Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1560: Really No Good Intentions
The smile on Bauer's face grew when he saw him freeze, "I guess, given your company's current situation, no one would be willing to offer me that price." Chris regained his attention and made a "please" gesture, "Sit down and let's talk."
When they were both seated, Chris thought for a moment before asking, "Mr. Bauer, you're not kidding me, are you?"
"Of course not." Bauer pulled a document out of his briefcase and handed it to him, "This is the acquisition contract I drafted, you can read it first."
Chris shot him a glance before taking the document and looking down to flip through it.
His eyes lingered on the purchase price for a few seconds before looking up.
"How's that, Mr Chris happy with that?" asked Bauer.
"The price is really mind-blowing." said Chris sincerely.
"So you're a yes?"
Chris shook his head as he handed the contract back, "It's something I have to discuss with the shareholders and time to think about, there's no way I'm going to tell you yes now."
Not at all surprised, Bauer took the paperwork, an unbroken smile on his face, "It's okay, there's no rush, I can wait."
"Okay." Chris stood up, a small smile finally appearing on his face, "But I have other things to do right now that won't allow me to entertain you properly."
Knowing of course that it was his order to banish him, Bauer stood up, "I'll wait for you then."
City J, Leoz Group.
Marcos received word from Eliazar that Chris had not agreed to sell his shares.
That was to be expected; after all, it was his years of hard work and Chris would not sell so easily.
So he was in no hurry.
He shut up and called Alfredo on the intercom.
"Alfredo, go and do one thing."
"Prince, you say."
"Get the word out that Rawlins has recently acquired a couple of companies."
Alfredo nodded, "Yes."
Soon the news of Rawlins' acquisitions was picked up by the mainstream media and even made it to the financial news channels.
Most of the content was that this was the start of something really big after the Rawlins wedding. And interestingly enough, several of the acquired companies are former partners. Is it too insensitive to gobble up a former partner? Snap!
Rawlins turned off the TV and leaned his body back on the couch, looking a little stiff.
Even though the news was reporting the truth, it was leading him in a bad direction, what did that make the people he would be working with in the future think?
True, he had bought the company he had worked with, but he had done so willingly.
After the media coverage, how could it have looked like he was forcing a takeover?
But Rawlins didn't know that's what Marcos was up to.
In the office of the president of the Leoz Group, Marcos was following the news on the Internet with a small smile on his lips.
It seemed that things were going much better than he had thought.
Now that the Internet is going so fast, Chris, who is far away, must also have seen the news.
When there is suspicion between people, trust slowly disintegrates.
Chris and Rawlins, for example.
"He really doesn't mean well!"
Chris lifted the lid of his laptop, his face grim as ink.
"Now he's asking them to pledge their shares and slowly annex his company." Linda laughed in exasperation, "Rawlins has really become reckless since he joined The Chavez Family!"
"If he's that desperate, don't blame me for turning the other cheek." Chris gritted his teeth and said hatefully.
He then called an impromptu shareholder meeting.
After discussion with the shareholders, Chris decided to sell fifteen percent of his shares to the Gerst Group.
Chris contacted Bauer and told him that he was willing to sell his shares, but that the details needed to be discussed in person.
The two men then arranged to meet at Chris's company.
Once they met, Bauer pulled out the contract, "Take another look at it and tell me if there are any changes you want to make." Chris took the contract and looked it over.
In fact, he had read the contract before, so he wasn't really reading it at the time, but thinking about how to sign it to his benefit. Bauer was in no hurry and sat quietly.
Only after a long while, Chris raised his head, "The shares can be sold to you, but my company does not want to merge with the Gerst Group."
"My company, you don't want to become a subsidiary of Gestalt - is that a request Mr. Bauer can accept?" Chris placed the contract on the table, his body leaning back, his legs bent and his gaze fixed on Bauer. Bauer raised an eyebrow, "Why don't you agree?"
That said, Bauer turned his head to look the computer on the table, "I need to borrow your computer to redraft the contract, is that okay with you?" "Sure."
Chris didn't expect him to agree so readily and immediately got up to bring the computer over to him. "Thanks."
Bauer quickly tapped his hands on the keyboard and soon a new contract was drafted.
Chris read it and signed his name without objection.
Bauer also signed his name and handed one of the contracts to Chris, "Good cooperation."
He held out his hand and Chris shook it, "Good cooperation."
When Chris picked up the contract, he noticed the person whose actions were assigned in the contract. --Eliazar.
Perhaps reading his mind, Bauer introduced himself, "This is the owner of our group." "Oh."
Chris had no doubt.
