Chapter 12
When she passed him in satisfaction, everyone in the room let out a sigh of relief. Dylan ruffled his hair, trying to let out all the frustration that had built up over the events of the last few minutes. The house was turning upside down.
-And Serguei wants us to go talk to him to catch up on this new craziness in my life,” Alisha told him before walking through the door as the men moved out of the way and made way for her. They didn’t want another problem with her or her superior.
-Hey, that little body’s got fire in it,” Dylan guffawed.
-It’s like having two Serguei’s under the same roof,” Steicer leaned back against the frame.
Christian grabbed the cloth Louva threw him and wiped the b***d from his neck. The wound wasn’t deep, but it hurt and it was intimately warm.
He remembered the moment they made contact. It was only a second but their bodies vibrated, claiming each other. Fate had made them for each other. It was written in their DNA and no matter how much they denied it, they couldn’t ignore it.
Cristián left the cloth on the table and followed his partner in the direction of his alpha’s office. There was still a lot of explaining to do on both sides. And maybe those thousand years without being able to touch her weren’t a thousand years in the end.
He followed her at a safe distance as they walked down the hallway of the mansion. He found himself admiring the fabric that swirled around her h**s. He could not deny that his destined woman, physically, lived up to all his expectations. Though with her tongue there was a bit of work to be done. But since her wolf had magically awakened, she was more aggressive, and he felt the gap between them growing wider.
Alisha stopped and looked sideways. The corridor had so many doors that she found herself lost. She tapped the floor uncomfortably, and pulled the hem of her sweater tighter.
-So, which one is Serguei’s?
Christian crossed his arms over his chest and leaned against the wall.
-I think before we see my alpha we should talk alone. Things have changed. You and our relationship has changed.
-Our relationship?” Alisha turned around, “What relationship are you talking about? I hired you, you were my bodyguard. There is nothing between us.
-Alisha,” Cristián said more calmly, he knew that being upset wouldn’t solve anything, “That’s why we have to talk. I have a lot of things to explain to him, and it won’t take ten minutes.
She smiled wryly and ruffled her hair in an almost hysterical movement.
-Explain. Yes, you do. You have to explain to me how the hell I get shot and the next day there’s no trace of the wound. My body hurts like hell all the time, who all those guys are and why I woke up naked in your bed this morning,” he raised his voice until he was almost shouting.
He scrunched up the bridge of his nose, taking in the rushed words. He walked towards her and Alisha recoiled out of pure instinct. Something inside her told her to come to him, to give herself to those strong arms that had given her warmth and comfort, to wallow in that body that was sure to take her to glory, but her cold, calculating mind dictated otherwise and life had shown her that it was better to be guided by her head.
-Let’s go upstairs first, let’s talk,” she insisted again.
-To your room? No way, I’m sure you’ll do the same thing to me again as when I was unconscious, and who knows what you did to me” Alisha frowned, she didn’t like the atmosphere that was surrounding him nor the masculine smell that was calling her, suppressing some of her rage.
-Nothing happened,” although she would have loved to go further, “We just slept,” the wolf continued to approach.
-Christian, don’t come near me,” she said through her teeth, ignoring his words, her attention focused on keeping her distance.
But he paid no attention. And when she took another step back he grabbed her by the wrist and stopped her against the wall, grabbing her arms above her head and putting his leg between hers, stopping her every movement with the weight of his body. The contact was reminiscent of minutes ago in the living room and Cristian’s body stiffened painfully against her lower belly.
He heard her grunt. With his height he barely reached her chin but the strength he was releasing due to his transformation made him use more than he wanted to immobilize her.
-What do you think you’re doing?
-He was having trouble organising his thoughts, his wolf was clouding all his senses and commanding him to claim her right there and then. It hadn’t been a good idea to touch her after all.
-I don’t think that the way you’re going you’re going to achieve positive results, Christian. Especially not with that,” he pointed his eyes downwards. I could feel him trembling with indignation. Although the slight blush on her cheeks betrayed her embarrassment.
He knew his companion was not indifferent to him. That was a step forward.
But, what bothered him most was that she refused to succumb to her more primal instincts. It could be due to the alpha essence within her or the simple fact that she never bowed to anyone.
Christian took a deep breath and brought his face closer, catching her gaze at his angle of vision. He held his breath so as not to go crazy with the scent she gave off.
-One hour,” he snorted, drawing patience from nowhere, “I’m asking for an hour so we can talk like civilised people.
Hello. I want to ask you a question. Some people have told me to put pictures of the characters, which I have. Although I can’t put this chapter at the beginning because I’m participating in 3 contests and one of the rules is that I can’t edit. I would like to know if you want the next chapter to be about this or a normal one, following the story. I’m waiting for your opinions. K****s
