Melody’s POV

Riley squealed as she hugged both Natalia and Kayla, then she ran over and hugged Tucker. “Oh, I am so happy you got a second chance, Tucker. Plus you were lucky enough to get Aunt Natalia and Aunt Kayla.” She said as she squeezed him. Riley was hugging him so tightly I was starting to hear bones crack. “Riley!” I half shout. “Oh, oops, sorry.” She said as she let Tucker go. He took a few deep breaths and then smiled at her. “It’s ok, just remember that I am a bit more fragile than you are.” He said with a wink. Riley laughed at his silly joke. Kai seemed to have relaxed. I guess if he had to trust anyone with his aunts’ hearts it might as well be Tucker. Though I am not 100% sure that is how he feels. I looked over at my brothers that were still in wolf form. ‘You guys know they mean us no harm right?’ I asked them. ‘Does not mean we approve of what they did to Kai and Riley.’ EJ huffed. Natalia seemed to sense what was going on. “I assure you young alphas. My sister and I love the twins and care for them just as much as you both do.” She said in a calm voice. “Yeah, if we truly intended to do them and your family harm, your wolves would have killed us by now.” Kayla said. Which was true. Artemis was not giving off a vibe that she distrusted these two, even when they were fighting the twins.

A soft light engulfed Natalia and Kayla and I watched in awe as their wings began to shrink and disappear into their backs. “Though it was a bit harsh. I was testing their skills and their ability to train you all.” Kayla said. Natalia nodded. “Though I am surprised that the two of you were able to break my shield. Only one other person has had the strength and power to do that.” She said with a small smile on her face. As if she was reliving the memory. “Who was that?” I asked. The twins and their aunts grin and chuckled a bit. “The twin’s mother and our best friend, Jasmine.” Kayla and Natalia said in unison. “Just being around the twins must have awakened something within you and your wolves. I feel as if I know you from somewhere.” Natalia said.

Riley looked back and forth between her aunts and my brothers. “Oh, why don’t you bring out Yin and Yang?” She asked Natalia and Kayla. The two women looked at each other and then turned to my parents. “Would that be alright with you, if we transformed?” Natalia asked. I looked over my parents and saw they were mind linking each other about this. Then mama turned to the girls and nodded. Kayla and Natalia bowed their heads and stepped back a bit from the group. Light once again engulfed their bodies, but it was different this time. The light around Natalia was white, while the one around Kayla was black. I felt a strong aura coming from them. I heard the sound of bones breaking and reforming. The lights took the form of two giant wolves. They were only slightly smaller than my brother’s wolves but still bigger than the normal wolves.

When the lights faded I gasped at the sight of their wolves. Kayla’s wolf was all pure black. Her coat seemed to be even darker than mama’s wolf. The only spot that was not black was a perfect circular patch of fur right on her forehead. That was pure white. When she opened her eyes they were a bright yellow. If she had her back to you in the darkness, you would never see her. I then turned to Natalia’s wolf. She was the exact opposite of her sister. Her fur was the purest white I have ever seen. It matches Artemis’s fur. I was sure at first glance people would think Artemis and Natalia’s wolf were sisters. Natalia’s wolf had a black circle patch of fur on her forehead and her eyes were a crystal clear blue.

As I looked down at their bodies, I noticed what made them even more different than us. Both of their wolves had wings attached to their backs. Kayla’s wolf moved a bit away from her sister and stretched out, opening up her wings in the possess. They were like the angel wings that Kayla and Natalia had when they flew out of Apollo and Thor’s reach. Natalia’s wolf also stretched out its body. Then she straightened up and walked over to my brothers.

“Hello. My name is Yang. It is a pleasure to meet you.” Natalia’s wolf said and bowed to my brothers, and I mean bowed. Yang had one leg in front and the other curled into its body, while bending the front of its body and its head down to the ground. ‘Wait a minute…’ “I’m I the only one that heard this wolf talk? In perfect English?” I asked, to no one in particular. Kayla’s wolf walked up to us. “No princess, you are not the only one. Yang and I are a very special breed and the only ones of our kind. We are called soaring wolves. We are half angel and half wolf.” She explained. “By the way, my name is Yin.” She added and bowed to me the same way Yang was bowing to my brothers. “Beast souls can speak perfectly in the tongue of humans. Though most still just growl or snap their jaws.” Yang said. Then Yin and Yang traded places. Yin bowed to my brothers, while Yang bowed to me.

