Legend Of The Moon Princess -
Episode 95
Estarossa’s POV
I have been waiting three whole months for that mutt to get me the girl. ‘How hard was it to catch someone off guard?’ I thought to myself as I paced back and forth. I have made all the preparations I needed to, I was just missing the final key to success and that was the moon princess.
I spun around quickly at the sound of a twig snapping. Reaching for my sword if it was someone other than that mutt. I don’t need Jasmine finding out about my return to Edolas until I have what I need. “Relax, it is me. I got the girl you wanted.” The mutt said as he stepped through the brush and into the light. “What the hell took so long?” I growled out at him. He scoffed and rolled his eyes. “It is a bit hard to kidnap someone when they are being watched every minute of every day. She was constantly with those bastard rats during the day time and her mates at night. She was finally alone when I found her in the forest an hour ago.” He said with annoyance.
He dropped her onto the ground, she was still out from my sleeping potion dart I gave him. I reached into my satchel and pulled out a vial with a dark green liquid. “This is a poison I made from some rare plants. This should kill off your alpha.” I said as I tossed the vial to him. He caught it and looked closer at it. “Are you certain this will be strong enough to kill her?” He asked. Truth be told I was not a full 100% sure if it would be effective enough. The plants I used were from purgatory. I don’t know if Jasmine built up a tolerance to poisons from purgatory or not, but this would be the perfect time to test it out at his expense.
I gave him my most trusting smile. “Of course it will kill her. It will make the body shut down and cause the target’s internal organs to cease function all together. The target will be dead within minutes.” I said. That part was true. If Jasmine was not immune to the toxins from purgatory then she would be dead within moments of drinking that poison. It is a win-win situation for me. I either lose my greatest obstacle or gain more knowledge on her. I lift the moon princess into my arms, holding her as if she was a sleeping baby.
An odd sensation fills me as I hold her. I shake my head and compose myself. I grabbed a teleporting crystal from my satchel. “Well good luck with your endeavors my friend.” I said before I smashed the crystal on the ground and teleported away from him. He was on his own now. I needed to get things ready before my sleeping potion wore off and this girl decided to wake up.
Jasmine’s POV
Kai and Riley are pacing all around the floor since I made them stay with me. Melody had asked for some alone time today so I made the twins stay with me. Ren helped her hide her scent for protection and she promised not to go any further than the river that was about sixty yards away from the house. “Mother, can we go find Lady Melody now?” Riley asked, nervously tapping her foot. I smiled as I heard a chuckle from behind me. I turned to see Ren and Robin laughing to themselves. “Wow this sure brings back memories, doesn’t it Ren.” Robin asked. Ren nodded as she giggled. “Haha. Yes. They remind me so much of Jasmine when it was her first time being apart from Parker.” She replied.
I had to chuckle to myself because it was true. My father and mother didn’t want me to become a complete shadow to Parker, even though I was his guardian. So they would separate us for small periods of time. It was hard at first because of the natural instinct of a guardian to put their life on the line for the one that we were chosen for. Some guardians have even rejected their mates for their sole focus to be the one they were protecting. Parker said that he would never forgive me if I rejected my mate for a stupid reason like that, and I am sure Melody would not be happy if Riley or Kai rejected their mates for her.
“Kai, Riley. You may be Princess Melody’s guardians, but you are still your own person.” I said to my children to comfort them a bit. “Besides, if Melody can beat me in a match, which she is the first to ever do so, then she can handle an afternoon in the woods alone.” I quickly added, and it was true. Melody was the first person to ever beat me after I became alpha. My mother and father trained me just as hard as what we have been doing. I was going to be the first female alpha in Edolas, and father didn’t want others to undermine me just because I was a female.
“But mother, what if something happens to her. Yes she is strong, but I have noticed that when she over thinks on something she tends to completely let her guard down.” Riley protested. ‘That is a valid reason for concern.’ I thought for a moment. ‘If something does happen to her, then once we bring her back we will help her with that issue. Alphas should always be on alert when they are alone.’ Dalinda scoffed in my head. ‘Now, now you guys. Everyone can make mistakes and as long as we learn from them and do better it was a worthy mistake. We can not control the Moon Princess every minute of every day.’ Kira chimed in.
‘You are right Kira. Everyone has to live their own life and make their own mistakes. We will just have to be there if we are needed.’ I said to both of them. “Riley, Kai. If Melody needs us we will be there, but we can not put her in a bubble. She has to live and sometimes make mistakes. We just need to be there when she needs us to help fix and learn from those mistakes.” I said with a smile as I pulled my children to me. Riley sighed but nodded in agreement. Kai silently nodded. “We understand mother.” They said in unison.
A few hours later…
We were all sitting at the table ready for dinner, but waiting for a very late Melody. “I wonder if she just dozed off or something in the woods.” Terrance thought. He told me that him and Ethan would be able to feel if Melody was in pain. It was part of their bond as triplets. To be honest I was slightly jealous of their bond. I thought I had a bond like that with Estarossa, but he always seemed to have an inner battle with himself. Sometimes it was like he couldn’t decide if he hated me or loved me as his twin sister.
There was a knock on the sliding door that separated the dining room from the outside garden. “My alpha, I have brought a special tea for you and our guest.” Fraudrin called from the other side. Kai and Riley sat up straighter and glared hard at the door. I was never blind to the hatred that Fraudrin had for my children or me, but he never caused the clan any harm. So there was no real reason to kill him or banish him. Plus Kai and Riley never hid their hatred from him either. “Come in Fraudin.” I called out to him.
He came inside holding a piping hot kettle. “I got this tea from a recent friend. I thought it would please our new alphas and the moon princess.” He said with one of his forced smiles. I silently held my own cup to him. I would try it first before anyone else. I built up quite a tolerance to poisons since my time in purgatory. As he was filling my cup, a weird feeling inside me made me speak to him. “Fraudrin, Melody isn’t here yet. I was wondering if you have seen her?” I asked. Melody has been gone longer than what we agreed on this afternoon.
Fraudrin seemed surprised at my question. That he almost dropped the kettle. “What? She is missing?” He seemed a little ‘too’ shocked. “No, I haven’t seen her. I will go looking for her.” Fraudrin said. His eyebrow doing a slight twitch. I then placed the cup to my lips, but Grace stood up and used her powers of manipulation of the earth to slam Fraudrin out of the house and into the garden. Knocking both the kettle and my cup to the floor. Spilling the tea.
I looked at Grace and she had a serious look on her face. “He is lying.” was all she said. She walked to the garden and swiftly raised her arms, making the stone ground move along with her. She pinned Fraudrin to the back wall. I looked down at the spilled tea and heightened my sense of smell by bringing both Kira and Dalinda forward together. Sniffing the aroma of the tea, the scent was very faint but it was there… ‘FOXGLOVE!’ Kria and Dalinda roared in my head.
He actually had tried to poison us with foxglove. I glared at Fraudrin, who was struggling against Grace’s restraints. I stood tall and walked towards him. Slamming my fist into the stone. Not hard enough to split the wall, but hard enough to leave an indent in the stone. I got right in his face before I spoke. “Now you are going to tell me where Melody is and who gave you foxglove tea to poison me with.” I snarled. If Melody was harmed in any way, Fraudrin will wish for death once we are done with him.
