Luna Abigail
Chapter 5

Abigail’s P.O.V

After Maria is captured by the packmenbers, they lead her to our dungeon cells. She kicks and scream curse words all the way, but to no avail. Her father tries to negotiate for her to be put in her own room under house arrest, but Matthew is not backing down. She challenged his luna, lost and is going to suffer the consequences of her actions. Possibly for the first time in her life.

The young alpha, Leo, and his mate Luna Yasmin, follow us back to the pack house. I try to talk to the former Luna, but she keeps throwing glances at her seething mate, and only gives me shrugs, nods or head shakes. I am also interrupted several times by the children giving me flowers, which I don’t mind at all.

She doesn’t say a word and I feel she is not treated well either. I wonder what kind of pack the former alpha has given to his son, and how said son is running things. It’s something I will have to speak to Matt about later.

I am interrupted in my thoughts when Matt tucks on my hand. We have arrived.

We enter the pack house, and my mouth hits the floor. Matt chuckles at my perplexed look.

I thought the pack house back at Black Moon was grand, but this is even bigger and more luxurious.

The house is three stories high, having the Alpha family at the top. The Beta and Gamma shared the second floor families, having one side of the floor each and they divided the first floor between a conference room, a game room, a spa room, and several rooms for visiting alphas, betas and gammas.

On the main floor, there is a huge, airy kitchen that could easily hold a hundred people. A living room with a splendid fireplace, a TV over the fireplace and three large couches around two big coffee tables. They hold everything in the pack colors; silver, grey and gold. It’s beautiful.

The basement holds several rooms for pack members, including common bathrooms with showers and a cinema room; complete with snacks and popcorn machines.

I. Was. In. Love!

“This house is. AWESOME.” I gush.

The group laugh at my antics, but Laurel is just as bad as me. She had not left my side since she shifted back and was claimed by Kaiden. Which resulted in me, Matt, Laurel and Kaiden walking together, as the two males weren’t going to leave our side either.

“I have to agree. This house is amazing, and there is so much room for everyone.” She says with a smile.

This, however, earns her a scowl from her father, to which I growl. I lock eyes with her mother, who tries to give me an apologetic smile, but she remains silent. No one acts towards one of my pack members, okay future pack members – you get my point, that way a get away with it. Both former and current Alpha look at me in shock, but I couldn’t care less. Matthew gives me a wide smile.

“In here, everyone. This room is, like all rooms here, soundproof.” He gives me a flirtatious smile before saying soundproof.

“So we can speak in private. Kaiden and Brandon, I request your presence as well. This is also regarding your mate, Kaiden. Brandon, you need to be here as my gamma, because I keep nothing from my ranking members.” I watched as Leo and his son mind-link.

“Alpha Matthew, I would like for my beta to join as well.” The young man said.

Out of the side of my eye, I see Laurel trembling with this news, and Kaiden put his arms around her. This elicits low growls from the men in her family.

“If I may.” I ask.

“First; what is your name Alpha? And second, your beta may attent given he stays away from Laurel at all times.” I state confidently. I was not having someone come in here and frighten the poor girl.

“With all due respect, Luna. My name is Jason, and my beta is currently pursuing to make Laurel his mate. He may be near her.” He states, looking unsurely at his father. I open my mouth, but close it again. I can feel Galaxy fuming in anger.

“With all due respect, Alpha Jason. She has found her fated mate, and it seems she has accepted him. This makes her our pack’s beta female, and I will have no one come near her or mistreat her on our pack lands, let alone in our pack house. He is to stay away from Laurel unless he wants my wrath upon him.” I answer, my voice ice cold. Jason and his dad look baffled. They are clearly not used to women talking back at them.

Leo laughs, and Matt sighs.

“Who, does a little girl like yourself think she is to command me or my son about OUR pack member and family? We get to decide who her mate is, and that will be the beta of our pack, as agreed.” Both Galaxy and I have already had enough of this old man.

