Love Is Bad, By All Means
Chapter 23 You Shouldn’t Be Here

"I don't know who said Will has come back, so that our company will go through re-acquisition. That's the reason these journalists are here for."

The assistant scratched his hair unnaturally. That was also something he just got.

"It must be that woman. Nobody else would leak the news!"

Emma sneered. Since Sherry knew she was still alive, Sherry would hold her responsible for each and every mistake as an revenge. Nobody knew what was in her mind to do so. "Go to find who leaked the information on line. We can double the payment to force the publisher to withdraw it!"

The assistant looked up at her, astonished.

"President, if we must do it in this way, I am afraid we would suffer more loss!"

"It's not the time to consider the loss. If it gets worse, more and more companies would have an eye on our assets. I won't allow it to happen."

Emma talked in sullen voice. She knew it would come sooner or later.

"Yes, president!"

In fact, since her mother died, she was the only one who had been managing that company, even though it was just a shell.

The shareholders made a chaos as soon as they knew the assets were empty. It was Emma who fought through all the difficulties, which nobody would understand.

It was about the closing time, the journalists left gradually. Emma was in the office, watching them leaving downstairs, pondering.

"Are you okay? You look unhappy. Did anyone make troubles with you?"

Jeremy folded his hands in front of his chest, entering with meaningful smile.

"I've had enough of all this. Don't mock me!"

Emma twisted her lips and walked over to get a document from the table.

"Obviously, you have found out who did this. I'm afraid my favor ends before it even started."

"Most likely we share the same opinion!"

She looked at Jeremy gentle. He could always make her calm down.

Jeremy went up to hold her hand, but she unnaturally got it out. He knew something happened and asked indirectly.

"Did you meet him?"

Emma nodded almost unnoticeable, speechless.

"Then will you return to the house with me later? Or go back to your father's?"

"I want to go back to my father. I am afraid I won't go to your place. Can you give me a couple of days to clear my head?"

Her car stopped at the brightly-lit house. She got out of the car with key in her hand. A burst of laughter could be heard before she even opened the door.

"Mr. Balgley, you are so intelligent! I even haven't seen the difference!"

Suzie smiled with satisfaction with her hands patting her chest.

Her father sat in the wheel chair with newspaper in his hand, and a pen in his right hand. It seemed he was caught up in his thoughts. Will was interacting with Suzie at the side.

It looked like they were a family if you didn't pay close attention, and the outsider was Emma herself.

"Miss, you are back!"

Suzie turned her head and saw her at the door. The other two turned their heads to her too upon Suzie's voice.

Emma responded slightly and walked straight to her bedroom.

It was almost 11pm, but Will had no intention to leave.

He accompanied her father while he was reading newspaper, and afterwards, he was chatting with him happily, which was so familiar.

Emma had changed her clothes and came down to the living room. She took his arm going outside of the house.

"What do you want to do? Don't pretend to do all these! I don't need."

She was angry while questioning him.

"I just want to see you and your father. I know you can't forget what happened before. But no matter how long it takes for you to forgive me, I will come often to visit your father!"

His hair was moving with the breeze, and the sharpness in his eyes has long gone. But every time when she saw his face, she felt heart-broken.

"I beg you to leave. You have hurt me too deep, so don't show up anymore!"

Emma pointed to the gate, which showed clearly what she meant to Will.

But her hand in the air was wrapped tightly in his firm hand.

"Emma, please! Don't treat me like this!"

She couldn't help herself any longer. Tears in her eyes falling down was not obvious thanks to the dark night.

"All the problems I have today were caused by you. Stop pretending and don't waste your time here. After all, with your looks and wealth, you can get any woman you want!"
