Chapter 3056 Arabella Tampers With The Incense
King Gawain I's praise made Arabella overjoyed and made her giggle like a child, her face glowing with contentment. This made the king even happier, as she reminded him so much of Anastasia from the past. Her appearance, behavior, and even personality were almost "If Your Majesty likes it, I can get another bowl," suggested Arabella, pulling him out of his ponderings and making him smile involuntarily at her animated spirit.
identical. Had he not just been crowned and his position still unstable, he wouldn't have let her suffer such a fate.
Soon, she came back holding a fresh bowl of porridge. She genuinely cared about his health as he was vital in her quest to gather power and avenge her father's murder and her clan's destruction. Luckily, everyone wished for King Gawain I to be alive, but it was saddening that no one wanted him to live forever.
As she placed the bowl on the table, Arabella's eyes darted to the incense burner, which glowed purple not far away.
The king noticed her unusual behavior. "What is it, my love?"
Arabella's heart stuttered at his question. She would never have followed a plan this dangerous if not for Rocco's leverage over her. If Rocco had his way, it would probably cause disaster.
Breathing deeply to steady herself, Arabella reassured, "Nothing, Your Majesty. I just feel like the incense is burning out. I'll go help you refresh it!"
King Gawain I replied, "These are the servants' tasks, my love. You don't need to inconvenience yourself."
"Hmph, I consider this place our home, so these are my wifely responsibilities. Why get our servants involved?" She approached the incense burner without waiting for his reply.
The king didn't try to stop her after hearing her reply, as she attended to many things in the palace herself, and her efforts made him feel at home.
Unbeknownst to him, Arabella's
heart was racing, and her hands
would have shaken if she had not
been strong mentally. Luckily, the et
maids and guards distanced
themselves to avoid disrupting the moment between him and her, and she purposefully blocked their view by turning her back.
She managed to add an unknown powder to the incense, even with her anxiety, allowing the purple light
disperse and a delicate lavender
scent to fill the palace. "Your
ern
Majesty, notice the fresh fragrance?"
King Gawain I smiled indulgently at the happy Arabella, unaware he had fallen into a trap.
She sighed in relief when the task was completed and vowed never to get involved in such risky schemes anymore as there would be severe consequences if she were caught. She would not be able to escape punishment even though the king was now spoiling her affectionately.
"Your Majesty, your health is getting better, and you're looking more youthful. Do you think you can bring me on a tour of the entire Eshesh?"
King Gawain I's smile faded slightly, gaze slightly resigned. "Hopefully! But I know my condition. It's too difficult to cure."
Arabella perked up. "I don't care. Your Majesty promised me before! By the way, I've heard there are many skilled healers in Cathay. Why don't you invite them to heal you, Your Majesty?"