I try to look at the Luna, but she keeps avoiding my eyes. She doesn’t seem to want to go up against her mate. She reminds me of the Luna of my old pack, who always did what the alpha said and questioned nothing.

Before I can answer, there is a knock on the door. Matt gets up to open it. In come a sleezy looking young man. He has dirty blond hair, and eyes that promised nothing good.

I raise an eyebrow at him, but he ignores my presence and bows slightly at Matt. Then his eyes scanned the room, and a loud growl rips through his throat.

On Kaiden’s lap sits Laurel, and when the new man growls, she hides in Kaiden’s chest, and starts trembling even harder. This man has mistreated her. It was clear as day.

“Would you care to introduce yourself?” I asked in an annoyed tone. His eyes sets on my face and his mouth turned down in a frown.

“Why are there women present here? Isn’t this a meeting of importance? Or just a silly…” My fierce snarl shuts him up, and I keep a hand on Matthew’s thigh to keep him clam.

“Unless you want my mate here to beat you into submission, beta Carl, I would suggest you shut the hole in your face and start showing some respect.” Matt says in a bored tone without even looking at him.

Carl sneers my way.

“Luna.” His voice was barely audible.

He sits down in the chair next to Laurel and Kaiden and is about to grab Laurel out of Kaiden’s arms when I had enough.

I stand abruptly, walk to where Carl sits, and drag his chair away from Laurel and Kaiden, which clearly surprises everyone in the room.

“I will not repeat myself – Leo and Alpha Jason. Keep. Him. Away. From. Laurel! Or I will.” Carl looks absolutely disgusted.

“Are you threatening the former and current Alpha of the White Moon pack, stupid girl?” He asks in arrogance.

I scoffed. “No, I am making a statement. Laurel has found her mate, and you will keep your hands to yourself.” I answer, staring him directly into his eyes and totally ignoring his lame attempt to insult me.

‘Matt, we need to invite Laurel to the pack ASAP. She is not safe with these people. I don’t trust them. Galaxy keeps snarling in my head. I am sensing the young Alpha Jason is okay, but is being bullied to lead a certain way by his father.’ Matt nods and turns to Kaiden and Laurel.

“Laurel Danners of White Moon, daughter of the former Alpha Leo Danners, I Alpha Matthew Blue, along with my Luna, invite you to join Silver Mist.” Matt says in a kind voice.

Her body shakes again, and I look at Leo. He is mind-linking her, clearly threating his own daughter.

I rolled my eyes and put a barrier between father and daughter so he can’t do it anymore. As his eyes clear, they become wide in disbelief.

“What is this? Why can’t I talk with my daughter anymore?” He yells.

“Because I put a barrier between her and you, as you were clearly threatening her.” I answer without missing a beat. I’m so tired of him and his poisonous ways already. Laurel looks to her brother, whose eyes soften.

“Sis, do what you deem best. Luna Abigail is right. We have been treating you wrong and you are your own person who deserves to find love and happiness.” Laurel gives him a small smile, before she turns to Matthew and I.

“I, Laurel Danners, daughter of the former Alpha Leo Danners of White Moon, accept your invite to join Silver Mist, be with my mate and become the beta female.” I feel the pack link open and can’t help but smile.

‘Welcome to our family, Laurel.’ Matt says in a joined link.

Her eyes show so many emotions, but most of all she seems relieved to be away from White Moon.

Laurel turns her head. “I’m sorry, mom, but I don’t want to…” Her mother smiles.

“Don’t apologies sweetheart. I know, and I love you!” I hadn’t heard Luna Yasmin say anything before, and it was clear why. Those men didn’t think of her as a person, but as a possession and a silent prize. I mentally shook my head in disapproval of the ancient views of that pack.

Third person P.O.V.

As everything progress in the conference room, Matthew can’t help the burst of pride swelling in him. Both he and Blade are so proud of how their Luna handles herself.

