Luna Abigail -
Chapter 6
Third person P.O.V
The sun shines inside the room, where Matt is lying in bed admiring his beautiful woman. She is breathing slowly, showing she is still a sleep. His shirt on her is a sight to behold, and he feels his heart swell for his mate. The way she handled everything yesterday made him painfully hard. She had gone about everything with a graceful and direct approach. Neither he nor his father had ever achieved. The White Moon pack had always been a bunch of elitists wolves, but he hoped they could build something stronger, and maybe create some changes with Alpha Jason. Matt noticed Abby stirring in his arms. He looks down at her silvery/purple orbs, and gets lost in their swirling depth.
“Mmm, good morning.” Abby purr into his chest.
“Good morning. Did you sleep well?” He needs to know, because he himself had one of the best nights of sleep in his life.
“Yes, you are very comfortable to sleep on. And it feels like sleeping in a warm, secure blanket.” Abby gives him a loving smile and snuggles closer, not ready to start the day. Matthew welcomes her mood and wraps his arms around her tighter.
“We need to start the day, baby. Jason is coming soon.” Matthew says with a small smile, looking down at the woman already owning his heart.
Abby nods, but she really doesn’t want to get out of bed.
“What time is it?” She asks.
“Almost 8 am.” Abby jumps up. It was a lot later than she thought.
“Why didn’t you wake me?” She asks, a bit panicked.
As Matthew watches his adorable mate rushing about, he can’t help but chuckle. She is so amazing, and in her panicked state, she is just more adorable than ever. Red stress spots creep onto her cheeks as she rushes into the closet and then the bathroom. Mathew gets out of bed, fetches some clothes and walks out of the room to get a shower and then meet up with Abby after. He shakes his head. She is not even fazed by changes or the fact they had slept in the same bed for the first time. No, she panicked about the time and their meeting with Alpha Jason. She is truly something else entirely, and she is already showing what a wonderful Luna she will be.
After their respective showers, Matt and Abby meet up in their room. She is embarrassed about how she handled herself before, and when she tells Matt as much, he only laughs.
“Baby, don’t even think like that?! I am in awe of you. You rooted up your entire life yesterday, and your only concern this morning is if we are going to be late for our meeting.” He k****s her temple as they walk downstairs to get breakfast.
When they enter the kitchen, an old lady approach the couple.
“Hello dear. Aren’t you an absolute sight? My, my Mr. Alpha, you’ve got a real gem here.” She gives Matt a side eye.
“I’m Ms. Potter, and I’m the head omega in the kitchen. If you need anything, my dear, all you have to do is ask.” Ms Potter gives Abby a bright smile and walks away.
Abby already like her.
“I’m sorry about that. Ms Potter has been with us forever. Her family has been head kitchen omega here for generations. She is actually training her granddaughter to be her successor.” Matt says with a small smile.
“No worries, she seems so kind and almost like a grandmother type of person.” Abby gushes.
Matt chuckles and leads her to the main table. There is a widespread of all kinds of food. Abby doesn’t know where to look first. She has never seen so much food at once, not even while she lived in the pack house back at Black Moon. She had never starved, but to over-indulge like this.. This would be her first, and she was more that ready. She is a food lover and, in her mind, Galaxy agreed. This is heaven.
Abigail’s P.O.V
Kaiden, Laurel and Brandon join us at breakfast. They are all very entertained by my over enthusiasm towards all the food. Even Matt seems fascinated by my gushing over how much food there is, and how good it all tastes.
“Oh, this is so good.” I m**n, and everyone laughs at my antics.
“Abby, one should think they did not feed you back at Black Moon?” Kaiden says with a smirk. I stick my tongue out at him, but am not about to humor him with an answer.
“Kaiden let her be. She is filling up the energy to handle my brother today. She needs this. I can assure you.” Laurel says to him. I look up at her to give her a grateful smile, but the mark on her neck distracts me.
“Whoa.. What is that on your neck, Laurel?” I ask, after swallowing my food. Her cheeks get a deep shade of red, and she hides in Kaiden’s chest.
“Hey! She was defending you, food monster, so don’t embarrass her.” Kaiden comes to her defense.
“Food monster?” I asked with a raised eyebrow.
