Lusting For Ralph
Chapter 25

Brian panicked and decided to forget about their lunch and took her straight to the ER.

He almost burst in fury but calm down when Kendra regained consciousness as they were waiting in the Emergency Room.

"Brian, please calm down I'm okay." Her words were throaty and she still looked pale and those facts still worry him. "No, you're not okay."

But she put her hand on his and gave him her reassuring smile and he exhaled and kissed her forehead.

It took him the whole forty-five minutes of driving like a mad man and waiting for the doctor until she was finally checked by one of the attending ER doctors after the nurse took her vitals. "You're in too much stress, and with your pregnancy hormones and the high blood pressure you fainted..."

The doctor explained more about her condition, and gave her vitamins, and told her to take care of herself and the baby.

"Sir, she needs to rest. You need to take care of her, make sure she's not skipping any meals. Drinks lots of fluid. It's your first baby I'm sure it can be overwhelming, but you also need to take care of her." The doctor was oblivious to their status, he was assuming that Brian is the father of the baby.

"He's not..."

"Yes doctor, I'll watch her like a hawk. Do you hear that baby? Now, you gotta listen to me." He gave her his boyish smile and kissed her forehead like a true couple.

She was teary, smiling back at him silently thanking him for being there for her.

Kendra was under observation for two more hours where he bought her lunch and waited until she finished her meal.

"Brian, you don't have to be here. I'm fine, I can..."

Brian cut her words by spooning her the mashed potatoes.

"Even if I'm not the father, I'll help you out. You don't have to do this alone. Are you more comfortable if I take the paternity test?"

He asked as he spooned her another bite.

"But, why do you want the burden?"

"Hey, you're not a burden. We're friends, right? friends help each other right?"

The word friends didn't quite sit well with her, but she was just glad that he was there for her.

"I don't know what to say,"

Kendra didn't believe her luck, she didn't think that Brian the playboy jock would want to help her. But that day he proved her wrong as he was there for her the whole day and cater everything and didn't leave her side until the next day. "I'm fine Brian,"

"Let me see your schedule and I'll match mine with yours so I can pick you up and drive you back."

He was looking handsome after his shower still shirtless only in his low-rise jeans. Last night he went back to his place to get his stuff saying that he was making sure that they won't be late for school.

But Kendra didn't think that he was thinking about preparing her breakfast and making sure she was all set before they go to campus together.

Her classes went as usual and she was getting texts from Brian every hour asking her about her feelings like a true stalker and it was making her smile.

Kendra was about to meet up with him when she saw Madison wrapped in Ralph's arm. They didn't see her, they looked very much in love as if they were back to being the happy couple once Kendra was out of the equation.

And that made her feeling so low, thinking how could she was discarded so easily. She was feeling like a whore, once used and thrown when another woman had replaced her.

The young pregnant student was teary from the feelings, and she walked faster while her eyes were getting blurry. She was high on emotion, she was not feeling okay, and suddenly exhausted with her life and didn't realize that she was walking too fast, not looking to her left and right.

Her mind was feeling the shame, suddenly her parents were on her mind, all the thoughts jumbled inside and she didn't even see the car that was coming fast almost hitting her if Brian didn't get to her quickly grabbing her and pulling her into his arms. "Don't EVER do that again!" he shouted and hold her tightly in his arms, she could feel his heart beating fast. But she was still in shock and didn't say anything and just stay still in his arms.

"I want to go home. Tired."

Brian was quick to carry her in his arms, a couple of students were looking at them but they all mind their own business and carry on once everything back to normal.

He was silent the whole way back to his place, he didn't even consider going back to hers. He was back to thinking about his sister Evelyn. The day he found her was very traumatic for him, and it was all coming back when he saw Kendra was walking into traffic looking distressed. "Promised me you won't do it again?"

He finally asked when they reached his luxurious bachelor pad. Kendra knows that Brian came from a wealthy family, but she didn't think he was that loaded.

And in the middle of all the grandeur, she was feeling small, more unworthy of his companion, she was not okay. With everything. "Kendra!"

He yelled at her trying to get through to her, and all she could do was shed more tears and he finally took her face in his hand and kissed her. Brian was rattled to the bones, and he was feeling things he shouldn't. All the complications that he didn't need but he couldn't seem to shake off.

"Please, don't do this to yourself. The baby. Please give it a chance. I'm here for you. I...I don't know if you...I'm feeling things for you... Kendra, baby please..."

He cupped her face and kissed her slowly while Kendra didn't know how to reply to his confession. She didn't believe him, not one bit. She was feeling so small, like she was nothing, not even to Brian.

"You don't have to Brian, it's okay. I'm okay..."

Kendra was exhausted with her life, she was feeling the helplessness. All she wanted was to take a very long sleep, she didn't know how she was going to...

"Kendra, I don't like seeing you like this."

"Brian, you deserved better."

"You think? guess what? all I want is you!"

His words were too corny, even for the sexy school jock Brian and it actually made her tugged her lips upwards and let out a burst of small laughter.

And when she did, he sees the most beautiful-looking woman. He didn't understand why he didn't see the real her until that beautiful warm afternoon. "Stay with me, I'll take care of you."

His words were firm, while he was looking at her intensely. And at that moment she knows she was falling for him. Deeper than the so-called love she felt for Ralph.
