Luna Abigail
Chapter 10

(Abby’s P.O.V)

Ornata, Ellie and I are sitting in the tree-line by the private training grounds, which is only used by the ranked members of the pack and visiting packs, while Willow and Matt are trying to practice some of the magic skills I transferred to him when marking him. We laugh at his concentrated expression, and feel for him when things don’t succeed right away. He is getting the hang of things quickly despite him only being granted magic this morning.

I engage myself into the conversations with Ornata, Ellie and Greyson. They are asking Ellie many questions, and listen with raps attention as she answers everything, making her feel welcome and important. Greyson is very interested in her history as an assassin and listens without judging, complementing Ellie’s way of navigating such a dangerous world without losing her moral compass.

Suddenly Matt yells out, and Willow laughs.

“I believe you need some more motivation, alpha.” Willow says and sends me a look. I sigh, stand, and walk up to them.

“Maybe we should start with meditation. That is what I started with when I was a little girl.” Willow makes a thinking face.

“Well, that is actually what I started with, as well.” She says pondering. I laugh, and then get a genius thought.

“Why don’t we get all the warriors to do this as well? It is great to train your concentration and breathing. It will be an excellent skill in battle. If everyone has their minds sharpened, it will help them keep a level head, too.” Matt thinks for about a minute, takes my hand and heads to where the afternoon classes will begin in a little while.

Ornata, Willow and Ellie follow us there, and sit with us, waiting for the warriors to show up. We make small talk, and I can hear how Ornata is making both girls feel welcome, and part of the family already. Willow fits right in, but she is still young and carefree, welcoming people into her heart, no questions asked. Ellie, on the other hand, clearly needed a bit more time, even though I could see both Ornata and Greyson have made a good impression.

I look at my sister, pondering on all my questions, but decide this whole ‘you are now a royal, not only to every magic man and woman out there, but all werewolves as well’ thing took a presence.

“Ellie, I want to ask you some more questions about this Witch Queen thing and my magic. I am so confused. Why has no one else tried to find me? How can I rule over people I don’t know? I. I. I am not sure, I’m the one for this. What if I fail you all?” I say the last part in a soft whisper.

“Okay, first. You will make a great Queen, of that, I am sure! Second, Mallory created a shield around you, before she… Well, anyway, it has protected you until now. But now that you’ve met me and Willow, the shield will dissipate. People will come and meet you; they will feel drawn to you.” Ellie takes my hand in hers, and looks me in the eye.

“You are everything and more we’ve ever needed. You and Matt will lead the people together and make sure the fractions find harmony once again.” I blush at her praise, and don’t feel like I deserve it. I have done nothing of the sorts ever in my life, and have my doubts if I can really do all this?

‘Don’t forget about Kiera. She would have been stuck with the awful Maria, had it not been for us. And what about the spells locked inside Jason? You have accomplished so much already, Little One. And what about me? If you doubt yourself, you also doubt me.’ Galaxy’s voice of reason sounds inside my head. I guess she is right, and I need to trust in myself.

‘Damn straight I’m right. Don’t you forget it, or I will ask Blade to knock some sense into you.’ Galaxy barks a laugh and retreat into the back of my mind again.

“do you think Jax will get Winter to come with him and the pack members to Silver mist? And did they leave yet?” I ask everyone.

“Yes, both him and Kaiden have gone to get it all. They have taken a few pack members, as to not worry Winter too much when they arrive.” Matt answers.

“As for Winter coming to live here. That is indeed a good question, Abby. She is pretty stubborn, but I’m sure when Jax and your beta explain you live here, she will be happy to make the move. She always bugged Mallory to get to meet you, and when she died, Winter was heartbroken. Winter swore to get back at Black Moon for what they did, and she really wanted to go get you and take you back with her so she could protect you.” Ellie explains.

We all sit in silent after this and watch as the warriors arrive at the main training ground.

Some warriors are not from our pack. I guess they are from Winter Moon, and when they greet Matt and me, my suspicions are confirmed. I smile to myself. This will be a good thing. People from both packs will learn the technique of meditation, and will give this knowledge to the other training classes.

But my smile falters when I sense the hostility towards Willow, and especially Ellie. Suddenly, a warrior attacks the girls with an ear-piercing scream; “YOU MONSTER! GET AWAY FROM THE ALPHA AND LUNA.”