She is a natural leader, and doesn’t take any of the men’s shit. He would have intervened, but didn’t feel it was necessary. She got this, and when she created the barrier between a clearly distressed Laurel and her father, he was chuckling inside.

This was his badass mate, and she was handling everything like a queen. Little did Matthew know just how accurate that description of Abby indeed was.

“Alpha Matthew, do you not have anything to say about the way your mate is behaving?” Leo asks and forces Matt back from his daydreams of his mate.

“No.” was the simple answer. “

She is correct and has my full support. Everything said and done here is done a little unorthodox, but that does not mean wrong. Quiet the opposite.” He continues with a bright smile.

Leo’s face is turning bead red in frustration. This was not meant to happen. He was used to getting his way, and now that irksome little Luna had to meddle in things she didn’t need to. He had to think of a way to get rid of her and her Alpha. Maybe he could expand his own lands and take over Silver Mist. This needed some thinking over.

“Ahem. So if we can get back on track. It has been a long day, and time is flying by. It’s getting pretty late, and we need to discuss what is going to happen to Maria.” Abby interrupts, and Matthew smiles down at her, taking in her beauty, elegance and grace. She is a sight to behold, being in full Luna mode, and this was only her first day. She would help lead them to prosperity and make their pack better. He just knew it.

Abby can’t help but feel proud of herself. Just this morning, she only had Galaxy. But now she has a mate that wants her, a pack who seems to accept her and a position where she can make a difference in the realm. Yes, everything was turning out to be good and bright for Abby. She was home!

“Yes. Seeing as Maria…” Leo starts.

“I am sorry, Leo, but seeing as you are the former Alpha of your pack, I don’t want your opinion on this. I would much rather hear from Alpha Jason. But I suggest we stop for the night and come back tomorrow to make a final decision on this matter. It is late, as my mate said, and we are all tired.” Matthew stats calmly and looks to Jason.

He nods.

“I will come back in the morning, and we can discuss what happens to my sister. I think it is best if I just come by myself. He is right dad, you need to step away now! You are not the Alpha of our pack anymore, and this is a pack matter. She lied to all of us, and we have a lot to make up for.” He looks at his sister on the other side of the table.

“I hope you can one day forgive me, Laurel. I am so sorry for everything, and will forever, from now on, be the big brother you deserve. Beta Kaiden, please take good care of my sister. She is special to me.” He gives them a small smile, and Laurel sobs into Kaiden’s chest.

She stands from Kaiden’s embrace, much to his chagrin, and goes around the table into the arms of her brother.

“I have always wanted us to be close. Like when we were little, but Maria always got her way. She kept telling me I was a mistake, and she was the princess of the family.” Laurel confesses in her brother’s arms. Kaiden’s heart bleeds for his sweet and beautiful mate.

She has always craved a family that wanted her, and they never gave her that. He would give her the world if she asked. She was the most precious thing to him, and she was his! And his alone.

“I will say this onetime, Alpha Jason. Your beta got to be staying away from my mate. She is MINE, and I will tolerate no one touching her.”

Jason understood where he was coming from.

“I promise that my beta will not go near my sister ever again.” He shoots his seething beta a look. When Carls feels the burning eyes of his alpha, it forced him to comply and lowers his head in submission.

Laurel visibly relaxes in her brother’s arms, and Jason’s heart breaks for her. He should have protected her, but he believed all the crap his father had filled him with. Not anymore!

Luna Abigail had opened his eyes tonight, and for that he was forever grateful.

“Alpha Matthew..”

“It is just Matt or Matthew.” Matt replies, and Jason smile.

“Matt, I will come back around 9 am, and we can discuss further. I hope your Luna will join us. This all happened because my sister tried to take something that wasn’t hers by force. And we will, of course, not go to war over something like this.”

Matthew smiles at Jason, who stands up. Laurel walks into Kaiden’s outstretched arms, and watches her parents, brother, and that awful beta leave. Feeling more free than she ever thought was possible.

