Luna Abigail -
Chapter 11
(Third person P.O.V)
– Six days later-
As everything settles in the pack, Ellie and Jason agrees to get to know each other.
Ellie keeps living in Silver Mist, because she does not want to leave Willow, and Willow does not want to leave Silver Mist and Abby. It was at a point of no return and everyone agreed that this would have to do until we could make a new solution. Jason was not keen on having his mate living in another pack, let alone not have her at night, but this was what made Ellie and Willow happy, so for now, he would let it be.
Kaiden and Jax came back the day after Morgan joined the pack, and Winter was luckily with them.
She had not been easy to convince, but when Jax mentioned she would live and teach the Queen and her King more about their powers and magic, and be close to Ellie and Willow, she had agreed at last. They had not mentioned that their King, who was yet to be crowned, was a werewolf. They had both agreed it would be dangerous waters, and would let the girls, Abby included, handle that news.
Winter took to Abby at once, fussing and scolding like a real grandmother. She was not very fond of all the werewolves, or that her future king would be a werewolf. But after talking to Abby and Ellie, who also told her about Jason, she said she would them the benefit of the doubt, although she told the guys to treat her girls like Queens and do right by them, to which both Abby and Ellie had blushed deep.
Abby was so happy her family kept growing. The day after Morgan had joined, she had turned up marked- and with a wolf. Her wolf was named Antares.
Was this going to happen to Ellie as well? Abby kept asking herself that particular question? Ellie had also thought about it since the day Morgan turned up as a hybrid, and she had grown more nervous as time passed on. Abby could feel her sister’s panic growing and decided to talk to her.
“Ellie, come on, we are going for a walk.” Abby says as she enters the kitchen in at lunch. Ellie looks up at her sister, sandwich in hand and a defiant look in her eyes.
“I’m not in the mood to talk, Abby.” She answers. But Abby crosses her arms.
“I was not asking, sister dear! We are going for a walk and you and I are going to talk, so come on! Take the darn sandwich with you if you can’t wait to eat.” The look in Abby’s eyes tells Ellie, if she is not going by herself, her sister is going to drag her a*s out. She sighs.
“Okay, okay. I’m coming. But I am not in the mood for talking.” Ellie clarifies. Abby shrugs her shoulders and gestures for her sister to go out first.
The two girls walk around the pack lands. They watch the warriors meditate during training. They see children run around with a ball at recess at the school. The smaller kids are playing in the playground, watched by mothers and nannies.
They walk to the east side of the pack lands, and watch the progress of the new homes for the Rising Sun Coven. It is already coming along, and you can see werewolves and witches working side by side. Strength and magic coming together in harmony and understanding. Abby finds herself proud of her pack and her progress as Queen. They walk in silence, enjoying the cooler weather. Greeting people as they go about.
Ellie is the one to break the silence between them.
“I’m scared Abby. Scared of failing Jason, his pack, and myself. Scared that I can’t be the mate and the Luna, he needs me to be. But mostly; I’m scared if I let him mark me, I’ll get a wolf and it doesn’t want to be with me. Who has ever heard about a demon/wolf hybrid? It’s ridiculous. I should just reject him and let him have a chance of finding some else.” Ellie sighs and brushes the tears away with a fierce movement. She is not one to cry, but this hurt so much. She wants to be with Jason. He has been so patient the last few days. Let her take the lead, done everything in her tempo and let her know he will wait as long as he needs too. But Ellie was so afraid. What if he grows tired of her?
“Ellie.” Abby stops at a bench in the pack park. She sits down and moves for Ellie to do the same.
“Do you want to be with Jason?” Abby asks and watches as Ellie gives a brief nod.
“Well, then you should! What is the holdup? You will know nothing if you don’t take the leap of faith. Jason is crazy about you and only has eyes for you whenever you are in the room. I have seen how his eyes follow you the past three days whenever you are in his proximity. He deserves a mate who wants him and as do you!” Ellie can feel the tears stream down her cheeks.
“Besides, I bet Selen is ripping her out in frustration right now from your stubbornness. She paired you with Jason for a reason, not only to irritate her sister but also because she has seen something in you that will make a great Luna and wolf!” Abby continues, after a brief silence.
“But what if he grows tired of me? What if I get a wolf, and she doesn’t want me to be her counterpart? I’m evil, Abby. Everyone says that. I am a demon and evil.” The last part comes out in a bitter tone, and Ellie hates how the words have attached themselves to her heart. She refuses to be like they think, but she hurts every time someone won’t give her a chance, because of her genes.
“Okay, first; you need to get out of that self pity! You are not evil. Cold and distant at times, but definitely not evil. If you would just show people the real Ellie. The warm, funny, smiling and caring Ellie. You think I don’t see your looks towards Willow, Jason, Winter or even me? I see you, and I know you will make a great Luna for White Moon. Secondly; Jason will not grow tired of you! He already loves you. You own his heart, and he will do ANYTHING to make you smile. Just like Matt will do for me. And thirdly; any wolf will be lucky to have you as a counterpart. They will be crazy to complain.” Ellie looks at her sister in awe. Never had anyone praised her like this, and she was not sure how to respond without crying.
“I understand why you are the Witch and Werewolf Queen. You have a way with words. But it doesn’t change the fact that I am scared.” Ellie states as she hangs her head in defeat.
