Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1426: Sword and Sorcery

Since the Leoz Group had been targeted by Rawlins and the others, the Leoz Group had been in a more passive position.

It was a feeling that Marcos did not like.

He always likes to take the initiative.

As Alvaro said, this big project with the foreigners was a good opportunity to hit the Rawlins.

For Rawlins and Chris, it is equally an opportunity to hit the Leoz Group.

"The project that TS Group is bidding for overseas is a project that Leoz Group is bound to win. The Leoz Group has been planning this project for months."

Rawlins told Chris exactly what he had researched.

Chris smiled coldly, "If I didn't get it, Marcos would be upset."

"His upset is minor, more importantly, the Leoz Group has a lot to lose." Rawlins narrowed his eyes, his eyes were grim, "They have invested a lot of money in planning these past few months, and if they don't take it, those funds will be wasted."

Rawlins was sure that this time he could deliver a major blow to the Leoz Group and Alvaro.

Chris thought for a moment, "This time, not only will we not let the Leoz Group take the project, but we'll have to let it fall into our hands."

"Of course." Rawlins raised an eyebrow, "A double whammy like that would be too much for even the Leoz Group to handle."

Chris threw his head back and laughed, "We really are the best partners, we think of everything together."

"That's for sure." Rawlins raised his glass, "To our partnership."

Chris frowned and shook his head, "You're wrong, a toast to our success."

Rawlins laughed twice, "Yes, yes, yes, yes, we will succeed this time."

The two men clinked their glasses and then bowed their heads and drank from their glasses.

This time they were going to succeed!

...

In the past few days, Mark had left early and returned late every day, and Paulina knew he was busy with a project abroad. She had also planned to join the project, but Marcos stopped her.

"This time the project is a bit special, I'm afraid you won't be able to physically carry it, you should take care of the others."

This was what Marcos told her, and at first she thought he was underestimating her, but seeing how busy he had been in the last few days, she realized he was really worried about her. With the level of activity they were experiencing, her own body would be overwhelmed.

It was early that morning, before Mark and Alvaro arrived home.

Paulina was asleep and, groggy, she heard the door open.

She opened her eyes and sat up sleepily to look at the door.

In walked an elongated figure.

"Why are you back so late?" asked Paulina aloud.

"I'm sorry I woke you." Marcos walked over and looked at her with an apologetic face.

Paulina shook her head, "It's okay."

In the light of the bed, Paulina saw the bruises and blackness under his eyes and became distressed.

"How long are you going to be busy?"

Hearing the tinge of concern in her voice, a smile tugged at the corners of Mark's mouth and he reached up to gently smooth the strands of hair on her cheeks behind her ear. "The candidacy meeting is the day after tomorrow, there won't be that much work when it's over."

Paulina took his hand between hers, "I hope it goes well.

If not, all of Alvaro's and her work over the last few days would have been in vain.

Marcos looked at her tenderly and nodded, "It will."

When Marcos came out of the shower, Paulina was already asleep.

He gently climbed into bed, held her in his arms and closed his eyes.

With her next to him, it couldn't get any harder.

...

The day of the bidding.

Mark and Alvaro had just gotten off the bus and the Rawlins had just arrived.

"Brother, they're coming." Alvaro looked askance at the group of people walking toward them.

Inside were the Rawlins, Chris and the heads of some other companies they worked with.

"Long time no see, Mr. Marcos."

As they approached, Rawlins waved with a smirk, as if he had not done anything that had been done before against the Leoz Group. "What cheek!" muttered Alvaro under his breath.

Marcos gave him a sidelong glance and looked at Rawlins with an expressionless face, "Long time no see, Mr. Rawlins."

Rawlins raised an eyebrow, "Are you here for the bidding, too?"

"Or do you think we're here for sightseeing?" Alvaro scoffed derisively.

"Alvaro," Marcos scolded, but there was no hint of guilt in his expression.

Rawlins' eyes twinkled wistfully, then he chuckled twice, "Mr. Alvaro is still a joker."

Alvaro frowned, did they know each other well?

"Mr. Marcos," Chris said regretfully, "I used to want to work with the Leoz Group, but I never got the chance."

There was no sign of regret on his face.

Alvaro scoffed inwardly: "What goes around comes around!

Cold and hypocritical people get together.

Marcos went pale, without the slightest emotion at his words.

Chris was unimpressed and reached out to him, "Mr. Marcos, I hope we will have the opportunity to work together in the future."

"I don't think there will be a chance." Alvaro snatched his hand and gave it a light shake, saying with a weathered smile, "The Leoz Group is at the top of the list." With that, he let go of Chris' hand and turned to Marcos, "Brother, let's go inside."

Marcos gave a small nod to Rawlins and the others and walked in with Alvaro.

Rawlins turned and watched them enter, his face slowly sinking as he looked at the others out of the corner of his eye and said in a deep voice, "We'll go in too."

The group entered, and the bidding scene, which had been quite lively, was silenced by the arrival of Mark and Rawlins.

Everyone knew that the Leoz Group and the Bartram Group had been fighting a lot lately, and the presence of both sides at the same time in a bidding place was a sign of how intense the situation was going to be. "Brother, we have to win this project, we must not let the Rawlins get away with it!"

Alvaro said angrily, glaring at the Rawlins.

A small smile seemed to tug at the corners of Marcos' mouth, "The Leoz Group will not lose, and neither will we."

Seeing this, the head of one of the companies working with the Bartram Group became a little apprehensive and asked uncertainly, "Mr. Rawlins, are you that sure?"

Others replied, "Yes, how sure are you?

What happened to The Cajigas family, they all saw it in their eyes and were upset in their hearts.

None of them wanted to be the next La familia Cajigas.

But from the moment they partnered with the Bartram Group, they had no choice but to beat the Leoz Group.

"You don't believe me?" asked Rawlins instead of answering.

"Of course not." Several denied in unison.

"It's just that you look at Marcos with an immutable face, not even a little panicked, extraordinarily well prepared."

Rawlins turned his head to look at Marcos and snorted coldly, "He never has that look, who knows if he's panicking inside right now."
