of the car. I giggled as I wrapped my arms around his neck. He walked a few feet away before he set me down on the ground. I could smell the fresh mountain air and hear birds chirping. “Ready to see our new home, little mate?” Drake asked. I felt him take my left hand. Jeremiah took my right hand and Luca’s hand rested on my waist. I was bouncing in my shoes. “Yes, come on. I wanna see it.” I said excitedly. I hear my three mates chuckle at my excitement, but come on… who could blame me. All three of them have been secretive about our new pack house since we got home from Edolas. One of them gently tugs on my blindfold, taking it off my eyes. I have to blink a few times for my eyes to adjust to the light. Thankfully we were under a shady tree so I wasn’t in the direct sunlight.

I looked at the structure in front of me and gasped. It was beautiful. It was a ginormous log cabin style mansion. The first thing I noticed was the coloring of the wood. It was an ombragé going from west to east (left to right.) dark wood to light wood. On each side of the house were two giants carved into it. On the eastern side of the cabin, where the color was the lightest, the giant was holding up the sun with a dragon curled around it. On the western side, where the color was the darkest, the giant on that side was holding up the full moon with a wolf lifting its head and howling. In between the two giants, from the knees down, there were all kinds of creatures carved into the wood. There were wolves, bears, bats, fairies, tigers, humans, and so one. They were all designed so that they were interacting with one another in different ways. In the top center of the house there was a wired symbol I had never seen before in between a bear and a wolf circling around it.

I looked between my mates with tears in my eyes. They all just smiled at me. “Since you already bring werewolves, werebears, and vampires a bit closer together there is something to represent all of us.” Luca said. “The symbol in between the bear and wolf is the crest of a school a friend of mine created to try and allow humans and vampires to co-exist.” Jeremiah said. I looked at him in confusion. “What school?” I asked. “Cross Academy.” He said with a smile. “All of the other carvings were to bring a little bit of Edolas back with us.” Drake said. “Yeah, we noticed how much you loved the mountain side carvings that were right behind Jasmine’s village.” Luca said. I started crying tears of happiness with a big smile. “I love it and it fits us very well.” I told my mates They all beamed with pride and happiness.

“It is eight stories high.” Drake said. “EIGHT?! Why is it so big?” I asked. “Well the first and second floors are common areas. For any pack members to come and go and use when they need.” Jeremiah said. “Yeah like a theater, gym, spa, lounge, gaming room, and even a giant pool.” Luca said excitedly. I giggled at how excited he is about explaining our new home to me. “The third and fourth are nothing but apartments for couples or small families that wish to live in the pack house. Star and Jessie will be getting with those that want their own cabins on the territory so we can build them houses.” Drake explained further.

“The fifth floor has offices and conference rooms for when pack members need to work from home for any reason. We are also trying to get a new office building built in the nearby city, but the offices will still be available even after that happens.” Jeremiah said. I nodded. My mates have really thought long about how to design our pack house to not only make it comfortable for us, but for the members that will be living here. They are the sweetest men ever. “The sixth floor is full of guest rooms. So that whenever we hold an event and have visiting alphas or family over. They will have their own space at the pack house.” Luca said. “Unless they want to have their own cabin in our territory too.” Jeremiah added.

“The seventh floor is the gamma and beta floor, so that is where Jessie, Star, Carter, Ren, Zezar, Tobias, Kai, and Riley will be living.” Drake said. “What about Robert and Anna?” I asked Jeremiah. Robert was not only his brother in law, but the closest thing to a beta that his vampire clan had. “He and Anna want to have a cabin built near the pack hospital. So the girls have room to grow and Anna is close by in case anyone needs her at the hospital.” Jeremiah said. “Ah, okay. So does that mean the eighth and final floor is ours?” I said with a smirk. “Yes.” Jeremiah said. “For us and all the young ones you will have for us.” Drake added, kissing my hand.

I smiled at the thought of little ones running all around. Then out of nowhere, I felt extremely hot and doubled over with pain in my lower abdomen. Luca caught me and gently lowered me to the ground so I was on my knees. “What is wrong, baby!?” “Melody?!” “What is happening?!” They all started to speak at once. ‘Artemis… is it-’ I could barely ask before I was hit with another wave of pain. ‘Yes… our heat has started.’ She whimpered in pain.
