Lost and Found: Return of My Mysterious Fiancee -
Chapter 892: Custom-Made Diamond Ring
Jared led Tina to a display featuring a headband. The pure white velvet band was adorned with upright bunny ears, giving it a cute and girlish charm.
Jared picked it up and looked at Tina, his eyes sparkling like stars.
Tina glanced at him and responded flatly, "Not interested." Without another word, she walked away to browse elsewhere.
Jared grabbed her wrist, his voice light and teasing. "Sophia would like this. I'll buy it for Sophia."
Tina's cheeks flushed with embarrassment. "You're getting more and more fond of teasing people," she muttered.
Jared chuckled, ruffling her hair before continuing to explore the store with her. He picked up a large, green, fluffy plush toy, its unconventional design catching his attention. He handed it to Tina. Tina hugged it briefly. "The fur is soft," she admitted, but its appearance failed to captivate her.
Jared placed it into the shopping basket. "For Sophia."
Tina looked puzzled. "Did you upset Sophia?"
Jared shook his head, his tone still cheerful. "No. I just give everything you don't like to Sophia."
He spoke as if it were the most ordinary thing in the world, but the remark left Tina speechless.
Sophia, somewhere far away, might have sighed: "So love really does fade, doesn't it?"
Tina rubbed her nose awkwardly. "If Sophia finds out, she'll probably beat you up. Come on, let's go somewhere else."
She felt the store's style didn't suit her at all.
Jared watched Tina walk ahead, his gaze deep and thoughtful. He sighed inwardly. Once again, his attempt to see another side of her had failed.
Tina wandered forward, scanning for a jewelry store called "Promise." Finally, she spotted it on the second floor, to the right.
Jared quickly caught up with her, wrapping an arm around her waist. "Are you heading to the jewelry section?"
"Yes, I want to check out the gold accessories and jade bracelets," Tina replied smoothly.
"Then let's take a look." Jared raised an eyebrow.
"Gold rarely depreciates," Tina said casually, though her eyes lingered on the diamond ring store. "Buying it might even turn out to be profitable someday."
The two soon arrived at a gold shop. A sales assistant greeted them warmly. "Hello, how can I help you today?"
Jared and Tina remained silent, both studying the gold jewelry displayed behind the glass. Jared pondered what Tina might like, while Tina tapped her fingers lightly, considering what she could choose without raising suspicion. The display featured gold bracelets, rings, necklaces, and more.
Jared's gaze fell on the gold bracelets but dismissed the idea, recalling the custom-made bracelet he'd given her before-it wouldn't match. He shifted his focus to the rings and necklaces instead.
Tina gave the display a quick scan and noticed a gold necklace nearby. It seemed decent enough.
Jared pointed to a gold necklace with a small pendant shaped like a protective lock. "Take this one out; I want Tina to try it on," he said.
The sales assistant retrieved the necklace and handed it over respectfully.
Tina smiled faintly. "Uncle, we really think alike. I was eyeing this one too."
Jared held the necklace in his hand. The protective lock pendant was adorned with three tiny gold beads, which jingled softly as they moved.
He carefully gathered Tina's long hair and placed the necklace around her slender, swan-like neck, the golden chain perfectly contrasting her fair skin.
Though the necklace didn't quite match her outfit, Jared smiled faintly. "You think I don't know your little tricks?" He examined her thoughtfully, then nodded in satisfaction.
"Uncle, let's go with this one. You can pay," Tina said casually.
Jared gave a small nod, reminding her, "Wait here for me."
He walked into the shop to complete the purchase, leaving Tina outside.
Her gaze drifted to the "Promise" store next door, and she turned to enter.
Promise was a boutique jewelry brand-not the most famous in Ashbury, but known for its unique, high-quality designs. Each piece was either a masterpiece or a one-of-a-kind item.
A staff member in a black professional suit noticed Tina and appeared momentarily surprised. The girl looked young-was she here to buy a diamond ring?
The staff member discreetly observed her but didn't spot any luxury brands on her. Nevertheless, Promise employees were held to high standards, so she quickly composed herself, offering a polite and enthusiastic smile. "Good afternoon, miss. Would you like me to show you some of our diamond ring designs? We have both new and classic collections, and each piece is timeless."
Tina got straight to the point. "I'd like to order a custom-made diamond ring."
The staff member blinked in surprise. While Promise was a niche brand, its prices were steep. Their diamond rings started at a million dollars, and custom orders were even more expensive. She wasn't sure if Promise would even accept the request.
Maintaining her professional demeanor, she asked cautiously, "Are you certain you'd like to place a custom order?"
Tina's tone was firm. "Yes, I want a custom design."
"Understood, miss. I'll need to make a call to get approval from management." The staff member excused herself politely and stepped into a corner to make the call.
After a brief conversation, she returned to Tina. "Miss, management has approved your request. However, they'll need to see the design sketch for the ring."
Tina nodded knowingly. "Do you have a pen and paper? I need to revise my design."
The staff member handed her the materials, reminding her gently, "Please be quick, miss. Management won't wait too long."
Tina took the pen and paper and modified her original sketch. Following the advice of an elderly woman who had guided her, she redrew the design with precision.
When the staff member saw the revised sketch, she couldn't help but gasp in admiration. "Miss, this design is stunning. It's even more captivating than the styles we carry in-store."
She quickly snapped a photo and sent it to management. After receiving approval, she returned to Tina.
"Miss, please come with me to our private consultation room."
As Tina prepared to follow the staff member, a sharp voice interrupted.
"Where's the staff? Show me your diamond rings!"
A tall woman in a black Chanel-inspired suit strode in, her high heels clicking loudly against the floor. Her voice was full of arrogance.
The staff member turned to the newcomer, bowing slightly. "Good afternoon, miss. I'll be with you shortly. I'm currently assisting this client."
The woman removed her sunglasses, her expression displeased and her tone cutting. "A store this big only has one employee?"
The staff member smiled apologetically, understanding this wasn't someone to provoke. She bowed again. "I'm sincerely sorry, miss. We're short-staffed today, but I'll assist you as soon as I finish here. It won't take long." The woman's expression hardened. "Fine. But don't keep me waiting too long."