I create a barrier between the warrior and the girls Ornata and Greyson, who sit beside them. Rage has blinded the warrior, and he hammers on the barrier. Willow cries loudly as Ornata moves her to her lap to console her. Ellie glares at the man while also trying to comfort the scared girl. Matt throws the man away from the girls, but he ignores it and spring right to it again.

“Stop that! They are my guests, and family.” I shout. He ignores my shout and tries relentlessly to get to Willow and Ellie. Before Matt can react, I tap into my powers and throw the man far away, sprint at him, and knock him to the ground. Holding him in place, while trying not to shift immediately, even though Galaxy wants to tear him to shreds for scaring and attacking her family.

“HOW DARE YOU SCARE MY GUESTS LIKE THAT?” Galaxy and I scream in his face in our Luna tone. Galaxy is surfacing, livid at the warrior’s attitude. The man glares at me with venom in his eyes and spits at the ground beside me.

“They are monsters and should be killed! They are killing machines. Especially that one there.” He points at Ellie, who crosses her arms and rolls her eyes.

“Abby, please let the barrier down. I can protect myself and Willow.” Ellie says. I do as she says, but keep my hold on the thrashing man.

“What is happening here?” A familiar voice rings out. Jason.

“Your guy here is ignoring a command from the Alpha of the Silver Mist AND the fact that I clearly asked him to step down!” I spit at Jason. He is now sniffing the air and looking frantically around. His eyes set on Ellie, and he rushes to her.

“MINE!” He roars as he picks her up by her thigs. Ellie looks taken aback, but her legs immediately wrap around Jason, who leans into her neck and takes a deep breath. Seriously, what is it with these guys and the possessiveness?

Just then, the truth of Jason’s words dawns on everyone. The warrior who is still struggling to get out of my hold freezes at Jason’s declaration.

“She can’t be your mate, Alpha.” The man whimpers. Jason sends him a pointed look, not letting go of Ellie. He walks, with Ellie in his arms, to where I’m still holding the warrior down. Ellie finally seems to come out of her daze and tries to get down. Jason lets her, but keeps her tight to his side.

“You dared to attack the guests of our ally pack, and ignore the Alpha AND Luna here?” He asks with an ice cold voice. The warrior nods, seemingly ashamed. Good, he should be!

“And now, you are trying to tell me who my mate can or can not be?” Jason asks again.

“But Alpha. She is a demon. An assassin. A killer.” The man desperately tries to explain himself. “She killed my sister and her mate.” He whispers. I freeze. No, Ellie would never do that.

I look at Ellie; she shakes her head.

“I have killed no werewolves, ever. The one you are seeking revenge on is my twin sister. She has done that more times, then I can count. She uses their b***d to potions, spells and so on.” Ellie explains, while trying to escape from Jason’s grasp. He, on the other hand, is not letting her go, ever. I chuckle at the picture of the very independent Ellie, the mate, and Luna, to a very protective and possessive Alpha. Goddess, this was going to be a sight.

“You have double patrolling, and double training for the next two months. When the month is over, you will have the same a month of double training and patrolling here at Silver Mist. I don’t care what your excuse is! It is never right to attack first and ask after. I will not tolerate your insubordination towards those who outrank you, either. You can choose this, or triple training and accommodations in the cells for two months?” Jason stats. The warrior seems relaxed, so I let him go. But give him a warning look ‘attack them again, and I will hurt you.’

“I am sorry, Alpha. I chose the extra training and patrolling. And I am sorry Luna. I reacted in hatred without thinking. I hope you can find it in you to forgive my mistake.” Ellie shakes her head.

“You are not the first to mistake me with her, and will not be the last. But you are right, I am a killer and an assassin. But I just never killed werewolves. I only took assignments where the people deserved to die. And I never killed innocents. And I am a demon. You are forgiven. Besides, I’m not a Luna.” She smiles at the stunned man, and walks to him with Jason hot on her heels. She reaches her hand to the man, and he shakes it.

“Thank you Luna. And yes you are? Alpha Jason has claimed you as his mate?” The man says, confused. He turns and walks away towards the training, which is about to start. I smile at them, take Matt’s hand, waves at Willow and Ornate.

“Come on guys, let’s give the couple some space. I will introduce you to meditation and Willow can be my special helper.” She beams up at me and skips to the warriors warming up.

Before we can reach the group of people, a guard on patrol sets off the alarm. “Alpha, Luna, come quick to the eastern border. There are people here to see the Luna, and they will not leave before she shows herself. I’m not sure of their intentions.” He mind-links us.

