Man With Super Medical Skill (Matthew)
Chapter 3383 The Cunningham Family's Economic Blockade

After wrapping up business with the Martial League, Matthew quickly headed home.

"All you ever do is yell at me, James Cunningham!"

"I'm not yelling at you; I'm just trying to reason with you!"

As soon as Matthew reached the door, he could hear their heated argument.

"Mom, Dad," he called out gently as he stepped inside.

James and Helen's heated exchange instantly ceased. Helen, her face flushing with embarrassment, avoided making eye contact with Matthew. She felt ashamed-after all, she had jumped to conclusions, accusing Matthew of cheating when Clara had appeared out of nowhere. It had all been a lie, one fabricated by Clara.

Matthew smiled softly at both of them, choosing not to bring up the incident. He understood that in a family, sometimes one side needed to show tolerance and patience for things to remain harmonious.

"It's nearly lunchtime. What would you guys like to eat?" he asked, breaking the tension with a gentle tone.

Helen hesitated, glancing at James, whose sharp look signaled her to drop the topic, but she continued. "Matthew, I... I owe you an apology. I was wrong," she said, her voice faltering.

"It's nothing, Mom. Really, it's no big deal."

"But... I think Miller came here with good intentions this time," Helen ventured, causing James' face to tighten as he silently signaled her to stop talking. "He seemed sincere. I think we should give the Cunningham Family a chance to apologize."

Hearing Helen's words, Matthew sighed inwardly, unsure how to respond to his mother-in-law. After all, she was family, and he couldn't be harsh with her.

Just then, Matthew's phone rang.

"Matthew, the Cunningham-led

alliance has launched an economic blockade against the businesses in Montiria and the pharmaceutical industries you're tied to!" Mortimer's voice crackled through the phone, heavy with concern.

Matthew remained silent for a moment, his gaze briefly flickering toward Helen before responding, "Got it. I'll handle it."

After ending the call, James shot Helen a disappointed look, frustrated by her lingering faith in the Cunningham Family.

Helen's face turned pale as the

weight of the situation dawned on her. She realized that the first attempt to attack Matthew upon his return had come from the family she had thought might reconcile the Cunninghams.

"Well, looks like I won't be able to stay for lunch."

"Be careful out there, Matthew."

Matthew gave his father-in-law a grateful nod. Sometimes, a family needed one person to be the "bad guy" and the other to smooth things over. He understood the delicate balance required for maintaining peace at home.

Matthew left the house once more, heading out into the unfolding chaos.

While on the road, his phone rang again.

"Leanna, you're a busy woman. What's the occasion?" Matthew asked with a smile when he saw Leanna Sandel's name pop up.

Leanna had been preoccupied with the Commercial Union and managing the Sandel family's affairs in Eastcliff, so it was rare for her to call.

"Matthew, there's trouble," Leanna's voice sounded tense, immediately wiping the smile from Matthew's face. "What happened, Leanna? Are those old enemies acting up again?" Matthew was referring to the families he had previously subdued through various means.

"If only it were that simple. All of your businesses in Eastcliff have been hit with economic and commercial sanctions."
