Chapter 10
-Where are you going?” A male voice behind her back startled her. It was not Cristian
But she recognized the low tone instantly. If she remembered the man’s name correctly, it was Dakota.
-I’m going that way. She had been afraid of him before, when she met him for the first time, but now her body did not flinch from his presence. What frightened her was her own reaction.
-You may not roam freely inside the alpha’s house without your mate’s permission- -You may not roam freely inside the alpha’s house without your mate’s permission.
Alpha, mate…. What the hell was he talking about. His head thundered and it hurt in itself.
-I don’t quite understand what you’re talking about, and I don’t care. She shrugged her shoulders disinterestedly in an attempt to avoid the subject, she wasn’t ready to face it yet.
-Apparently Cristián will have a good job to tame you.
The hair on the back of her neck stood up. She spun on her heels and approached him who barely reached her chin, a sense of superiority had quelled any trace of panic inside her.
Quite the opposite. She felt the need to dominate and tough luck for him.
-I never kowtowed to anyone,” she blurted out the words so gravely that she herself was impressed-and it won’t be the first time I’ve done that.
Dakota didn’t move a muscle. The voice, that alpha voice that made any lesser wolf bow. He was using it and he wasn’t aware of it. Her eyes had become little swirls of colors between gold and green. The beast inside her was threatening to come out. But as pack commander she could not allow another alpha to lead inside the home of her own.
He bared his fangs and his eyes changed to gold. He didn’t intend to threaten her, let alone touch her, that could look for serious trouble with his beta, but she had to know who was in charge.
Alisha blinked several times and shook her head now confused. She was definitely crazy by now and the headache was a sign of it.
-Tell me that’s fake and that you wear magic contact lenses- The alpha in her had disappeared again leaving only confusion.
Dakota wanted to laugh because she had succeeded, but he never laughed.
-Apparently you don’t even know anything about us.
-And I have to imagine you’re something- she raised a hand further tangling her uncontrolled curls- Well yes, you’re human, aren’t you?
She felt him sigh. He had no intention of telling her anything. That was Christian’s job.
-Hey, I’m talking… -He turned his face in different directions- What’s that smell.
-Someone’s in the kitchen, it’s time for breakfast.
Alisha’s mouth watered with the powerful smell that reached her, forgetting everything around her. Food, that was the important thing now. She had noticed that her hearing was more sensitive than before, even of sensing the footsteps on the floor below of many people and her eyes saw sharper than before, being able to appreciate details that were insignificant to her before.
She could not deny that she was afraid of her sudden change, deep down she was terrified, but so many things had happened that she had not yet assimilated and it did not even make sense to explode. In the end she was just crazy.
She went down the stairs two at a time in the direction of the delicious smell leaving it on the top floor.
She walked past a huge living room where most of the noise in the house came from and walked in the direction of the kitchen when she felt a hand on her shoulder.
The touch made her shudder and her wild instincts rose. What did people have with appearing from behind her.
She grabbed the hand and with one swift movement had the owner of it on the floor.
A scream brought the music to a halt.
A man perhaps not as big as Cristian lay under her knee as she put him in a wristlock.
-But well, Cris’s girlfriend continues to amaze us- Two men came out of the room she had ignored but kept their distance- Steicer you are a disgrace to the race.
-Shut up Mikhail- he tried to move but Alisha wouldn’t release her grip which made him growl- -You know if he comes now.
-You know that if he comes now he will cut your head off.” A long white-haired one caught his attention pointing with his head to her somewhat suggestive position and her tentative clothes.
-But I didn’t do anything to her,” she replied again looking up as best she could, “she is the one who assaulted me and it’s not my fault that Cris has her half naked around the house.
Alisha turned her wrist, already a little annoyed by the insinuations and screamed again.
Then she stared at the scene. How many men were in that house, and what the hell were they eating. The smallest of them was well over six feet tall.
The smell came to him again and he breathed in. She looked back and the light from the kitchen drew her in like gold.
She let go of the hand pulling it to the side and turning her back to them she went that way.
She stopped at the door. In one corner there was someone cooking while humming and wiggling his butt from side to side as he swung a frying pan.
But in the corner, leaning back with a coffee in his hand, was the biggest, most beautiful man he had ever seen.
Her mouth fell open in surprise. He looked at her and set his cup aside.
-Would you like to join me for breakfast?
