Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1545: What an eyesore
To celebrate Marcos' return from the hospital and the recovery of his memory, Mrs. Gloria had prepared a sumptuous dinner.
Paulina walked into the dining room and couldn't help but laugh, "Mom, there's no way we can eat all of this."
"Then take your time." said Mrs. Gloria as she helped them with the soup.
Marcos put the soup in front of her and said affectionately, "Eat more."
Mrs. Gloria smiled gratefully, "You should be nicer to Paulina. During the time between your disappearance and your return, and the time you lost your memory, Paulina has suffered a lot, so you should treat her well in the future." "Mom, I will." said Marcos seriously.
"Oops, I haven't eaten yet, I'm almost full." Alvaro just watched him pat his belly and joked, "I'm full from eating dog food."
This comment made everyone laugh.
The atmosphere in the restaurant became warmer and more cordial.
...
Marcos took a couple of days off at home and went back to work.
In the afternoon, he was in his office, taking care of business.
Alvaro knocked on the door with a sad look on his face. "Brother, the Bartram family has become even more difficult to deal with since they joined forces with The Chavez family, aren't you anxious?".
At his words, Marcos, his face unchanging, went through the papers until he finished with the one in his hand and then looked at him good-naturedly. "What's the hurry?"
"Rawlins, of course! When he wasn't married into the Chavez family, he was giving us the runaround all the time, let alone now... -said Alvaro, and his words were abruptly interrupted by the realization-, couldn't it be that you already have a solution for this?"
Marcos' eyes were inscrutable and his voice muffled, "It's true that the Bartram family is strong now, and their alliance is fucked up and hard to deal with, but we can find a way to take them down one by one."
Alvaro's eyes lit up, "So who have you decided to go after first?"
Marcos narrowed his eyes with an icy stare. It's been bothering us for too long and it's an eyesore."
Besides, Linda was back in the field.
Her methods were even more ruthless than Earlene's, and Paulina was not safe as long as she remained in the country.
So the first thing to do was to get rid of Chris and get Linda and him out of the country.
Only when they were gone would Paulina be safe.
Alvaro raised an eyebrow; it looked like Chris couldn't be complacent for much longer.
Marcos contacted Eliazar overseas and told him to look into Chris's overseas holdings.
"Prince, why are you suddenly looking into this?" asked Eliazar, puzzled.
"Because it's an eyesore." Marcos said coldly, "Since it's an eyesore, we have to get rid of it."
This time, he wanted to crush Chris in the bud, so that he would never have a chance to turn around again.
"Roger that, I'm on my way."
After hanging up the phone, Eliazar immediately booked the nearest flight out of the country to investigate on his own.
In less than a week he had checked the status of Chris's company.
"Prince, Chris' company only looks good on the outside, but it's full of moths on the inside."
Eliazar's voice came over the phone, and Marcos asked with interest, "How so?"
"A while ago, Chris just raised a round of funding, but those investors seem to have dirty hands and Chris doesn't know it yet." Marcos' lips curved into an icy curve, "Then I'll leave it to you, you should know how to do it."
"Understood. Prince, wait for my good news."
"Well, don't disappoint me."
Marcos said, and hung up the phone.
Alfredo, who had been standing by his desk, looked at Marcos at that moment and couldn't help but let out a long sigh of relief.
The decisive and ruthless prince was back.
When he had lost his memory, the prince had always been a little apprehensive, but now he was back to his old self!
When Alfredo told Alvaro about it, Alvaro couldn't help but say, "At last my brother is back."
The fact that Marcos had his memory back made him feel much more secure, as if he had someone to hold on to when the sky was falling.
Alfredo smiled and was about to answer when Alvaro's cell phone rang on the first ring.
It was a call from home.
As soon as Alvaro picked it up, before he could say anything, came the panicked voice of the housekeeper: "Second Prince, the second young grandmother has accidentally fallen, her stomach hurts and she has been taken to the hospital." Alfredo saw her face turn instantly white and hurried to say with concern, "Second Prince, is something wrong?"
"Tell my brother for me, I'm going to the hospital, Bonita has fallen."
After saying that, without waiting for Alfredo's reaction, he quickly ran out.
The second youngest grandmother had fallen?
Alfredo's face changed and he ran to tell Marcos.
As soon as Marcos found out, he also abandoned his work and ran to the hospital.
Alvaro and Marcos arrived at the hospital one after the other.
Mr. Juan and Mrs. Gloria were outside the emergency room, both with worried faces.
Upon seeing Alvaro, Mrs. Gloria could not hold back tears, "Alvaro, Bonita she...."
Bonita had been in her personal care since she was pregnant and now that something had happened, Ms. Gloria blamed herself.
If she had paid more attention, maybe Bonita would not have fallen.
"Mom, don't cry, will you tell me what's wrong first?". Alvaro tried to suppress the anxiety in his heart and asked patiently.
"Just a sudden fall." Mrs. Gloria wiped away her tears, "I don't know how it happened."
"And Bonita, how is Bonita?" asked Alvaro anxiously.