“Ornata, stay here with Willow.” I order, before shifting and running with Matt to the eastern border. Jason and Ellie are right behind us. I will yell at them later! They need to get to know each other, and not follow us. I roll my eyes, overprotective family.

When we reach the border, there are so many people standing there. I shift back, put on an oversize t-shirt, going almost to my knees.

“See, there she is. Omg, she is so pretty.”

“Is that the Queen? She is a mere child.”

“She is powerful. You can feel her aura all the way over here.”

The murmurs of the people rises, and the someone steps forward. She is an old lady, seeming to be centuries old. But the respect from the others tells me she is someone important.

“My Queen. It is an honor to meet you at last. I am Meeri, head witch of the Rising Sun Coven. We have waited a long time to finally meet you.” Her voice is like the wind swirling in lazy circles. Soothing and drawing. I smile.

“The pleasure is all mine, Meeri. I am honored you all came here to meet me, and I promise to come visit your coven soon. But right now, I think you must return home again, seeing as my pack and mate are a bit on edge.” Meeri nods and turns to go but is stopped by a growl and a woman whimpering. I look to the side, and there is Brandon, standing close to a young woman. He gazes at her and at the man holding her to him. I can see the conflict in his eyes and the sorrow in hers.

“Brandon, look at me! Is she your mate?” He turns his head, gives me a curt nod and looks back at the woman. She seems uncomfortable in the man’s arms.

“Ms. Meeri, who is that young woman?” I ask and point in her direction. Meeri stares at the woman with distaste.

“She is my granddaughter.” She answers coldly.

“And the man holding her?” I keep inquiring. Raising an eyebrow at her indifferent attitude.

“He is the son of the head witch of the Water Coven. He is her future husband. The treaty we made to ensure peace between us state as much.” She is clearly not at all satisfied with this arrangement.

“And you are disappointed in yourself or your granddaughter?” I ask, arms crossed. Meeri gives me a side eye.

“Myself, my Queen.” She sighs in defeat. Aha! Well, if I am their Queen, they have to listen to me. So, it is now or never.

“What is your name, young lady?” I ask the woman.

“Morgan, my Queen.” She answers in a whisper. The man slaps her and scolds her for her weak answer. ‘Matt, keep Brandon at bay. She is his mate.’ I mind-link him, but he has already caught on the situation and is standing in front of Brandon.

“You are to stand down. Your Luna will handle this.” Matt says in his Alpha voice. Brandon bows his head. His eyes are telling how his wolf is trying to fight for dominance, but one growl from Blade and he backs down.

“Morgan, I will give you a choice. Please come here, alone.” Even though it was a question, the power and meaning behind it are not to misunderstand. The man sneers at me.

“She is not going anywhere without me. I don’t recognize you as my Queen! You are disgusting. As were your filthy and weak mother.” He spits in my direction, and it takes everything in me to not just kill him. I order everyone to stand down and stares at the man. I feel a surge of power rush through me. The amethyst light inside intensifies and mixes with a silver light I never had before.

“You will let her go! And you will keep quiet about things you don’t know. Or you will suffer the consequences!” I snarl at him. The silver/purple light emitting from my entire body.

Morgan walks, the man forced to let her go by my command.

“Morgan, I will give you a choice.” She nods. “This man here.” I point to Brandon. “He is the gamma here at Silver Mist. A good man and wolf, and he claims you to be his mate. You can choose to accept him and live here at Silver Mist, or you can choose to reject him and leave with your coven. Your last choice; you can leave with the rude young man over there, and reject Brandon.” At the mention of rejections, Brandon whimpers.

“That is easy, my Queen. I choose Brandon. He is gorgeous.” She blushes at the last comment. I laugh.

“Alright then. I declare, as the Queen, that Morgan is to live with her mate. We will welcome her into Silver Mist with open arms. And I invite the Rising Sun Coven to move here and live on the eastern side of the pack lands.” The last part was an “at the moment” decision. Matt smiles.

“I agree with my Luna. If the granddaughter of the head Coven witch is to be our gamma female, her family should live here as well.” The young man drowns, peoples murmur out with his screams.

“NO! SHE IS MINE. I CHOSE HER FOR MYSELF, AND NO ONE IS TAKING HER FROM ME.” He sends me an evil glare; “You will regret this little Queen. Just you wait!” As the guards jump at him, for threatening their Luna, he teleports away.