Kaiden only gestures to all the food on my plate, and I giggle.
“Okay, okay. Sorry Laurel, but seriously congratulations.” I smile at them both.
Kaiden has become a good friend in a short time, and he feels like an irritating big brother.
Matt and Brandon watch our exchange with interest, but when Kaiden calls me a food monster, Matt growls lowly. I just think it’s funny and liberating that we can talk so freely.
“Brandon.” I call out of nowhere. He almost jumped in his seat and slowly looks at me.
“I didn’t have a chance yesterday to talk with you. I would prefer if you would call me Abby or Abs. Luna or Abigail is only when absolutely necessary – so never.” I giggle at his shocked face.
“If you are sure Lu… Uhm, Abby.” He looks at Matt.
“Matt has no saying in this. I have decided to be a different Luna, and want those close to me to be my friends. And friends call each other by name, not title.”
They all look at me, and I’m afraid I said something wrong.
“Damn Alpha Matthew. Can I have your Luna?” Someone from the door asks. We all snap our heads to the man there, and then Matthew laughs.
“No, but I will let her beat you up if you try. And it is just Matt or Matthew, remember?” Alpha Jason chuckle.
“Then I insist you just call me Jay or Jason.” Matt and I stand up to greet Jay and go to the conference room. We have a lot to talk about. Before we go, Jason hugs Laurel and congratulates her on the marking, making her blush once more. He then shakes Kaiden’s hand with a smile.
“So, we need to discuss my sister, but I also want to discuss something else with you.” Jason states as we sit down in the conference room.
“I have been talking to my father, and he does not seem overly fond of me breaking free from his grasp and thinking on my own.” Jason shakes his head.
“Actually, he seemed really surprised and angry that I told him off. He needs to step down and accept me as his Alpha now.” I smile. Jason seems like a good man, and the fact he has told his old man off was a start. It’s steps in the right direction for him and his pack.
“What exactly did you tell your father?” Matt asks.
“Well, for starters, I will have a tournament where everyone – male and female – can fight for the positions as beta and gamma. I don’t give a damn who thinks they are entitled to the position. Carl and Macias, my gamma, are lazy and brute idiots. My father, no discussion and no buts from me, chose them.”
I furrowed my brows at that.
“So your father chose your beta and gamma? You had nothing to say… That is just wrong. He sounds like someone who doesn’t want to step back and let another lead?” Jay nods.
“That is exactly what the issue is, Luna.” Jay answers me with a small smile.
“It’s just Abby or Abs. Please, no formalities.” I say.
This is weird, and I fall back into deep thought. Why would Jason’s father choose his beta and gamma for him, and not let him do it himself? Did his father not trust in his abilities to choose the best for the job? Or was there something deeper in this mystery?
“Abby, it is then.” Jason accepts, breaking my train of thoughts.
“Well, as for my father. I am not sure if she will accept me as his Alpha and let me lead. I had to order him to stay home, because he was adamant to come here and be the one to decide with you. It was like, when we were together yesterday, something snapped inside of me. I could say my opinion again and make my own decisions, sort of.” At that, I stand up and walk over to Jay.
“Please let me look?” I ask, while gesturing to his head.
“If you have been spellbound, I will sense it.” Matt and Jay exchange looks before he nods to me.
“Close your eyes and relax. I am going to look inside you head. There will still be residues from the spell, if there ever was one.” I explain as he leans his head back on the chair, and I place my fingers on either temple. I close my eyes and look beyond myself inside Jay.
As I search around, suddenly a strange aura overcome my senses – the color is swirling between bright red and green. I concentrate on the colors and demand them to leave this young man.
They struggle to stay in place, but I am not having it. Little after little, I burn the colors away with my amethyst light.
I purify Jay’s mind and body, freeing it completely from the boundaries. When I am done, I feel drained, and sway a bit on the spot. Then strong arms envelope me and Matt’s sweet scent reaches my nose. I inhale deeply twice to get the dizzy spell to subside.
Matt leads me to a chair, and I sit down, giving him a thankful look.
“What did you do? I feel so different, like my will has been bound all this time. Even Draco says he feels different, as if he now has all his Alpha powers?” Jason states in shock.
