Luna Abigail
Chapter 38

Third person P.O.V.

It’s been a month since they caught Narine trying to cross the border. After they tossed her into the cell, Abby and the others had visited a couple of times, only to be cussed at and threatened. Especially Willow got the brunt of her scorn.

She tried to talk to the guards every time they brought her food or water. Her cell being restricted meant they couldn’t hear her, though. It was only those Morgan included in the spell that could communicate with her.

Maybe it was cruel of her, but after seeing the way Narine treated her little sister, she asked if Morgan could alter her enchantment on the cell a bit. Still making it impossible for Narine to communicate to anyone outside those now, but making her able to hear what was going on in the pack. Snippets here and there, like a twenty/four radio playing.

Morgan laughed and said I should be possible and went to work on it. Narine would not know what hit her.

Abby had been laying in bed with Matt, holding him close after he cried himself to sleep. She had received a mind-link from Morgan.

‘Abby, I’m sorry to disturb you, but this is rather important,’ she had said in a hurry. Abby shifted on the bed, sitting up some, and cuddling her mate close to her side. Matt sighed in content, but slept through her movement. He seemed like he hadn’t slept the entire time she was gone, which Galaxy confirmed. Blade had taddled through their wolf-link.

‘I’m here. What happened?’ Abby asks back, her body stiff a bit until Matt burrow closer. He must have felt it in his sleep. She smiles down at him, brushing her fingers through his hair absentmindedly.

‘Two things. First; Adriana is taking the others with her in a memory spell. She is going to show what really happened in the past, so Jonathan’s new mate can get some closure. And maybe she will as well. I was consulted and gave the green light. Hope it’s okay?’ Morgan says, nervousness in her mental voice evident.

‘Of course! You are more equipt to say yes or no, than me, and besides; you are the Mother of her coven.’

‘Yes, but you are the Queen..’

‘Which doesn’t mean you can’t decide without me. Other than a war declaration, I will absolutely not be meddling with coven hierarchy on a daily basis!’ Abby answers hotly. She is not almighty, and she will not be that kind of ruler! Morgan chuckles a bit at her answer. Relieved and happy, her soul sister is such a great Queen already, despite not being it for long.

‘And the second thing?’ Abby asks, after a minute of silence between them.

‘Huh? Oh yeah! Right before the goddesses disappeared from your room, Selene linked me. She had felt a presence in the throne room when they were giving us powers to teleport to and from. That someone jumped on a blind ride when they brought us here.’ She sounds kind of bitter, and Abby wonders who that someone can be?

‘And who is this someone?’ Abby asks.

‘Her name is Narine, and she is a threat to Willow and Adriana. Essentially to us all, if she gets the chance. She is the illegitimate daughter of Keres. Or so it is rumored, Selene says.’

Abby’s eyes widen slightly. Her fists in Matt’s hair tighten until he whimpers in his dead sleep. She loosens his hair, brushing it again. Her mind is working overtime, and Galaxy is pacing in her mind. Someone wants to hurt their little sister. Well, that will not happen on her watch!

‘What do you want to do?’ Abby finally asks Morgan, who smiles in her mind.

‘Catch her and throw her in the dungeons and toss the key in a deep hole.’ Abby laughs out loud, which jolts Matt awake. He stares up at her and into her amused eyes. She lifts a finger to keep him silent.

‘Sounds like a plan. Make sure the cell is enchanted, and she can’t communicate with others than us, Adriana, Ellie and Willow. I don’t want her to get inside help to escape.’

Seeing as Matt was awake, they talked everything over. And he told her about the plans to hold an alpha gathering soon. Everyone was getting back to him about who was attending, etc. He was excited and nervous at the same time. This meant for the pack to pledge their loyalty to us as rulers, or announce themselves as enemies to the monarchs.

Abby agreed this was necessary, but she didn’t like it. They would be parents soon, and having a pack full of strangers with the newborns, didn’t really seem right to her. However, the alliances they could get would probably be vital in the up-coming war.

She then told him about the memory spell and Narine. Especially the last topic ticked Matt off. Why were the enemies just standing in line to take over from one another? He agreed with the plan to catch her. Then he promptly shifted them in the bed, saying no more work talk before they captured Narine. And he kissed her with abandon.

Morgan and her people had weakened the barrier around the pack borders, so it seemed to be weak magic protecting them. Hiding the fact, they had set a magical trap for their special guest. It had worked wonders, and Narine had walked directly into it.

Then the next problem landed on Abby’s plate.

She felt it when her family and pack members disappeared into the spell. Something seemed out of place, but she shrugged it off to her being worried on their behalf. But when they returned, Ellie’s voice rang out in her head.

‘Abby, Jasmin and Adriana fainted! We can’t wake them, and their mates can’t sense them. We need help!’ Buy Matt’s look. He heard her too. He hurried out of bed and helped his pregnant Queen out with great care. She swatted him on the chest, declaring she was not dying, but carrying his spawns of chaos. He laughed at that, but reminded her she had been dying. Not more than a few hours before. Abby shook her head.

“It takes more than that to take me out, love.” Then she kissed his cheek and waddled out of the room. She had told Ellie to bring the girls to the infirmary. Only Jasmin sounded kind of familiar, but they had mates in her pack, and were by default her people!

****

The girls had been in the hospital for the entire month, but were still as unconscious as the day they fainted. Jeremy and Jonathan would not leave their mates’ side, and the hospital personal had put them into the same room, so the guys could keep each other company.