“Well, this has been interesting. Mind if we go to bed? We can get your things in the morning, my love.” Kaiden says and looks at Laurel with adoration. Matt nod, and they leave. Brandon, who has been silently observing, gives a smile before leaving as well. It had indeed been a long and eventful day and night.

Abby’s P.O.V.

We walk out of the conference room and into Matt’s room. Or now it would be our room. The butterflies in my stomach do a back flip at the thought of sleeping next to Matt. He is everything and more than I ever dreamed of in a mate.

He even let me lead the meeting downstairs, and didn’t once interrupt me, or tell me something was not okay. I feel proud of how I handled myself, giving I just wanted to beat those two men (beta Carl and alpha Leo) into submission. I roll my eyes internally.

“This is us, baby.” Matt draws me from my murderous thoughts. He opens the door, and my eyes go wide.

The room has the same color scheme as downstairs, but with a hint of green and blue here. At my right is a common area with a U shaped couch in light grey leather, a coffee table and a big flat screen TV. There is a king-size canopy bed, which looks so soft and comfortable.

To my left is a door going to a big and airy bathroom. And in there is a big shower, with a built-in bench and a comfortable tub. Right beside the bathroom is a walk-in closet. The closet is enormous, and I am taken by surprise when Matthew shows me my side. It is stocked, and in my size. I lift a brow at him questioningly.

“Uhm.. My mom had this stocked for you. She may or may not have checked your size in the bags you had with you and sent someone to the mall.” He smiles sheepishly.

“I love it!” I k**s his cheek, and begin exploring the new clothes all for me! Galaxy purrs in my head.

‘We have the best mate, and new family in the world.’ She says, before retreating to the back of my mind again.

“Come on baby, let’s get to bed. I hope you don’t mind sharing with me…” He looks nervous and I giggle.

“No, I would prefer to keep you close. Who knows when a new woman tries to claim you? No, no. Best to keep an eye on you and Blade.” I wink at his stunned expression and go to the bathroom. I am suddenly trapped in big, powerful arms.

“There will be no one but you, baby! You are my world, and my Queen. No one will ever compare, and I am yours forever and always.” Matt whispers in my ear. I turn around in his warm embrace.

“I know! I am yours forever and always, too. No one is taking what is mine! I am as possessive as you are, babe.” I say with mischief in my eyes.

Matt looks at me with adoration, and his eyes darken with every word. I can feel how much he wants me, but he is holding back for my sake.

“I.. You are amazing! The way you handled those men down there.. I was so turned on by how you showed them who is the boss.” He whispers in a husky voice.

I giggle.

“I will not accept some men coming into our pack and think they can tell me what to do. Because I am the Luna here, and they better show me some respect! Galaxy wanted to beat them into submission, and to be honest, the thought wasn’t that far from me either.” We walk to the bathroom and brush our teeth.

“I know. I wanted you to beat their asses as well. Just to show how badass my Luna is!” Matt chuckle.

“Come on, my fierce little Luna, we better get some sleep before the meeting tomorrow. Afterwards I am planning on a pack announcement, to tell everyone I’ve found the world’s best, most badass, and most beautiful mate! I am quite lucky in that department.” My cheeks heat from his sweet words.

“Matt..” He looks at me. “I.. Uhm.. Thank you for taking this at my pace. I have been on my own for so long, and it’s still kinda weird to be around people who don’t view me as a freak.” He gives me a soft smile and k****s my forehead.

“I will take all the time you need, even though Blade is screaming in my head to mark you, so no one gets any ideas. But I will wait until the end of time for you to be ready.” He k****s my forehead again, and we lay down.

I was now wearing one of Matt’s t-shirts that I had changed into in the closet before bed. He insisted, so his scent was to be all over me in the morning. So possessive.

I snuggle into Matt’s muscular arms and inhale his scent. It is so soothing, and I soon fall into a peaceful sleep. Tomorrow is going to be interesting. But with Matt by my side I can do, and be, anything he needs me to.
