Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1449: A Little Destruction

"The background of the JR Group is not simple, and my advice is not to cooperate." added Eliazar. Marcos frowned, "Be more specific."

"In the beginning, some companies overseas used the project concessions to entice many companies to cooperate, which was basically a sugar-coated shell that looked tempting on the outside but actually hid poison on the inside. There were some companies that were duped and went bankrupt."

"But what does this have to do with the JR Group?" asked Alvaro quizzically.

"Segundo Prince, don't you see that this resembles the partnership that JR proposed to Grupo Leoz?" asked Eliazar instead of answering.

"Indeed, it is similar." Alvaro nodded, "JR gave major concessions."

"That's right." Eliazar looked at Marcos and said with a serious look, "Prince, JR and those foreign companies have the same routine, it would be wise for us not to work with JR." Alvaro thought for a moment and asked, "Could it be just a coincidence?".

After all, JR does have a certain international reputation, unlike some of the smaller companies.

"Coincidence or not, it's important to avoid the possibility of it happening." Marcos took the floor.

"I understand the reasoning. But if JR doesn't work with the Leoz Group, it will surely go with the Bartram Group."

Alvaro feared that if JR allied with the Rawlins and the others, he would be a very difficult enemy to deal with.

"JR will not consider the Bartram Group at any time, as he is hell-bent on working with the Leoz Group."

Even if JR and the Bartram Group were to ally, Marcos was not worried.

Soldiers come and go.

There was always a way to deal with everything.

Alvaro nodded, "Okay, but I'll still send someone to keep an eye on the JR Group."

Marcos reflected for a moment and said to Eliazar: "Keep investigating the purpose of the JR Group's entry into the national market, I will not allow anyone to alter the existing market order." "Once it is proven that JR has the same intentions as the overseas companies, be sure to report to me."

Eliazar bowed his head respectfully, "Yes."

With Paulina's attentive company, Esteban's situation was much better.

That day, Paulina made a point of taking him and Sweety to the mall playground to play.

He sat on a bench outside and watched the two little figures playing in the playground with a smile on Sweety's face.

The days had been slowly calming down lately, and she hoped they would continue to do so if possible.

Linda was surprised to see someone familiar on one of her rare trips to the mall.

She reached up to remove her sunglasses, her eyes narrowed slightly and her gaze landed squarely on the woman sitting on the bench, a hint of hatred surfacing in her eyes. Paulina!

He had forgotten how long it had been since he had seen Paulina.

Seeing someone again, the years of hatred had not diminished, but had increased even more.

"Mom!"

Linda saw a little girl jump into Paulina's arms.

The little girl raised her head.

She was slightly stunned, "What a looker."

The little girl's eyebrows were practically a carbon copy of Mark's.

A complex mixture of love and hate came over her.

Linda turned to the side, pressed her palms together and closed her eyes to suppress the mixed emotions.

When she opened her eyes, there was a sadness in them.

The corners of her mouth curved into a grimace; how could she still love Mark?

Her heart had died after that man chose Paulina.

Today, she had nothing but hatred for Marcos!

Only it was Paulina she hated even more.

Thinking about this, she turned her head toward Paulina.

She saw Paulina looking down, not knowing what she was saying to the girl, who was smiling happily.

Even from a distance, she could clearly feel the warmth surrounding them.

This should have been hers!

If she had married Marcos, she would have been the one to come and play with the little girl!

"Paulina, wait! The happiness you have now, I'm going to destroy it slowly, bit by bit!"

Linda turned and walked away with a hostile air.

Paulina turned her head and looked to where Linda had been, her fine eyebrows furrowed slightly, why did she feel watched again? But there was no one in sight!

Remembering her previous experience, Paulina dared not be careless and called Marcos to pick her and the children up after work. As soon as he left work, Marcos grabbed his suit jacket and headed for the street.

Alfredo, seeing how punctual he was today, couldn't help but tease him, "Prince, only Paulina can get you out of work so early."

At this, Marcos stopped dead in his tracks and turned his head, his unperturbed gaze resting on Alfredo's smiling face.

Alfredo's heart stuttered and he slowly curved his smile.

Had he been too talkative?

"The project proposal for the TS Group should be ready by tonight."

With that, Marcos left.

Alfredo froze for a good while before reacting and lamenting, "Prince, how am I going to get it done in one night? I'll never say no again." Paulina saw that it was getting late and thought about eating out.

When Mark approached them, he laughed, "Let's go upstairs and have dinner at a random restaurant."

Hearing this, the two little ones said in unison, "Yes!".

A faint smile tugged at the corners of Marcos' mouth, "As you wish."

During dinner and on the way back, Paulina mentioned that she had the feeling that she was being watched.

"This time it must be an illusion." said Paulina.

But Marcos didn't think so, "In the future, when you go out, take some bodyguards with you and don't go out alone with your children."

"It's too weird to take bodyguards to a mall or something." Paulina shuddered at the thought of that image, the turn rate was definitely 100%. "Then when I'm free, I'll go with you."

Paulina nodded, "Yeah, that would work."

Marcos lost his smile and shook his head without another word.

...

When Linda came back from outside, her whole body was like dynamite, and the maids were scolded by her when they did something slightly wrong.

"You guys are so clumsy! You can't even get this little thing right, get out of here!"

Chris returned just in time to witness her whole tantrum, and her brow furrowed in disbelief.

"You come down." Chris walked over and glanced at the scolded maid, who hurried away.

"What's wrong?" Chris then looked at Linda, who was dark in the face.

Linda looked up and glared at him, and her tone of voice was impulsive, "What kind of maid did you get? I asked her to pour me a glass of water, but she poured me a glass of hot water, do you want to scald me to death?". Chris smiled helplessly and sat down next to her, lifting his arm around her shoulders and saying soothingly, "Don't be angry, I'll make them listen to you."

Linda grunted and said nothing.

Chris looked at her thoughtfully for a moment before speaking up and asking, "I don't suppose it was the maid who poured a glass of hot water on you when you caught such a tantrum today, was it?"
