Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 262: Don't face him
Back at home, Hector Rogers went upstairs but did not see Eloise Thompson in the room.
Neither does the study.
After searching all the rooms, I just didn't see Eloise Thompson.
He couldn't help but panic and hurried downstairs, found the butler and asked, "Ted, where's Eloise?" "Miss Eloise went out and said there was something going on."
Out?
Hector Rogers frowned and scolded, "I thought I instructed you to make sure you watched her and let her rest?" Seeing his anger, the butler hastened to explain, "I did stop Miss Eloise, but she was moving too fast to do so."
From what the housekeeper said, she must have left in a hurry at the time.
It should be due to internet posts.
Given her personality, she must have chosen to avoid him again.
No! He would not allow her to do that.
Hector Rogers called Eloise Thompson's number and this time it went through but was hung up before it rang for a few seconds. He proceeded to call and was again hung up.
Damn!
He let out a low curse and continued to fight.
"Sorry, the number you have called is switched off ..."
This time, it was simply turned off.
Hector Rogers clutched his phone into his hand, his handsome face so dark it could drip ink.
As he felt the temperature around him drop, the housekeeper looked at Hector Rogers with a grim look on his face, his guts turning blue.
I should have known that I would have stopped Miss Eloise at that time, no matter what.
...
As night falls, the bar gradually fills up with people.
Eloise Thompson drains her glass, raises her hand and asks for another, lifting it to her mouth.
"Don't drink it."
Egbert Chumley stopped her, "It hurts to drink too much."
Eloise Thompson did as she was told and put the wine down.
"Eloise ..."
Egbert Chumley was about to say something when Eloise Thompson's mobile phone suddenly rang.
He glanced at it and it was Hector Rogers calling.
It was a moment of mixed emotions.
Eloise Thompson rang off the phone straight away.
"Why didn't you pick it up?" Egbert Chumley was taken aback.
"There's no need." Eloise Thompson pulled her lip down before tilting her head and taking a sip from her glass.
Egbert Chumley was too late to stop it.
The phone rings once more.
Eloise Thompson pressed off once again.
Hector Rogers continued to call in without giving up, and finally, Eloise Thompson simply switched off her phone and threw it in her bag.
Her series of actions deepened the suspicion in Egbert Chumley's mind, and with her mood off, he asked tentatively, "Had a fight with him?" "No."
Eloise Thompson looks down at the glass in her hand, a few sneers curling the corners of her mouth.
It would be nice if it was a fight and an apology would make it all go away.
But it was something like that, and she really didn't know how to face Hector Rogers.
His phone call, she didn't have the courage to answer.
When I thought of this, my heart felt sour and I couldn't stop my nose from sinking, and tears almost came to my eyes.
She hastily held it back, then put on a relaxed face and said, "Alumni, never mind all that, let's drink."
With that, she asked for a glass of wine.
Egbert Chumley frowned and looked at her worriedly, "Eloise, you've already had quite a lot to drink, don't drink any more, you'll get drunk." "Drunk?" Eloise Thompson laughed softly, "Drunk is good, I'd love to be drunk."
When you're drunk, you can forget everything and your heart won't feel bad.
She picked up her drink and Egbert Chumley hastily reached out to hold her down, "Eloise, is something on your mind?"
Looking into his worried eyes, Eloise Thompson slowly curled her lips and shook her head, "No."
"Eloise, talk to me if there is something on your mind, maybe I can help you."
It really worried him and hurt him to see such a drink after drink.
"I'm really fine." Eloise Thompson gently pulled his hand away. "Eloise ..."
"Alumni!"
Egbert Chumley was about to say something else but was interrupted by Eloise Thompson, "I'm really fine, I'm just in a bit of a bad mood." Egbert Chumley gazed deeply at her and finally, with a sigh and a helpless smile, "Okay, I get it."
Since she didn't want to talk about it, he wouldn't force her.
"Alumni, drink."
Eloise Thompson smiled at him and finished her drink in one gulp once again.
"You drink slowly."
Egbert Chumley was on hand to persuade, but it was no use at all.
As if determined to get herself drunk, she poured glass after glass into her mouth.
Finally, the man slumped over the bar.
Drunk.
"Eloise, Eloise ..." Egbert Chumley patted her shoulder gently.
Not a single reaction.
Egbert Chumley could only help her up.
"I, for one, want another drink!" Eloise Thompson shouted, her face flushed crimson and her eyes closed.
Egbert Chumley laughed helplessly, "All that drunk already and still wanting a drink."
Helping the man to the car, Egbert Chumley said, "Where do you live now? I'll take you back."
As soon as she heard she was going back, Eloise Thompson immediately shook her head, "I'm not going back."
Hector Rogers must have been waiting for her.
She doesn't want to go back, doesn't want to face him.
"I don't want to go back, I don't want to go back...," she whimpered softly.
What had happened to make her so resistant to going back?
Egbert Chumley stroked her head heartily and said in a soft voice, "Yes, we're not going back."
When she didn't go back, Egbert Chumley had to find a hotel and get a room for her to stay in.
Egbert Chumley smiled gently as he watched her drift off to sleep, then came forward to tuck her in.
"Get a good night's sleep and wake up in the morning and it will all be over."
He whispered softly beside her.
As he was not comfortable with Eloise Thompson being alone in the hotel, Egbert Chumley took the room next door.
...
The Rogers family home was in a state of depression, with the housekeepers and servants not daring to breathe a word.
Rupert Rogers hurried over and, seeing Hector Rogers sitting in the living room, strides over to him, "Did your sister-in-law answer the phone?" Hector Rogers shakes his head.
"How did that happen?" Rupert Rogers frowned, "Where the hell did my sister-in-law go?"
"Daddy, where's Mummy?" Solomon asked in a raised voice as he ran down the stairs.
Hector Rogers did not reply.
Seeing that his face didn't look right, Solomon asked, "Daddy, did you have a fight with Mummy?"
"No." Rupert Rogers looked at his big brother and gave Solomon a hug, "Your mummy's busy with something at work and she's not back yet."
"Is that so?" Solomon wasn't quite convinced.
"Of course, uncle would lie to you."
Rupert Rogers turned to the butler and said, "Ted, you take the young master upstairs."
"Good."
The butler came over to take Solomon but he dodged him.
"I'm going to wait here for Mummy to come back."
Solomon sat on his butt on the sofa.
Seeing this, Rupert Rogers coaxed, "Solomon, be a good boy and go upstairs, your daddy and I have something to talk about."
Coaxed by Rupert Rogers, Solomon dutifully made his way upstairs.
And the servants were dismissed by Rupert Rogers, who looked at his gloomy elder brother, sighed and said, "Brother, after what happened, my sister-in-law must be in turmoil, not knowing how she is going to face you, so just let her calm down for one night and talk to her tomorrow."
He said it, and Hector Rogers understood it, only he was afraid she would keep avoiding it.
Rupert Rogers stepped forward and patted him on the shoulder, reassuringly saying, "Don't worry, brother, your sister-in-law loves you so much, how could she leave you?"
Is it? Hector Rogers doesn't have a clue.
