Third Person POV

(This next section is going to be what they see in the past. The ones from Melody’s group that are seeing this event are… Melody, Ethan, Terrance, Jess, Leo, Zero, Hero, Drake, Jeremiah, Luca, Tobias, Tony, Tucker, Riley, and Kai)

“Hard!? You have no idea how hard it is for us, Belialuin!” Artemis roared. “Jasmine has been suffering in purgatory for the last year, and there is no way of actually knowing if she is alive or not?” Artemis, Thor, and Apollo are fuming as they stand in front of Lady Belialuin. “And what do you mean a way to safely bring her back? Does that mean that you have already found some other kind of method right now?” Thor asked. Lady Belialuin couldn’t meet their gaze. There was a method they found to bring Jasmine back from purgatory, but the cost was too great. Lady Belialuin knew that Jasmine would be devastated if she was to return for that price.

“Come on, we want answers and we want them now!” Apollo roared. Lady Belialuin sighed and nodded her head. “Yes we have found one way, but the price to pay is too great. Jasmine would never accept it if we were to bring her back in that way.” Lady Belialuin stressed out. Hoping that the three in front of her would not attempt what she felt they were thinking. Lady Belialuim was worried to answer any more questions about the method they had found. She knew that the three of them felt as if they each owed Jasmine a lifelong debt for how she had helped them in the past. Even if Lady Belialuin can feel the same emotions as normal mortals, she can not intervene in the choices of mortals. It is her duty to be the bridge between the divine and the mortal realms.

“Well, what is this method that you have found recently?” Artemis asked. Lady Belialuin sighed. She knew they would try it. She saw it in their fate. Unknown to her mortal friends and to Melody and the others watching… Lady Belialuin had the ability to see into the future of a mortal’s life, more specifically… their death. Lady Belialuin saw that these three were going to die bringing their friend home.

“It is a spell that opens up the door to purgatory on the night of a lunar eclipse, but the price is a hefty one. We would need someone with similar powers to Jasmine and one that is pure of heart.” She said to the three of them. “Then the three of us would be perfect for opening up the gates of purgatory. Apollo and Thor are both evenly matched with fire and lighting like Jasmine is.” Artemis said. “Yeah and Artemis is very pure of heart. She helps lots of people, even when they still scorn her very existence.” Apollo added. Lady Belialuin nodded. “Yes, you three were the first to come to our minds, but it would mean that the three of you would be sent into purgatory in place of Jasmine. Jasmine is half dragon, so the effect of time in purgatory would not kill her and she is too strong willed to let the monsters in that world kill her. The three of you are only gifted humans, you would not survive a day.” She stressed out the end.

Artemis, Thor, and Apollo all looked at each other. None of them needed to say a word. They may be mere humans with special powers, but Jasmine was the only reason for them surviving in their world for so long. “You know that wouldn’t matter to us. Jasmine saved our lives. We all would have died years ago if it wasn’t for her.” Apollo said. Thor nodded. “Yes. Jasmine saved me from that terrible lighting storm years ago. She gave me shelter, cared for my wounds, and trained me on how to use my magic. She never once thought of me as a monster like my own family did.” Thor said, clenching his hands into fists. “Jasmine gave all of us a home where we were loved and cared for. Even if none of us were related by b***d, we were all a family. Parker and the others are just as lost without her here.” Artemis said.

From where they were watching… Melody, Ethan, and Terrance felt a strong emotion coming from their wolves. Melody used her gift to link their minds together. ‘The three of you really cared for Jasmine a lot, huh?’ Melody asked all three of them. Without hesitating the three of them nodded in unison. ‘Yes, and we would do it over and over again if needed.’ Apollo said. ‘After we died in purgatory, Mother Selene collected our souls and brought us to her realm. She was so moved by our loyalty and devotion to our friend, that she gave us a choice.’ Thor said. ‘What choice was that?’ Terrance asked. ‘That we could either go to the afterlife peacefully or that we can be reborn as her children of the moon.’ Artemis said. ‘Children of the moon… you mean wolves?’ Melody asked in clarification.

‘Yes. We decided to become wolves so that we can aid our humans the same way Jasmine had aided us in the past.’ Apollo said. ‘Mother Selene was very wise to give us to the three of you. Even when we were humans like you in Edolas, I always thought of Apollo and Thor as my goofy big brothers.’ Artemis said to lighten the blow of the information they just received. Melody smiled, but Terrance and Ethan frowned a bit. ‘What is wrong?’ Thor asked them. ‘So do we feel this attraction to Jasmine, because she was supposed to be the mate to both of you?’ Terrance asked. Both Apollo and Thor shook their heads.

