King Gawain I had indeed thought about bringing in foreign doctors, especially Matthew, to treat his secret injury as Matthew looked like the one most capable of curing it out of all the famous doctors. Prince Gadel's elixir was proof, though it could only ease his pain. He laughed at her sudden mention of the issue. "Silly girl, have you forgotten who I am? How could a king let an untrustworthy doctor treat him?"

Arabella was temporarily taken aback before a comprehending look crossed her face after brief consideration. "That's true! I've heard of doctors cursing their patients in secret while treating them. These curses can drive them insane and make them do the bidding of the caster mindlessly. The mere thought is terrifying!" She even added in a horrified shudder.

Her seemingly passing remark struck King Gawain I like lightning, and Cathay was well-known for curse magic. There was a significant risk of being cursed if Matthew was brought in. Controlling a king indirectly meant controlling the Montiria Empire, and this decision should not be made rashly.
