Episode 98

Estarossa’s POV

I finally calmed down a few hours after drinking my medicine. “I pray that once I get rid of her, then all of these voices will finally stop.” I whispered to myself. I felt another slight ping in my chest. It happens anytime I really think about Jasmine. As a twin I actually wished that things were different. That we could have had a good relationship with one another, but fate was cruel. Mother and father loved her more. The village thought of her as the most wondrous thing to bless the clan. All of it started that day so many years ago. I laid down in my bed and went to sleep thinking about how Jasmine took everything from me.

Flashback~

(Jasmine and Estarossa are six years old)

I woke up near the crack of dawn. ‘It is our birthday.’ I thought with excitement. I rushed out of bed and went to my little sister’s room. She was curled up in her blanket still dreaming away. I launched myself into the air and tackled her. “Arugh” She m****d. “Come on little sister. It is our birthday. We need to get up before the sun fully rises.” I said as I bounced on her in excitement. She g****s and mumbles something. “Huh? I can’t hear you.” I said. She g****s again and then rolls, making both of us fall off her bed.

“Ouch!” we both cry out. Falling to the floor made the two of us hit our heads together. “I said that I didn’t need a wake up call.” She said as she looked at her sundial near the window. It was a magic sundial that could even tell the time at night. “We still have about another hour before sunrise.” She said with a yawn. “Yeah, but we will be getting our ears and tails today. Maybe gifts from the gods too.” I said excitedly. Father said that once we got our ears and tail, then I could start my training for the trials of becoming the next alpha of our clan.

Jasmine smiled and then got up. She stretched and reached out for me. “Well then we still have someone else to wake up too.” She said with a wink. We then went over to our elder brother Parker’s room. He was 8 years older than us. The two of us dog piled on him, waking him up. Once we were all up. Mother and father took us to the top of the mountain behind the village. To a place only the alpha and his family were allowed.

As soon as the sun rose up over the horizon, blue flames circled around Jasmine. When they died down, Jasmine had electric blue dragon wings and horns, dark gray wolf ears and tail with white tips on both, and she had a small star right in the middle of her forehead. She was a wondrous sight to behold, and I was excited for my turn. I waited for what seemed like hours, but nothing ever happened. Mother and father didn’t know what was happening and were a bit worried. Parker and Jasmine tried to make me feel better by saying I was probably a late bloomer, like Parker was and that I would be a strong alpha one day.

Parker didn’t get his beast soul until he was 18 and could transform, and when Jasmine and I turned ten. I heard and felt nothing but silence and loneliness in my body. Meanwhile, Jasmine not only got her beast soul, but she got two of them.They were both stronger than me and I hated it. I was supposed to be the strongest. I was supposed to be alpha. That was when I started being compelled to hurt Parker and Jasmine.

I started hearing a small voice. ‘This isn’t fair, is it young alpha?’ the voice said. ‘No. It’s not. Why did she betray me? Why did my little sister, my TWIN, take my beast soul?’ I asked in frustration. Something like this had never happened before. ‘If you want to be alpha, then you need to take out those that are stronger than you.’ the voice said. ‘I can help you with that.’ it offered to me. ‘I accept.’ I replied. As soon as I agreed my mind was filled with all the knowledge I needed for alchemy and ideas on how to get a beast form of my own.

End of Flashback~

I woke up sweaty and with my heart thumping rapidly. I roughly rubbed my eyes and laid back down. ‘Why the hell did I dream about the past all of a sudden? Was it because of what that girl did to me yesterday?’ I asked myself as I composed myself.

After a few minutes I got up and headed over to my bathroom. I used some runes to heat up some water for a bath. ‘Well no matter why I had that dream. Everything is falling into place. Tonight is the night.’ I thought as I sat in the tub to soak. I raised my hand up and looked through my fingers at the sunlight coming through the window. “Under the light of the lunar eclipse tonight. Taking what I need from the little moon princess will grant me a beast of my own. I just need to make sure she eats well today and drinks my special potion.” I say to myself as I finish washing myself.

After I dried and dressed, I went to my alchemy table and began mixing the potion that will help ensure that the little moon princess is strong enough for tonight. It will be a painful process for her, but I can not let her die on me just yet. Then I will take her to the place where it began. Ultear had told me of the place that her imprisonment had started with my ancestors, thousands of years ago. That is the place where the ritual will take place, and the last place they will think of looking for us.
