Luna Abigail -
Chapter 46
Third person P.O.V.
“Go! We will protect the pack. Get them back!” Matt yells to his mate before shifting into Blade. He watches as the girls run through the chaos, keeping everyone at bay with their powers. Sami is holding on to Astra’s fur with a firm grip, and soon they are out of sight.
Everyone around Blade shifts as well, awaiting the orders of their King. They are short and clear.
“Kill everyone. No prisoners.”
The silver moon pack and their allies launch into the battle to defend their own and the balance of the realm. This would be it, the crossway in time. If they lost, the demons would have the upper hand for the ending battle, but if they won. If they could work together to defend the light side of the realm, they would have the upper hand when judgment day arrived.
‘I love you, Abby. Please come back with our children.’ Matt thinks to himself as Blade rips through countless of rouges, demons and dark magic creatures.
Meanwhile, Abby and the girls are running deeper and deeper into the woods surrounding the pack. She has a haunch of where to go, but knows now what will meet them on the way there or when they arrive.
Galaxy halts in her steps, turning to face her sisters.
‘If anyone of you wants to go back and fight alongside your mate, I will not force you to come. This is going to be dangerous beyond anything we’ve faced before, and I can’t promise everyone will come back alive,’ Abby states over mind-link.
All the wolves shake out their fur, and Sami crosses her arms.
“We are not going anywhere, so stop trying to scare us! We are the star wolves, and we will fight to the end with and for you.” Sami says sternly in a hush voice. The others nod in agreement.
‘Abby, Galaxy. You two have given me a family. A place where I belong. I will stand by you forever, and I know Daemon will kick my a*s if I don’t return alive. So we are going to be with you. All of us!’ Isadora and Astra links as one.
None of the girls have any doubt about this. They will follow their Queen and sister to the end of the world, the underworld and beyond, to fight for balance and a chance of their children growing up in a safer world.
Galaxy turns around and leads the girls toward her bond with her children. She will get them back, even if it means she will have to sacrifice herself.
‘I’m coming Maze and Amber, I’m coming.’ She chants to herself.
Morgan, who is running directly behind Galaxy, is chanting to herself as well. Her daughter has been taken, and she will get her back. She knows Abby and Galaxy blame themselves for her daughter being kidnapped, but it is no one but the person who took them’s fault. Neither she nor Brandon blame anyone for this, and she will have to knock that into her Queen’s head when they got back.
In the forest’s thick, the wolves come to a halt in a clearing. It is obvious to Galaxy and Antares that their pups are here. But where?
“Well, well, well. If it isn’t the icky little Queen and her posse. I knew you wouldn’t come alone, so I made sure to have backup myself.” A voice says from the shadows. Galaxy growls. She knows this voice all too well. How in the realm did he escape his prison?
‘Show yourself, you coward.’ Galaxy orders, but he only laughs at her attempt.
“You can’t order me, little girl. I am not a wolf anymore, you see. I have had help to rid me of that backstabbing worthless idiot.” Galaxy takes a step back. How, when, and where?
“You are probably thinking when, where, and who by now. Right? Well, I will not go into detail, but when you returned from your little adventure down under, something snapped in me. And I could work my way out into the open. Then a lovely young woman, with the right perspectives, here in the forest, helped the rest along. And no, I do not trap him. He is dead.”
By that last statement, demons overrun the clearing. The girls tap into their powers, and even though the demons outnumber them, they fight bravely. They fight with their magic, combining them in unbelievable ways; frying, freezing, throwing and drowning demons to no end. Using their teeth and claws to rip apart those who came through their magic. Getting wounds from scratches, bits and stabs. Protecting Sami, who had to stay human.
After what felt like hours upon hours of fighting, the demon retreat for a breather. The wolves are panting, and they are on the brink of exhaustion. What keeps them going is the thought of ripping through the spy, saving the children and their mates.
In the break, the girls can feel the battle in the pack through their matebond. They feel every overstretch muscle, scratch and wound on their mates. But they also feel the love, devotion and feeling of pride in their mates. Fueling them with renewed energy to go on.
“Ugh. This is getting boring.” The voice claims still from the shadows.
“You are clearly a little more equipt than I thought, but no matter. I will just have to change the stakes a bit, huh?” He says, while snapping his fingers.
The clearing is bathed in a dark grey light, and suddenly the air is filled with the cries of three small children. Galaxy and Antares instinctively move forward, trying to get to their pups, but they can’t. They locked the three little ones inside a dark grey glass cage, filled to the brim with magic.
“Nah uh. Naughty, naughty. No touchy or the little wonders in there will die instantly.” The man says with laughter playing his is voice. He is so amused by the panicked looks on the disgusting creatures in front of him. He enjoys to be in charge, and to be able to exact revenge on the little stubborn, disrespectful girl who locked him in his own mind.
Abby has had enough of this. She tells the girls of her plan and shifts back into her human form.
“Just step forward, Leo. I know it is you, and I know why you are doing this. I will take the place for the children, and you will let them leave with my friends.” Abby says, while crossing her arms. Normally she would be so embarrassed by standing naked in front of anyone who is not Matt, especially with the male demons licking their lips in l**t, but frankly, she couldn’t care less. All that matter is the innocent babies in that cage. All. Thee. Of. Them. Mira Rose was as, if not more, innocent, than her own children. But more so, she is the future Luna of the pack. Family.
Leo cackles a deep, disturbing laughter. He steps out from the dark, drinking in the petite woman in front of him. He had to give to the moon goddess. She surely knew how to make temptation. He lifts an eyebrow at Abby, licking his lips. It won’t do only to kill her. No. He has to make her suffer and beg for death, and even then he wouldn’t give it to her. He had killed Kennock, that traitor, and his dear mate, weeks ago. Leo had visited the dungeon, talked to Narine, and made her help him find Sylla. He didn’t know why, but the moment the crack in his mind appeared, he knew he needed to seek the dungeon. Here he convinced the guards he only wished to see the prisoner, only to discover he couldn’t speak to her.
