Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1544: Dad, You're Weak
The next morning, Mr. Juan and Mrs. Gloria took Esteban and Sweety to the hospital.
"Daddy!"
Esteban and Sweety ran to the hospital bed, one after the other, and plopped down on the edge of the bed, their two big eyes looking at Marcos in unison. "That's it." At the sight of the two little ones, Marcos' eyebrows softened considerably.
"Daddy, Uncle said you were hurt, does it hurt?" asked Sweety, tilting her little face up in a milky voice.
Marcos smiled and stroked her little head, "When I see you guys, Daddy doesn't hurt anymore."
"Daddy, I can hoot for you so the pain goes away fast." Sweety stomped her little legs and tried to crawl onto the bed.
Seeing this, Paulina hurried to put her down, "Sweety, be careful not to squash your daddy."
"Oh." Sweety pouted, "I just want to help Daddy sniffle."
"Daddy's not in pain anymore." Paulina patted his head and giggled.
"Dad, I looked it up on the internet, concussions need rest, so you can leave the company to your uncle in the meantime." Esteban acted like a little adult, amusing several of the adults.
"Is that what your uncle taught you?" asked Paulina.
If Alvaro didn't teach him, then the little boy was too knowledgeable and considerate.
Esteban shook his head, "No, I wanted to say it myself."
He stared at Marcos' still slightly pale face for a moment and said gravely, "It seems to me that Papa needs rest especially." "Come here."
Marcos greeted the two little ones.
Stephen and Sweety bowed as they were told.
Marcos gently carried Sweety to the bed and cupped her cheeks, "Daddy feels much better with your attention."
Stephen cocked his head to one side, his eyes filled with confusion, why was Dad feeling so different today?
"Dad, what's wrong with you?" Esteban said, lowering his voice as he mumbled, "Why doesn't he seem his usual self ...".
In his opinion, Marcos was a serious father who didn't smile and didn't usually say things like that.
Paulina put her hand on his shoulder and laughed, "Your dad has regained his memory."
Esteban was ecstatic, finally his dad had remembered!
But he didn't show it on his face, he raised his chin and said dryly, "Dad, you are so weak, how could you forget someone as important as mom?". "Since when did you get to lecture me?" Marcos tapped Esteban's forehead and looked at him with mock disgust.
"I was supposed to. If it were me, there's no way I'd forget about mom." muttered Esteban accusingly.
Paulina laughed and reached over to rub Esteban's forehead, glaring at Marcos, "Why are you harassing your own son?".
Marcos' lips curved into a smile that went all the way to the back of his eyes.
You could tell he was in a good mood.
Mr. Juan and Mrs. Gloria were also happy, their hearts were always down to earth.
"This Marcos has recovered his memory, and your father and I are very relieved." Mrs. Gloria was very excited.
She was worried that her son would never regain his memory in his lifetime; after all, the medication he was taking at the time had no effect on him. She was mentally prepared.
Thinking about this, Ms. Gloria suddenly felt strange, "I took Sener's medicine before and it had no effect at all, how come when I met him like this, I remembered everything instead?" Paulina also found it strange and turned her head to look at Mark.
Marcos reflected for a moment, "The medicine should have kicked in a long time ago, it's just that the dose Earlene gave me in the first place was so strong that it affected my memory a bit."
Paulina was still a little angry at the mention of what Earlene had done in the first place.
"Earlene didn't want you to remember us, that's why she dosed it so much." said Paulina angrily.
Mark took her hand in his and smiled slightly, "It's all in the past, don't be angry."
Paulina nodded to show she wasn't angry.
After all, Earlene had paid the price for what she had done.
Mark mused and continued, "This time the situation was dangerous and I feared for Paulina's safety, it would have been an overreaction to the stress and stimulation of the nerves in the brain that caused the memory to return." At that, he laughed softly, "Anyway, I'm fine now and I don't feel bad, I should be discharged."
"Discharged?"
Mrs. Gloria and Mr. Juan look at each other with a disapproving face.
"No, you have to recuperate in the hospital for a while until your body is really well before you go home." Mrs. Gloria said.
Marcos felt a little helpless, "Mom, I'm really fine."
"But..."
Without waiting for Mrs. Gloria to finish, Marcos interrupted her, "If you guys aren't sure, have the doctor come and check me out, as soon as he agrees, I'm discharged." So Mrs. Gloria did as she was told and called the doctor.
After the medical examination, Marcos was discharged from the hospital. This was the only way that Mr. Juan and Mrs. Gloria would be able to get out of the hospital. Back at home, Paulina helped Marcos up the stairs.
"Stay home recovering for a few days and let Alvaro and Alfredo take care of everything." said Paulina softly as she helped Marcos lie down on the bed.
Marcos lost his smile, "I'm not that fragile, there are things I can still handle on my own."
"Of course you're not fragile, I am." Paulina pursed her lips, "I don't want you to get hurt."
"Okay, I know." Marcos' heart was soft.
"Then stay still while I go downstairs to help mom."
Paulina said and turned to leave.
Watching the door close, the smile on Marcos' lips faded and his face sank.
Despite having promised Paulina that he would stay in bed resting, he got up and went to the study when Alfredo came over to report some official business.
"Prince, are you all right?" asked Alfredo with concern.
"Yes."
Alfredo breathed a sigh of relief, remembering what he had to report, and with a stern expression, said, "The people who attacked you were all sent to the police station, and upon investigation, they were indeed Rawlins' men. However, the Rawlins have suffered heavy losses this time and should not dare to make any new moves anytime soon."
Marcos smiled coldly, "Keep an eye on them and report back to me as soon as there is any movement."
He didn't think the Rawlins would be silenced by this defeat.
"Yes." Alfredo bowed his head respectfully.
"What's the status of the van driver?" asked Marcos.
"After double checking, there's nothing suspicious about the driver."
But then again, it would be hard to convince them that the accident was really just an accident.
Marcos' handsome face was tense, covered with a layer of frost, and his eyes were somber as he said, "Chris came to the field for Linda?"
Alfredo nodded, "I think so."
"Heh." Marcos sneered, "If he dares to make a move, get ready to go back to hell!".
Alfredo felt the powerful aura coming from him and suddenly felt that the thunderous BOSS of old had returned!
