Madison had been trying to calm him down since the previous night, Ralph wouldn't leave her side. And being with her somehow calmed him down. He knows he was being selfish but he has been tearing up on the insides trying not to think about what might "Ralph, everything is going to be okay." Madison was pulling him in for a kiss.

They were having their morning coffee, it has been the longest seven days of their lives. Ralph was a trooper for the first couple of days, but nearing the D day it was his turn to be the one who was freaking out.

"I know, I love you. So much." He kissed her back with so many feelings that she was almost teary.

It could be their last intimate moment, if the baby was declared his then she will need to step back. She had cried several times already whenever he left her alone. Madison didn't know how to handle herself when she had tasted their true relationship. She has been cursing their decision to break the friendship boundaries. But she knows it was a done deal, and there was nothing that they could do to make things better. They just need to face it.

And that day they were in each other's arms trying to do just that. Up until Ralph's phone buzzed with an incoming text from Kendra.

"I need to go." He cupped his childhood friend's face and kissed her softly.

"I know... let me know, either way, soonest." Her hand was to his handsome face, the face that she had memorized for years, every adorable freckle, and his beautiful piercing eyes that always look at her with so much adoration. "I love you, Madison...no matter what the result is."

"We will be together if it's meant to be, I love you too. So much more..." she rests on his chest and inhaled his familiar scent.

This might be the last...

That morning she sobbed so hard moments after he left. All the memories of their togetherness as a couple were rushing through her mind. Their intimate moments, his sweet little caresses, and all the love they share.

Madison didn't know how she was going to face his family tomorrow. She didn't know how she was going to smile at Mable's birthday party if Ralph was going to be the dad to Kendra's baby.

Feeling tired from all the crying, her eyes felt warm. She was not feeling so good and decided to rest on her bed and put on a warm towel over her eyes.

Her phone was on silent and she overslept and didn't know that Ralph had called her mobile numerous times already. Not until she felt his warmth, as he spooned her from behind. She was still feeling lethargic and decided to let him cuddled her. Madison thought she was dreaming when she heard his voice.

"Maddie, you're a bit warm," Ralph stated as he feels her forehead with the back of his hand, after taking her towel and put it aside.

She was indeed not feeling very well, all the stress had accumulated and she didn't want to know the result. She just wanted Ralph to hold her for a little while longer.

"Stay... hold me." Her voice was small, but he needed to tell her the news.

"I have..."

Madison cut his words when she turned around and snuggled into his embrace. He sighed and pull her closer knowing that she needed him.

She was back to sleep in his arms, her breathing was steady until he falls asleep hugging her in his arms.

"Ralph?" she was surprised when she woke up in his embrace. Madison didn't even realize that he would still be there.

"Hey, beautiful,"

"Tell me." Her eyes were glassy as she felt her heartbreaking, she looked at him deeply when he shook his head and told her that he was not the dad.

But she breakdown anyway, and he was there to hold her.

"I love you, Madison. I'm sorry for all of this." Ralph whispered as he holds her close in his arms.

"I love you too."

She stayed still in his arms when he lowered himself down for a deep kiss.

"So, we're going to be okay tomorrow?"

"Yeah..." she smiled sweetly, the relief was so serene that she felt her life was barrable once more.

"Let's get out, have a proper lunch, buy more gifts for Mable. I'm feeling so happy with my life at the moment."

The two young couple was engrossed in each other's embrace. They didn't know that on another apartment complex Kendra was stressing out with the result. She was truly hoping that Ralph would be the baby's father.

And when she was left to dread about the baby issue once more, she was considering that she would just forget about it and deal with the pregnancy herself. At that moment she hated the fact that she has too many s****l partners that she couldn't even know who the baby daddy is. Her drive to be accepted by the opposite gender was making her craved for male companions. And because of that, she was pregnant, alone, and totally dumbfounded with what was going to happen with her life.

"Kendra?" "Hey,"

She greeted the boyish handsome popular campus jock. Brian had called her that morning knowing that it was the D day for the paternity result. Thought he would call her and asked about it since Ralph texted him saying that the paternity test stated that he was not the biological father. And after hearing her, he knows that he needed to be with her.

"How are you?" he looked at her pale face and caresses her cheek.

"Brian, you don't have to come here..." she backed away didn't want to be the needy woman just like she was with Ralph.

She didn't want to feel the hurt of another man's rejection. Again.

"Kendra...I'm here, you need to be with someone right now."

"Why? you might not even be the biological da..."

He put a finger on her lips and told her to stop her words.

"I'm here for you now." Brian pulled her in and she shed her tears.

"I'm such a slut, I don't even know who the dad is. I don't know how I'm going to go through with the pregnancy."

"You're not, look...take this one day at a time Kendra, I know you can do this."

"Brian, I'm so embarrassed." She backed away then looked at him shyly. He was a bit taken back by her words, he didn't think that she would think of herself that way.

"Hey, come on... where's the cheerful Kendra that I know?"

The campus jock holds her face and abruptly kissed her. "Brian..."

"Sshh...come on, why don't you sit here while I fix you some lunch."

She didn't reply but do as she was told thinking maybe his companionship would be best at that time. Her mind wondered to her parents and the future ahead of her, and she knows it was not looking good.

Her mom and dad would definitely disown her and cut her off the already small allowance that she was living on, she wouldn't even know where she'd live once they know about her pregnancy.

She quickly wiped her tears when she couldn't seem to stop herself from crying. Kendra didn't want Brian to know that she was hanging onto her life by a thread. She had been so stressed out from the result that her vision was getting blurry and at some stage, she finally blacked out while Brian was still busy making her sandwich and have his back to her.

"Shit! Kendra, baby...wake up..."