The others took turns to sit by the girls, so the guys to get some food, rest and bathroom breaks. Especially Jonathan was a mess. He apologized to Jasmin repeatedly. Begging her to come back to him so he could prove himself as her mate. He prayed to the moon goddess; he cried, and he yelled. His friends and family held him as he cried and consoled him when he blamed himself. He talked to Jasper and Jax, telling them how he had recognized Narine in the memories. How she had been his first mate. Then he proceeded to tell them about how she had manipulated him and ultimately rejected him. After, he had accepted her and given her his heart.

Jasper and Jax were vivid, and when they learned they had captured her in the pack lands, they wanted to torture her to tell them how to get Jasmin and Adriana back. Jax was convinced she had to be the one to enchant them. Jasper and Jonathan agreed, but Abby said no to the torture idea. The boys had pouted at her, even Matt. She rolled her eyes and shook her head. Boys and their savage ways! Honestly!

Abby was in the library to research curses and enchantments that could take away the mate bond and force someone to go into a coma, when the pain hit her belly. Morgan and Ellie were sitting with her, searching in their own books. All three of them had grown close over the last month, more close. They were all pregnant, and all of them were in the same state of the pregnancy. But for Abby, who was carrying multiplets, was due any day now. She had almost carried them to term, but the doctors told her to prepare for a preterm labor.

She brushed off the pain and kept reading. Then the pain hit again, and she winced. Morgan noticed her and asked what was wrong.

“Nothing, just some pains.” Abby answers, just as another round hit her. She makes to stand up, when she feels herself pee down her pants. She turns beet red in the face of embarrassment. Then the pain returns full force, and Matt rushes in. Feeling the pain from his mate, he rushed from his conference meeting with some of the packs coming to the gathering in three weeks. Brandon took over, having a feeling about what was happening.

A mind-link from Morgan confirmed his suspicion. He cut the meeting short, explaining his alpha would be out of commission for a while. Then he rang Isadora and Sami, asking for one of them to get Willow to the pack. The demands of the goddesses still restricted her, but she could pop in here and there. The only problem was to tell her to get there. Jax had gone back to the underworld with Willow, promising to work on a way to communicate. Jasper had stayed with his sister.

Brandon walked to the infirmary after getting Abby and Matt’s baby bag. He couldn’t quite believe he was about to be an uncle. He delivered the bag to a nurse in the room, wishing them good luck.

He turned at the scream behind him. His eyes widened at the sight of Ellie holding her large belly, and Morgan holding her. He rushed to their side, mind-linking Jason to get his arse to the infirmary ASAP! Jason rushed in a second later and instantly was at his mate’s side.

“Babe, talk to me! Come on angel, breath.” He coos. Bewilderment on his face, and worry in his voice. Then a nurse came to their side and guided Ellie into the birthing room Abby was in. Galaxy had felt her soul sister going into labor, and she had told Abby, who then had ordered Ellie to be put in her room so they could do this together.

After ten hours of labor, both Ellie and Abby were exhausted.

“Come on Ellie, we can do this!” Abby says through gritted teeth. Both girls had broken one of their mate’s hands, and cried profusely, apologizing repeatedly. Both guys had the decency to tell them not to think about it.

As the full moon rose in the sky, the contractions turned to an urge to push for the girls. The doctors gasped. The moon was crystal blue and shined inside the room. Abby screamed bloody murder. Just a baby crying filled the room. Nurses cooed at the bundle, declaring it to be a healthy baby boy.

They put him on her chest, and Abby cried happy tears, looking down on her son. Then the contraction started again, and she g*****d. The doctor urged her to push, when on the other side of the curtain they heard another baby cry, followed by Ellie telling Jason to keep his d**k away from her forever!

Abby and Ellie pushed forever, and then at the same time, the baby cries filled the room again. Their second baby was born at the same time.

Abby’s baby swirling in bright red and orange light, that nearly blinded everyone present on her side of the curtain. Her eye shone up at the nurse and her father with bright orange until they faded to the normal color, leaving a ring around her pupils.

Everyone in there was in shock and awe at the girl. It was clear she was special.

“Congratulations my Queen, it’s a healthy little baby girl.” The nurse cooed before taking her to the table where her brother lies.

Not wanting to be bested by his twin sister, the baby boy shifted to a tiny little wolf cub. The personal in the room didn’t know what to think or say. They had experienced nothing remotely like this before. The doctor cleared his throat.

“Well, well, well. Your highnesses, these two little ones are something special indeed. I suggest everyone in here swear themselves to secrecy, so we can keep them safe until they are of age.” He looked around at them all. They agreed, and everyone of them swore to keep the secrets of the twins safe until they were of age.

Both Abby and Matt laughed at their son’s antics, but inside, they were both worried. Neither had ever heard of an infant being able to shift into his or her creature. The boy shifted back and took his sister’s hand. All hearts literally melted at the sight, both male and female.

“Congratulation Luna Ellie, it’s another little baby boy.” The doctor at her end says. He smiles at her, and gasp when he sees the eyes of the little boy. He hurries over to the table, and there lay his brother, with the same abnormality. Their eyes are a mirror of each other – one deep green, one bright silver. What it means, he does not know, but he is certain they are all meant for greatness.

Both daddies were at their babies’ side, and then held one each, as the nurses placed the second baby in their mother’s arms. They drew the curtain at the top end, so the girls could see each other.

“What are my god children called?” Ellie asks tiredly.

“Maze and Amber. What about mine?” Abby asks back, just as tired, looking down at her little girl in wonder. Her eyes are a deep crystal blue, resembling the moon shining in the sky. The bright orange surrounding the pupils.

“Ezra and Joshua.” Ellies answers, with a smile.

Looking down at their children, all four of them felt the power oozing from the two sets of twins, born under the blue moon. They wondered what it meant, but for now just swelled in the happiness of labor being done with.

In another room at the hospital, Jasmin and Adriana awoke with a start. Gasping for air, confused and frightened.
