Love Is Bad, By All Means -
Chapter 17 Engagement Notice
"Emma?"
Jeremy pushed the crowd aside to hold her from falling, patted her pale cheeks and call her name. but her breath was weak, motionless. "Sir, what should we do?"
The assistant behind him decided to take them away first in such a chaos.
"You go for the doctor to tell him I will cover all of her medical fee!"
He said in cold voice and then carried her up to walk to the ward upstairs.
Several days later, down in the quiet ward, colors came back to her cheeks, and then she was sleeping in the sickbed, with Jeremy beside her who had stayed with her always. "Sir, here you are."
The assistant opened the door and handed him over a black box.
"Was everything taken care of?"
"Yes!"
Jeremy nodded and waved him to leave.
She was awake from the dreams and the first sense she felt was the sore throat which made swallowing a luxury.
She looked around slowly to see Jeremy was beside her sickbed with a worried expression.
"Emma? You are awake!"
He looked up and pushed his chair closer while speaking attentively.
Emma put on a cold face and turn away, speechless.
"You are not recovered yet. We will leave here in a couple of days!"
Jeremy kept on smiling as he didn't want to mention what happened, even though he knew the truth would come out soon.
"I won't leave!"
Her weak voice made him a bit angry, and quietness overwhelmed the ward.
"Can you wake up? Will is engaged, and you..."
"What did you say?" "What happened to Will?"
Upon hearing Will's name, Emma got excited and pulled away the cover to stand up quickly.
"Take a good rest now, and forget what I said!"
Jeremy realized he said them impulsively and turned about to leave the ward.
After having been discharged from the hospital, Emma followed Jeremy to live in his house.
As the accounting gap was not supplemented in the company, they could only wait for further handling. The house was sold by Jenifer for cash, who couldn't wait to cash in.
"Emma, this is your room. It will be cleaned by the helper. You don't need to do anything!"
Jeremy opened the door to the bedroom on the second floor, where a few pieces of furniture made her feel comfortable.
She nodded lightly and sat at the bedside. She left the hospital with her mother's urn in hands, and didn't talk much.
He sighed lightly and closed the door gently.
While Sherry and Will were busy with choosing the wedding gown.
"Miss, this is the best style in our shop. Please take a look!"
The shop assistant took out a beautiful gown in her hand and explained. The gown was delicate in details and she got to know Sherry's taste too.
"Babe, what do you think about this piece?"
Sherry liked that piece very much so that she asked Will who was sitting in the couch reading magazine.
"Oh? It looks nice."
Will came back at her voice, confused.
"Miss? So...?"
The shop assistant was still asking, but Sherry threw the clothes straight away.
"I don't want this one!"
Sherry went furious, while her voice still sounding in the shop, she came to Will, pouting.

"I didn't. I have some unsolved issues in mind. Maybe we should come again some other day!"
Will stood up and talked sweetly to that woman patiently, but his mind was not on the wedding at all.
There were some other couples in the shop for wedding dress. They were standing far aside when they saw Sherry burst into anger. They didn't want to be influenced by her. "You don't love me!"
Sherry complained and must question Will in front of others.
"Don't be unreasonable!"
Will lowered his voice.
"I don't care. You don't love me, you have been careless for many days, which means you don't love me at all!"
Sherry asked for it when she saw him leaving the shop without her. She was stomping utterly discomfited.
As the wedding day was approaching, Jenifer sent around the invitation to all she knew. She must take the advantage to squeeze each penny out of her acquaintances. Emma sat in the couch in the living room, rotating TV channels with the remote control in her hand. Out of simple click, she saw something she should never have watched.
"Today, the president of Charden Co. Ltd got engaged with Ms. Keller in Hilton hotel. The place looks extremely splendid. In two hours, we will see Sir Balgeley here again. This is our report!"
On TV, a pretty woman was broadcasting in right tempo with microphone in hand, with many luxury cars and crowds as the background. It looked packed and loud with vivid life.
