Love beyond the mask ( Whitney ) -
Chapter 913
Tiana's face was a mask of tension, her large eyes swimming with panic, barely flickering.
Why was he here?
Did he hear everything?
Her fists clenched tightly at her sides, his gaze upon her was calm yet it felt like it was tearing her apart. His mocking smirk sent shivers down her spine, her back prickling with unease...
She didn't even notice her nails digging into her palms until they broke the skin.
Her mind raced, replaying what she had said in her attempt to strike fatal blow to Endora's reputation.
Upon seeing Parker, Alice screamed dramatically, "Parker! It's a disaster! Your darling Endora's nearly been killed by her cousin! There's so much blood... her wrist is broken... Where in the world is the doctor?!"
Cato didn't bother looking for a doctor; instead, he wailed, "Endora, Endora, please wake up, just say something to me!"
Endora, barely clinging to life on the floor, reached out to Parker, her eyes streaked with tears, "Parker, I can't make it. Don't blame Tiana, maybe she's just upset about our upcoming wedding and acted out in a moment of jealousy. But it hurts so much, I think I'm dying..." Parker's gaze shifted from Tiana's face to the pool of blood on the floor.
He rushed forward, his tall frame brushing past Tiana, who nearly fell to the ground as she staggered back.
Tiana instinctively touched her stomach, then her hands trembled as she let go, her lips pressed tightly together.
"How is she?" Parker crouched down, scooping Endora into his arms and hastily laying her on the bed.
Endora clung to his neck, her sobs weak, "Parker, my hand... it will never be the same. How could Tiana be so cruel! What if I can't use my right hand again? You can't leave me, Parker. I have nothing left..." Endora's weeping made Parker's eyes harden with an emotionless glare.
He was annoyed.
But for now, he had to save Endora, ensure she didn't die today, especially not by Tiana's hands. Did that fool really want to end up in jail?
Moreover, if Endora ended up permanently injured, his obligation to marry her would be undeniable.
A surge of irritation ran through him as he glanced at Tiana's defiant silhouette, "Tiana, for hurting her, you must take responsibility. Apologize to her now!"
As Parker spoke, Cato and Alice's expressions shifted, Alice glancing at Endora.
Endora's pale lips slowly curled into a smirk.
"Parker, even though Tiana committed a heinous act today, she's just a young girl blinded by jealousy. She didn't know better," Endora sobbed, pleading on Tiana's behalf. "Not knowing better is no excuse for jail. Apologize, and I might let you off easy," Parker said, his gaze piercing through Tiana with a chilling frost.
Tiana had no desire to look at him again, her mind filled with the image of him rushing to Endora's aid, the pain in her chest felt like a wire twisting tighter, suffocating her. She found she couldn't bear it.
She turned and stormed out.
"Parker yelled, his eyes blazing, "Don't you walk away from me!" as he grabbed her arm.
"Let go!" she struggled, of course.
But how could she ever match his strength? When he used force, she felt like a bird trapped in his grasp, its wings cruelly clipped and thrown against the wall outside. "Ah..." Tiana gasped in pain, the shock resonating through her core.
She hurriedly looked down, only for him to coldly lift her chin, his eyes burning with volcanic fury suppressed by deep malice. "Did I say you could leave?!"
"I'm not staying to be your pawn in tormenting others! Parker, you can favor Endora all you want, but don't trample over me. I'm not an object for your amusement!" What was she saying, spewing venom with every word?
Parker's eyes flickered, filled with unspoken anguish, "I don't need Endora to torment you. Don't flatter yourself. Knowing someone as manipulative and vile as you has been the misfortune of my life."
Tiana's heart sank, tears mingling with a bitter smile, "Am I the misfortune of your life? Then, is Endora your fortune? Are you really going to marry her? Parker, I'm asking you one last time."
The chill in his eyes paused for a moment.
But the moment he recalled how she had openly boasted and shown off to Endora, the pain seared his throat so intensely, his words came out as cold and sharp as whiskey on ice, burning her, "So what, you expect me to marry you instead? Someone who's been passed around? I'm about to marry her, what about it!"
He was retaliating, unable to believe she had the nerve to call him second-hand after everything.
The last flicker of hope in Tiana's eyes darkened completely.
She could choose not to believe the words of Endora.
But the confession from the man himself left her no choice but to accept the bitter truth.
As Endora had mentioned, he was now completely devoted to her, even discussing wedding plans.
So, could it be possible that he knew about what Endora had done to his father?