I sigh. “You and your wolf have been under a powerful and complicated spell. It has been keeping your Alpha powers in check, and was made so your father at all times could overrule your command. He was the one they made this for, and it made you very vulnerable to his word. Like he is always right, and everything he says has to be that way.” I watch Jay’s expression darken, and Matt holds on to me.
“I.. I had my suspicions, but never something concrete. He was never one to let me help with Alpha duties growing up, always wanting to be in full control. But why did it weaken now?”
‘The spell could not be upheld in our presences. I will not tolerate someone keeping an Alpha under control like that. And when we showed everyone who and what we were, the spell cracked. Even if we didn’t void Jason for it actively, it would be broken completely by the end of today. You just helped the process along, and rid him faster of its presence.’ Galaxy tells me.
I relay what she’s said, and Jay’s eyes grow wide.
“I owe you my life, and my position as Alpha, Luna Abby. Thank you so much! I would have proposed an alliance between our two packs today, but now I hope we can become sister pack, and I will always come to your aid. Should it be necessary?” Jay bows his head to me.
“Eh, that is unnecessary. But we welcome the alliance between our packs, and I will accept it on behalf of myself and my Alpha.” Matt smiles and nods. He is once again letting me take the lead.
‘He has to doll. Even Blade recognizes us as the one with more power than him. We are a true Witch Luna Queen, being the Luna of Silver Mist and Queen of Witches. He will always let us take the lead. But will not be happy when it comes down to us fighting alongside of them. Possessive alphas.’ Galaxy snorted the last part, but I know she loves that about our mate.
“So to get to your sister, Jay. I need her punished, and I will accept nothing less. I am sorry, and in the light of our new friendship, this sounds cold. But she tried to steal my mate, my pack and harm me. This is not acceptable. And I suspect her for being in on the spell, so she could get her way with your father – but I don’t know for sure.”
Jay nods and looks at Matt.
“I agree with my Luna. Maria has threatened me multiple times with war if I didn’t comply with her wishes. But I haven never been interested in her, and told her as much. She ignored me and did what she wanted, anyway.” Matt shrugs. He wants her punished as much as I do.
“I understand where you both come from. Even though I do not agree with her actions, she is still my sister. She is now wolf-less and can do no harm. I will banish her from my pack and make sure she moves into the human realm. If you want anything more than that..” Jay trails off.
“This is good enough for me. We took her wolf away and made her human.” I mind-link a warrior, and he arrives with a scowling Maria a few minutes later.
“Mattie.. Please.. I love you, and only wanted what is best for you.. She can’t possibly..” I was already thin on patience with Maria, and her words made me angry. I growl, a low threatening sound, and her eyes snap to me.
“You are here to get your punishment, Maria, and nothing else. Matt is my mate, and nothing you say will change that.” She gives me an evil glare.
“Yeah, yeah.. I don’t have to listen to you. Where is my daddy so I can go home? ” She answers with an eye roll.
“Dad is not coming to the rescue today, Maria. I, Alpha Jason Danners of the White Moon pack, banish you Maria Danners from my pack from here on out.”
Maria’s eyes widen. “You.. You can’t do that.. I want dad, Jason! Where is he? I demand he come here and settle this.” I smirk, I was right. She knew about the spell. “Why should he come here? Jay is the alpha of the pack, and therefore, he is the one who decides what goes and what doesn’t. Unless you know something we don’t, hmm?”
Maria started thrashing against the warrior, but was no match because of her being human. “I.. I.. I don’t know what you are talking about. Jason tell her?!”
He shrugs. “Actually, I think I’d rather hear what you know about Dad, that I don’t. Why should he come here? He can’t alter my decision, but I will humor you. If Abby and Matt will allow him to come?” We both nods.
Now, this is going to be interesting.
‘Kaiden, Laurel and Brandon, please come to the conference room. We are going to have some more company, and I need you all to be present when this goes down.’ I can feel all of them nod in my mind. I am going to enjoy this.
Matt picks me up from my chair and puts me in his lap. He inhales from my neck to keep Blade calm. When Maria sees this, she screams bloody murder. I use my powers to shut her up, and everyone relaxes, waiting for Jason’s father to arrive.
