Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1448: Testing the Waters
Paulina went back to Marcos before she really felt at ease.
Blythe really gave off a very bad vibe.
A bit of a gloomy feeling.
It would be better to have less contact with Blythe in the future, or else a few more times, I'm afraid my heart wouldn't be able to take it.
Mark noticed that her face didn't look good and thought something had happened in the bathroom and asked with concern, "Did something happen?" Paulina smiled and shook her head, "Nothing."
"Really?"
"Really. What could have happened just by going to the bathroom." Paulina glared at him.
"Mr. Marcos and Mrs. Leoz have a great relationship!" Someone exclaimed.
The others joined in.
It was nothing more than a compliment to Marcos and Paulina for their good relationship.
Paulina felt embarrassed by the compliment, "You guys talk, I'll go sit next to you."
Without waiting for Marcos' reaction, Paulina went straight to the sofa in the corner.
Marcos was afraid that she was in danger alone, so he excused himself and set out to follow her. At that moment, Blythe approached.
"Mr. Marcos, please stay." Blythe approached him with a big smile on her face, "I want to talk to you." Marcos looked in Paulina's direction and was silent for a few seconds before speaking slowly, "Okay."
Blythe expected him to say no for Paulina, but to her surprise he agreed.
She couldn't help but breathe a secret sigh of relief and opened the door, "I'm interested in artificial intelligence."
"The Leoz Group is not the only one in the country working on AI projects, there are many other companies that are slowly getting there too."
The implication of Marcos' words was that he should not just focus on Grupo Leoz, but consider other companies as a whole.
"But in terms of technology and strength, I only trust the Leoz Group," Blythe stated her attitude directly, "I only want to work with the Leoz Group."
Mark looked at her, obviously looking like a complete stranger, but that inexplicable sense of familiarity returned and his handsome sword eyebrows furrowed. He mused and asked aloud, "Haven't we met somewhere before?"
Blythe's heart clenched, but she quickly calmed down and smiled back, "We hadn't met before we came home."
"Shangguan..." Mark deliberately mentioned these two words as he stared at Blythe, trying to see the slightest hint of a break in her face.
But I don't know if she was disguising it very well, or if she was really being paranoid, but she looked calm and there was nothing wrong with her.
"Bartram Group. Mr. Marcos is trying to say this, I think." Blythe looked at him with a sweet smile.
Marcos averted his gaze and said in an indifferent, distant voice, "I'm going to think about the association. Excuse me for now."
Without waiting for Blythe to say anything, he strided away in Paulina's direction.
Blythe turned and stared back at him, her eyes dark and frightening.
Mark, someday you'll see what a fool you were for choosing Paulina!
Paulina sat on the couch in the corner, her eyes on Blythe and Marcos, who were standing together not far away.
The two talked for a while before Marcos approached her.
As Marcos approached, Paulina asked curiously, "What did Blythe say to you?"
"Do you want to hear it?" Marcos raises his eyebrows slightly.
Paulina smiles, "Of course I do."
"Talking about working together." Marcos sits down next to her and continues, "I tested him too, but I didn't find anything wrong." Paulina looked in the direction of where Blythe was and she was already gone.
Paulina's eyebrows furrow, "Marcos, I still think Blythe is suspicious. You better keep contact with her to a minimum if you can."
Paulina didn't want any more trouble as the days were about to calm down.
Marcos nodded, "Okay."
...
When dinner was over, Blythe returned to the villa and sat on the couch, closing her eyes.
Winston walked over to her and sat down, reaching up to caress her pretty face. "As pretty as you are with this face, I still like you as you were." Hearing that, Blythe let out a groan and opened her eyes and looked at him coldly, "Earlene's dead!"
Winston froze and then lost his smile, "That's right, Earlene is dead."
Blythe sat up straighter and made an annoyed face. "That Marcos guy is too cautious and he still hasn't let go of his promise to work with us."
"You should know better than I do what kind of man he is." Winston said, "If he doesn't want to work with us, forget it."
"Forget it?" Blythe thought she'd misheard and looked at him incredulously.
All her plans were predicated on Marcos and JR working together, and if it didn't work out, all her plans would fall apart.
"Or do you have a better idea?" asked Winston rhetorically.
"I ..." Blythe took a deep breath and pushed away her mental irritation, "There really isn't a better way."
"I know you're desperate for revenge right now, but there's no rush." Winston soothed, "He won't work with JR, we can try to approach the Bartram Group."
"I don't want to work with the Bartram Group." Blythe immediately vetoed it.
Once they worked with the Bartram Group, they would be making the Leoz Group a complete enemy.
Everything they had planned against the Leoz Group would come out, and when the Leoz Group fought back, things would become much more problematic.
And who knew if Rawlins would see anything, now was not the time to let him know who he really was.
Winston hooked his lips, "Just for show to the Marcoses."
Blythe frowned, "Just for show?"
"There's no denying the power of the Leoz Group, but it's also a pain in the ass to take on some companies tied together by the Bartram Group. Marcos must be in a hurry if he knows JR is interested in working with the Bartram Group." "It's better to have a more powerful enemy than a more powerful friend."
Blythe nodded, "I see what you mean. But do you think Marcos will care?"
"He has to care. Once he doesn't care, the Leoz Group will be in a much more difficult position when the time comes."
"Well, then, do what you say."
...
Marcos and Paulina returned home.
Eliazar, who had been waiting for them for a long time, saw them return and immediately got up to greet them, bowing his head respectfully, "Prince, Paulina."
"Paulina, you go up first, Eliazar and I have something to talk about."
"Fine."
Paulina went up without saying a word.
By then, Alvaro had also arrived home.
"What's up, bro?" he was dying to know how the night had gone.
He had seen Blythe approach and talk to his brother.
"Blythe approached me personally about working together, but I didn't say yes." Marcos gave a brief account of the situation.
Alvaro raised an eyebrow, "So she wasn't disappointed?"
"It had nothing to do with me." Marcos turned his head to Eliazar, "Is there something you're doing here so late?".
"I know something about the JR Group that I feel I should tell you."