“It is an honor to see the three of you again.” Yang said, “Even if it is indifferent appearances.” Yin added. My brothers then went behind trees and shifted, coming back out in basketball shorts. “What does that mean?” EJ asked, crossing his arms. “Yeah, we have never met you two before.” TJ added while mimicking EJ and crossing his arms as well. “No, you human children we are meeting for the first time.” Yin said. “The ones we were talking about were your wolves… Apollo, Thor, and Artemis.” Yang said. I gasped in complete shock. They could have known Apollo and Thor’s name when Riley shouted them out earlier, but no one had said my wolf’s name at all. ‘Artemis… Do you actually know these two?’ I asked her. It was quiet for a few minutes and then she spoke. ‘Yes. I do.’ She answered. I was pulled out of my thoughts when Riley spoke up.

“How do you know their wolves?” Riley asked Yin and Yang. The wolves looked at one another and bobbed their heads, gesturing us to sit down. “You may want to get comfortable for this tale.” Yin said as she sat down on her butt. “We can use our gift, sight beyond sight, to show you what happened in the past. There is where you will find some of the answers you seek.” Yang said as she walked around to the other side of us before she sat down herself. Now our group was in the middle of Yin and Yang. “Is it like a memory mind share?” mama asked. Yang shook her big wolf head. “No, a memory mind share allows you to see what happened in a person’s memory. Using sight beyond sight, will take our minds to the past and see what happens there.” She said. “Though it will only work if you can trust us and open your minds like you would for a pack mind link.” Yin said. ‘You can trust them, Melody.’ Artemis spoke. I looked over at EJ and TJ. They looked as if Apollo and Thor were speaking to them as well.

“If my wolf trusts you two, then I will trust you.” I spoke loud and clear. Artemis has never steered me wrong. EJ and TJ nodded their heads in agreement. Our wolves have always been our best friends when we were on our own. That is something that the three of us have in common. Yin and Yang both nodded and spoke in unison.

As soon as they spoke those words, both of their eyes turned pure white. A bright light surrounded us. It was so bright I had to close my eyes and cover them with my hand. After a few minutes, I heard a few gasps. I then opened my eyes and let out a gasp myself. We were in a large room covered entirely of crystals. I looked at my hands and I was see-through. We kind of looked like ghosts. “We will be able to see and hear everything that happened here, but no one will be able to hear or see us. They will pass right through us.” Yin said. “And remember that the events you are about to witness are events that have already come to pass, so nothing can be changed.” Yang said. “Where are we?” I asked. “We are in the crystal castle, this is where the oracle of the gods lives.” Yin said. “She is the one that speaks directly to the gods and passes on their will. She is also in charge of bestowing the ‘mark of guardians’ on a beast humans that the gods have chosen.” Yang added.

Before we could ask any more questions, the large doors to our right burst opened and three people came storming inside. Two men and one woman. The woman was about my size and built, but she had dirty blonde hair and bright blue eyes. The men were similar to EJ and TJ’s size and build, but one had black hair and red ember eyes and the other one had white and black hair with electric blue eyes. ‘Their eyes… Their eyes remind me of our wolves’ eyes. They were dressed in the same kind of clothes that the twins, Kayla, and Natalia were dressed in when we first met them.

“WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON, BELIALUIN?!?!” The black haired man yelled as the three of them stopped in the center of the room. “There is no need to shout so much, Apollo.” A soft and gentle voice came from behind us. I turned and saw a woman standing at the top of a crystal staircase. She had flowing golden hair and vibrant purple eyes. Her skin was slightly pale and she was very petite. “Apollo?” EJ asked in disbelief. Looking from the three people in the center of the room and to Yin and Yang. “All you need to know for now is that this is Edolas eleven years ago. This was a few months before the twins were conceived.” Yang said, and we turned our attention back to the people around us.

“Like hell there isn’t a need to shout.” The other man growled. “How do you expect us to be calm when we just found out that our best friend has been stuck in purgatory while the rest of us were on different jobs. Tell me that, Belialuin?” The woman said, crossing her arms. “Artemis, Thor. I know it is hard, especially for how the three of you feel for Jasmine, but we have yet to find a safe way to return her home.” The woman, that I now knew was Belialuin, said in a sad tone. ‘Artemis?’ I called out her name. ‘Does this mean what I think it means?’ I asked through our link. I felt her sigh. ‘Yes. This is where Thor, Apollo, and I were born… Those people you see before you is what we looked like from the past.’ She said. I was shocked. The woman standing before me right now was the past life of my wolf!?