‘Jason, will you please come to the park on the Silver Mist pack lands? You and Ellie need to talk. She is scared, and she needs her mate to comfort her.’ Abby mind-links Jason.
‘Abby, is that you? Of course, I’ll come. Anything for my angel.’ Abby smiles.
‘Yes, I found out as the Queen, I can apparently can mind-link whoever I choose too.’ Abby clarifies before she closes the mind-link and waits in silence. Ellie is so far away in her own thoughts, she even gets a shock when the tingles spread in her hands. She looks up, and there on the bench is Jason.
“Jason, what are you doing here? Where is Abby?” Ellie asks confused.
“Abby mind-linked me. Apparently she can do that now that she has accepted to be the Queen, and told me you need me. What’s wrong, angel?” Jason responds with worry lacing his words.
“I. I. I don’t know. It’s all just so.. I’m scared.” Ellie whispers out. Saying it to Abby is one thing, but admitting it to Jason was something else entirely. Jason just looks at his beautiful and sweet mate, as the tears again stream down her cheeks. He can see the redness in her eyes, and he knows it is not the first time she’d cried today.
“I’m scared you will get tired of me, or the pack will not accept a demon as their Luna. I have witch powers in my b***d, but both my biological parents were demons. And what if I get a wolf when I am marked? What if she doesn’t like me, or leave me?” Ellie pours her heart out to Jason and hopes he won’t stomp on it.
“Angel. I will never tire of you! You are my life, my breath of air, my light, and my love. I know it’s early to say, but I love you, Ellie. Everything inside me pulls me towards you, and the Moon Goddess would never pair me with an evil or mean person! You are everything I’ve ever dreamed of in a mate. And you will make a great Luna for our pack. You are badass and can kick buts when it is necessary, and be sweet, gentle, caring and loving when that is necessary. You hide behind a tough exterior, but I see the girl underneath that.” Jason states.
Ellie does not know what to say? To hear him say he loves her, when all she ever craved was someone to love her and see the vulnerable girl under all the sass, snarky comments and tough exterior.
“I love you too, Jason.” Ellie whispers. Jason’s eyes widen.
“What did you say?” He asks. Did she really say what he had been craving since the day at the training field? His hopes were up, but he needed to be absolutely sure.
“I. I. I love you.” Ellie states louder. Jason picks her up from the bench and places her on his lap. Never had three words sounded sweeter in his ears! This beautiful creature loved him, and he would do anything to prove to her she would be his everything for the rest of their days!
‘Moon goddess, if you can hear me, make sure Ellie gets a magnificent wolf! She deserves the best, and she would be devastated if her wolf did not accept her. I promise to love her for the rest of my life, and thank you for this precious gift!’ Jason makes a silent prayer for their Goddess, hoping she can hear him, not knowing Selene has always selected the perfect wolf for his lovely mate. A wolf who was dying in her world to go to her human counterpart, a wolf who couldn’t care less Ellie is from demon parents.
“Please come live with me at White Moon. I promise we will visit Willow every day. We will eat dinner here minimum once a week, and you can see your family as much as you like. And they can come stay with us for some days every week, if they want. Just, please, come stay with me, angel.” Jason pleads with his sweet mate and hopes in his heart she will say yes. These last couple of days have been torture. He misses her and needs to be near her all the time.
“You promise I can visit every day?” Ellie asks nervous. Jason laughs and pecks her lips.
“Of course, I promise! They are your, and now my, family. We will visit all the time. I have even thought about asking Matt if he would like of us to build an office building, or shared pack house right between the pack. Then we will always be near, but can also run both of our packs smoothly.” Jason beams. He will do anything to get Ellie to live with him!
“Okay, we will gather my stuff from my room and talk to everyone. I hope this idea with a shared pack house can be a possibility.” Ellie says with a smile. She places her head on Jason’s shoulder and enjoys the tingles shooting through her body. Both of them just enjoy the quiet moment before they get up to talk with the others.
Ellie is excited, but also very nervous. What will the pack say? That is still a concern of hers, but she knows with Jason by her side, she can overcome everything.
They walk hand in hand towards the others, who are sitting on the lawn in front of the pack house. Clearly Willow had talked every one into having a picnic, despite of the cool weather. The people they meet, on their way, bows to show respect and greet the Alpha. A lot of them look curiously at their intervened hands, smiling like they already know there will be another Luna announcement soon.
“There you guys are.” Abby says, when they come near.
“You had a wonderful talk, I gather?” She asks with a glint of mischief in her eyes. Ellie sticks her tongue out at her sister.
“Yes, we had a great talk, actually. Ellie’s has agreed to move to White Moon and become my Luna. We will visit every day to see you all, and especially Willow.” Jason answers. Willow looks at her sister with tears in her eyes and joy in her heart. She can’t be more happy for Ellie, as she knows how much her big sister wanted to do this, and what courage it has taken her to take the leap of faith.
“You promise to come and see me, right?” She whimpers. Ellie lets go of Jason, to hug the little girl. “Of course I do, Willow. I can’t go for a day without my little firecracker. You know that.” Ellie coos. Willow giggles. Then her eyes go wide. She looks at Jason and yells.
“THAT IS AN AMAZING IDEA, JASON! A JOINED PACK HOUSE; THAT’S AWESOME” Willow forgetting not everyone can read minds, or that Jason does not know about this ability at all.
Jason jumps at the girl’s scream. He was deep in thought about the potential new joined pack house, and did not expect someone blurting it out like that.