He sought Morgan, and persuaded her to include him in the spell, to make him speak to Narine. It had taken days, with Kennock fighting him every step of the way, to get full control back. But in the process, Kennock had told Jamie of him escaping and he had to kill her. It was the perfect ending as well. They used her as a sacrifice to kill his wolf and replace him with a dark magic spirit instead. Making Leo even more deranged than before.
“Well, how the mighty has fallen. Look at you, no sassy comment or snarky remark, just down to business.” Leo taunts, but Abby only stares at him. He sneers back, not liking this new willingness from her.
“Fine, you replace the brats, and they can leave the clearing unharmed.” Leo says, gesturing to the cage. Abby nods, while walking towards the children. She looks at Leo as she approaches, and he snaps his fingers. The cage disappears the instant Abby is within range. She reaches out to hold Maze and Amber, but her hand slams against something cold. He trapped her.
“Hahaha! You really thought I would just let you leave with those three abominations? You got to be kidding me. I thought you were a smart little cookie.” He snaps his fingers again, and the cage appears around the babies once more.
As Abby is trapped, the demons attack the others with a new frenzy. Full of the confidence the others are nothing without her.
But they have another thing coming for them. Even though Abby is trapped, they are by no means defenceless. Everyone fights with everything they have, and when Leo realises he is about to lose, he changes tactics again. Teleporting Abby and the children away from the clearing, and into the cave nearby.
Leo teleports himself as well, leaving the demons to be slaughtered or flee. He doesn’t really care. He has some unfinished business with Abigail to attend to, and then some children to murder.
Landing in the cave, Leo watches as Sylla taunts Abby about her mistake. Smirking while speaking of her softness and stupidity. Leo doesn’t care for long speeches and tells Sylla to shut it before everyone drops dead of boredom.
She looks livid, but then a sinister smile spreads over her face.
“Ah, yes. Abigail. Have you been introduced to my latest accomplice?” She asks, sickly sweet?
“Yes, and the same fate will overcome him as it did your last poor associate.” Abby answers smartly, sitting down on the cave ground, legs and arms crossed, an eyebrow raised and a smirk on her lips.
“Shut up, you cunt! He outsmarted you, kidnapped your precious pups, and freed my friends.” She screams in a high-pitched voice.
“Damn, did I hit a nerve there, Syl?” Abby taunts back, hoping her plan will work.
“Don’t call me that! It’s your highness or my Queen, to you.” Sylla yells back, agitated by Abby’s cockiness.
“Uh, huh? Last I checked, I was still the Queen.” She launches her aura, and Sylla flinches. Even Leo’s eyes react to her.
“Yup, still the Queen.” Abby says, popping the p.
“That’s it!” Sylla launches herself at the cage. Leo reacts quickly and removes it, so Abby won’t suffocate in there, because that would be too merciful for her.
Sylla grabs Abby by the hair, forces her head down and presses a dagger to her throat.
“Transfer the powers to me, or die right here!” She threatens.
“Eh, hard pass on that one, I’m afraid.” Abby forces out. She has a hard time breathing with the intense pressure on her head and throat.
“Tas, tsk, tsk. You won’t do it for you. You’ll do it for one of the brats. This one looks exactly like you.” Leo says with a smile, while picking up Amber.
“Big mistake buddy.” Abby says, while forcing Sylla back with her power.
“Amber, fire.” She says to her girl, knowing she will understand it. Then she directs her attention to Sylla.
“This is the last time you even came near me or my family.” She says before plunging her hand through the woman’s chest and ripping her heart out. Her eyes widen, and her mouth is agape in surprise as she falls to the ground, dead.
Behind her, Leo’s screams of agony are music to her ears. Amber has set him a flame with her powers, but the actual blow was when his master died. What he didn’t know, and what Abby relied on him not knowing, was that Sylla tied herself to him.
His death would be an unbearable pain to her, but her death would be his demise.
He lets go of the child as his body crumbles to ash. Abby jumps forward and catches her before she hits the ground.
Sitting down on the ground, she holds the children close. She tells the girls where she thinks she is and waits. They will find her through their bond.
After thirty minutes, the entrance fills with her girls. Antares rushes forward to inspect her pup. Abby tells her she is fine, a little ruffled, but fine. The girls lay down in a circle around Abby and Morgan, who has changed back to hug her girl. They need a little rest before going back.
The battle is still going on in full force.
“What are we going to do with the children?” Sami asks after a couple of minutes. Abby sighs. She will not like this.
“We are leaving them here, with you.” She then summons water and food, with the help of Morgan, to sustain the four of them. Blankets, diapers and cloths is next. When that is said and done, Abby stands up.
“I know you don’t want to, Sami. But you can’t shift. Me and Morgan will seal the cave off, so no one but me or her can get through. You will be safe.” Sami nods.
“I know, and it’s okay.” She says, while sitting down with the children.
Outside of the cave, Morgan and Abby shifts back.
They run at high speed to get back to the pack and help defend it.
Just as they are crossing the border and entering the fray of the battle, a pain like no other shoots through both Vega and Galaxy! Their mates are dying.
‘No, no, no! You will not die, Matt! That goes for you too, Jason. I have not loosing you two!’ Abby screams in a mind-link to her mate and brother-in-law. Vega howls in sorrow. Feeling the life leaving her mate, she sees red and Galaxy is not far behind her!
They are going to end this.
