Love beyond the mask ( Whitney ) -
Chapter 915
Tiana nodded, "I first went to Barclay. He demanded a price for sparing my dad. I had to marry him immediately." "Marry him?!" Whitney's eyes went wide, suddenly understanding, "This must be Endora's doing from behind the scenes."
"Exactly. They've been in cahoots, not sure what deal they've struck. Endora plotted while Barclay executed. Over the past two months, they've been setting traps, dragging my cousin and my dad into this mess! Now they've got my dad in trouble with the law, and she's using it to blackmail me."
"You went to her hospital room, and she admitted all this to you?"
"Yeah, I recorded it." Tiana pulled out a voice recorder, though she didn't look hopeful. She covered her cold eyes, anxiety written all over her face, "But she had Barclay poison my dad ahead of time. He'll die of heart failure in three days, and this recording won't save him in time. I had no choice but to agree to her terms today."
Whitney's face turned ice-cold!
Tiana let out a bitter laugh, "But in return, I made sure she won't be using one of her hands anytime soon. Right now, I just need her to give me the antidote to save my dad's life! Once that's done, and before I marry Barclay, my dad will be released. And on Endora's wedding day, I'll make sure to give her a surprise she'll never forget. I'll turn her dream day into a nightmare."
Whitney could see she was brewing a plan for revenge.
But it was a pyrrhic victory, the cost being, she'd have to marry Barclay, that swine.
Whitney shook her head, gripping Tiana's hand, "No, Tiana. You can't marry Barclay and throw your life away!"
"What choice do I have? I can't risk my father's life by taking her on directly in three days. Endora's scheming to ruin my happiness to spoil her own wedding, just to make Parker despise me. And she succeeded. But I won't let her have a smooth wedding. I'll ruin it for her and Parker. They're accomplices in this!"
"Parker knows about Endora's actions?" Whitney shook her head, disbelieving.
"Whether he knows or not, he's marrying Endora. Doesn't that mean he's protecting her, becoming an accomplice?" Tiana couldn't forget that cold look in his eyes in the hospital room.
He had said it himself: Marry Endora instead of her, a second-hand good?
Such disdain and aversion.
It chilled her to the bone, to the point she was ready to give up the child she was carrying.
She looked up at Whitney, "Before I marry Barclay, I'll get rid of the baby."
"Tiana?!"
"I've thought it through, really. My dad, even from jail, ordered me, and I won't disobey him. Plus, Parker won't lack for children, he plans to have three with Endora." She let out a dry laugh, her heart aching, "This problem, shouldn't be left behind." Whitney's heart clenched at the sight of Tiana's pain, "I can't agree with you destroying your life, marrying Barclay is just that, even if it's for your dad..."
"Of course, I won't really marry him." Tiana clutched the voice recorder, her jaw set, "Everything Barclay has done, I've recorded as well. Neither he nor Endora will escape their comeuppance at the wedding. Once my dad is safely out and free from poison, I'll take them both down. The so-called wedding will just be a funeral for the three of us. I won't let them win, no one will."
Tiana held onto this destructive resolve, her words cold as ice.
Whitney felt Tiana was consumed by hatred, perhaps Parker's actions had added to her despair. Had she run into Parker at the hospital?
Mentioning Parker and Endora's wedding, was Parker out of his mind, actually marrying Endora?
Whitney could almost picture Tiana stumbling upon Parker doting on Endora, a scene that would pierce her heart.
"Didn't you confront Parker about Endora's crimes?" Whitney asked angrily, "He could have intervened, and your dad would have been freed!"
Tiana gave her a wry look, her resolve unshaken, "Even if it kills me, I won't beg Parker. He's chosen Endora's side. Without saying a word, I know, he and Endora will be a family.
Whitney, what are you thinking?"
But your child is his! And possibly Cherry's too...
Seeing her bitter self-mockery, Whitney guessed Parker had wounded her deeply.
She frowned, closed her mouth, and patted Tiana's much thinner shoulder, "Get in my car, I'll have my driver take you home. Standing in the rain like this, do you want to catch a cold? Leave your dad's matter to us to help."
"I'll call Barclay right away, negotiate terms." Tiana said coldly, staggering into the car.
After instructing the driver, Whitney watched the car drive off into the rain, umbrella in hand.
She sighed deeply, thinking of Parker, her anger flaring up anew.
Pulling out her phone, she immediately called Parker.
It rang several times before the jerk picked up.
Whitney took a deep breath, but couldn't calm her anger, blasting him, "Parker, I heard you're marrying Endora, is that true?"
"Who told you that?" Parker's voice was hoarse, seemingly indifferent.
Whitney was infuriated by his tone, "Tiana told me. Have you lost your mind? Ashton mentioned Endora's suicide attempt the other morning, said your old man summoned you back to Banyan City overnight. I thought you were coming to tear Endora apart. It's clear to anyone with eyes that her suicide was a farce, what's wrong with you? Planning to marry such a manipulative witch?"
"Tiana told you?" Parker chuckled coldly, a chilling edge to his laughter.
He laughed out loud, but it was a sound filled with dark malice, "She's really eager to announce my engagement!"
So, his marriage news was just gossip for her to joke about?
Parker felt the rage inside him flare up again at Whitney's words, and he couldn't help but scoff, "Yeah, I'm getting married. What's the big deal? Can't I get married?"
"But why on earth would you marry Endora!" Whitney fumed.
"Ms. Valentine, I respect you as Ludwik's lady, but my personal life is none of your business."
"You say it's none of my business, but let's see if Ludwik thinks the same when he gets back. Are you out of your mind? You have feelings for Tiana, yet you're marrying Endora. What in the world are you thinking?"
Parker suddenly fell silent. Marrying Endora had never been his plan.
He had never agreed to this arrangement upon his return, and he was determined to find a way to sabotage it.
But at the moment, he couldn't even understand his own feelings. All he knew was that if Tiana could marry Barclay, then him marrying Endora wasn't the most bizarre twist.
He wanted revenge against the woman who had shown him no affection, longing to see a look of regret on Tiana's face on his wedding day.
