"Damn it!"

She's the President of North America, for heaven's sake!

Jaired, standing below, heard the shout from above and lowered his gaze, already mentally preparing for the unfortunate soul who dared to speak out.

Lately, Irene had been on edge - a real firecracker. If she took it personally, not many could stand in her way.

But still, he stepped forward. "Irene, let me handle him."

Irene, however, raised her hand, stopping him, and just exchanged glances with Bryan up in the watchtower.

"Jaired."

It was Jaired she called, but Bryan up in the tower stiffened, awkwardly averting his gaze, his cheeks flushing even redder.

Irene didn't notice and continued instructing Jaired.

"You and King head inside. Leave this to me; I'll deal with that man."

Jaired knew this meant Irene was in the mood to toy with her prey before finishing them off with her signature throwing knife-just like she did with those two royal pests from North America. She never cared for the consequences, always seemingly on the hunt for a fitting grave for herself.

But Jaired knew Irene wouldn't fancy the graves here.

They were too dirty, too barren, nothing worthy of her stature.

So she wouldn't be marching towards her death willingly.

As long as she wasn't seeking it, no one could claim her life.

Jaired, thus reassured, turned to King with his instructions.

"I don't know why that guy didn't stop us, but let's head inside. Seems he didn't alert anyone inside either. Did your deadbeat dad text you?"

If Fisher knew King's crew had arrived, he'd have sent threatening messages by now.

But King's phone was still silent, indicating Fisher was in the dark about their arrival.

Bryan, since laying eyes on Irene, had his mind in a whirl, feeling an overwhelming heat coursing through him, so much so that he hadn't thought to notify Fisher.

He felt alien to himself, as if something within him was roaring to break free.

The others in the watchtower just watched Irene ascend, someone nudging Bryan.

"Aren't you going to alert Fisher?"

But Bryan's mind was occupied with Irene's approaching figure and the familiar sight of the thin blade

between her fingers, as if it belonged to him.

His adam's apple bobbed, his face reddened more, but his gaze remained fixed on her.

Seeing Bryan give no orders, the others hesitated, knowing they were Bryan's men first, Fisher's second.

Irene had now reached the watchtower, giving Bryan a once-over.

"Handsome enough, resembles Jaired a bit, my type."

But she wouldn't touch any man from here too filthy.

Who knows what diseases they might carry.

Irene, arms crossed, spoke indifferently, "So, how do you want to die?"

The others were instantly enraged. "Bryan! Just give the word, and we'll take her down!"

"Yeah, daring to speak like that!"

"She's just a pretty face! A hot body, umm, nice skin too."

He would have continued, but Bryan's command cut him off, "Shut it, all of you, get down."

Confused, they also pondered the chaos that must have erupted inside with the others' arrival.

Unsure of Bryan's intentions, they wished he'd clue them in if he was planning a betrayal.

Once they left, an eerie silence settled, the desolation around them only broken by the sight of decrepit houses.

Irene couldn't stand this place, eager to dispose of this man and leave these filthy lands.

The air itself was intolerable to her.

But then the man suddenly reached out, pulling her towards him.

Irene realized his skills were far better than she anticipated. If she went all out, they might be evenly matched, a fact that surprised her given the poverty of this land

Upon her arrival, she'd effortlessly dispatched ninety-eight thugs,

her disdain for this place.

But this man was clearly different.

Caught off guard, she found herself tightly embraced at the waist.