‘No. Honestly, we saw Jasmine as a sister back then, but she was still only 14 when we last saw her.’ Apollo said. ‘Yeah. Mother Selene would only make the two of you her mates if that is what she saw would be best for you. Not us.’ Thor said. Artemis nodded in agreement. ‘The mate for beast humans in Edolas and supernaturals in our world are one and the same. Mother Selene would make matches based on the human side of her children. Since they are the ones in control most of the time.’ Artemis said. Terrance and Ethan didn’t seem that they were not 100% convinced, but they would have to figure it out more for when they actually met Jasmine face to face back in the future. The three of them cut the link and continued watching the events of the past.

“The lunar eclipse is tonight, so help us get everything we need for the spell, please Belialuin.” Artemis asked. Lady Belialuin knew that she could not change their fate or their minds. She nodded her head. “And don’t tell Kayla or the others… They would just try to stop us.” Thor said. Again Lady Belialuin nodded her head. For the rest of the day, the four of them got everything prepared and ready for the spell. Artemis had placed a bunch of paper all around the area. Melody walked up to one. ‘What is this?’ She asked her wolf. ‘They are talismans that created a barrier around us. We couldn’t let anyone intervene with the ritual, so I placed it to not allow any living creature to pass through until my last breath.’ she replied.

The moon was shining brightly down on the crystal altar that had weird symbols carved into it. “What are those symbols for?” Terrance asked, looking at Yang. That is the magic circle that will allow the gates of purgatory to open, once the rest of the requirements were met.” She answered, not looking away from Apollo and Thor on the altar. Everyone noticed when the ceremony was starting because the moonlight took a red glow to it. They looked up and saw that the full moon in the sky started to take a red glow to its normal shine. Within a few minutes, the whole area had been cased in a deep red tint. Then Yin and Yang laid down.

Before anyone could ask them what was wrong they heard shouting. Everyone snapped their heads to the giant crystal door in the back of the room. The past versions of Kalya and Natalia came bursting through with some other people. Tucker gasped when he saw a man around his age with bright red hair and silver eyes. Both characteristics reminded him of his grandparents that his mother, Shianna, had to help Luna Jess and the triplet alphas kill because they had become something unnatural and corrupted. There was also a woman with light blonde hair that was colored blue. She also had sweet baby blue eyes. There was a giant girl that had black hair in a ponytail and big brown eyes. A man that was flying around with no wings. He had shaggy blonde hair and golden eyes.

They each ran into the barrier that Artemis had set up. “Artemis! Apollo! Thor!” Young Natalia called out to them. “You three better stop this, or I’ll kick your asses!” Past Kayla spat, as she continued to slam her fists onto the invisible wall keeping them from getting any closer. “Yeah, we can find another way. Jasmine would be upset if you guys did this!” The giant girl screamed. Tears in her eyes as she put her hands together and raised them over her head, bringing them down as hard as she could onto the barrier, but nothing they did was even cracking the barrier. “Lady Belialuin… you seriously can’t be letting them do this!” The man with silver eyes yelled out. “I am sorry Parker. As the Oracle of the Gods… I can not intervene with the decisions of mortals.” She said in a sad tone. Tears were already streaming down her cheeks. “This world needs Jasmine. She is the strongest hybrid there is.” The past Thor said. “She is the strongest guardian there is as well. She needs to be here.” Past Apollo said, as he took a silver dagger in his hand.

(Note: I got the spell to open the gates of purgatory from the TV Show “Supernatural” but I am making up how they are performing the ceremony.)

The past versions of Kayla and Natalia and their friends were screaming more and more, but everyone that was watching this couldn’t take their eyes off what the past versions Thor, Apollo, and Artemis were doing… They all walked on the altar and formed a triangle over the magic circle. The past Apollo cut his palms and tossed the dagger to the past Thor. He followed suit and then tossed the dagger to Artemis. The past Artemis looked over at her friends and smiled. “Tell Jasmine not to feel guilty about our decision. She was the one that gave us a purpose in this life, and I have a feeling we will meet again in the next one.” She said with a bright smile and cut into her palms. She then tossed the dagger into the middle of the magic circle. The three of them said the spell in unison as they placed their bloody hands down on the circle where they were standing.

(The great door of Purgatory was closed to us, with its light held back from our eyes. But now we stand at the threshold of this great door and humbly, faithfully, very honorably, we prepare to open it. Terrible creatures whose hoof and teeth have never touched human flesh, open its jaws to our world. Now the great door is open at last!)

The room filled with a blinding light and when it died down, there were four bodies on the altar now. The one in the center started to g***n and move a bit, while the other three remained motionless. The past Kayla, Natalia, and their friends rushed to the bodies on the altar. Just as they reach them, a bright light surrounds Melody and the others once more. They closed their eyes and when the light disappeared… They were back in front of the packhouse at Raven Moon.
