Mating the Female Alpha
Chapter 100 – Wedding day!

Bernice's POV

6 months later

"Oh, my goddess, Bernice!! You look gorgeous!!" Jessie squealed as she ran into my room.

I stood in front of my mirror wearing the most beautiful wedding gown I had ever seen. It was designed by the best designers around the kingdom. Jessie wouldn't let me get my dress from anyone different.

I couldn't believe that today was the day that I was marrying Landry. I never thought this day would come. I kept my long hair up and away from my neck; I wanted my mark to be seen by all eyes as I walked down the aisle to my love. My wedding dress was strapless and hugged my curves perfectly, expanding around my waists and flowing in smooth and delicate fabrics around my feet, expanding outward. There were white flowers decaling the fabrics and a couple of white flowers entwined in the curly locks of my hair.

I felt like a princess; this must be how Jessie feels all of the time.

Jessie, of course, looked gorgeous in her light pink dress.

"I'm honored you chose me to be your maid of honor," she said giving me a fond smile.

"There's nobody better," I say in return.

"Are you nervous?" She asked.

I stared back in the mirror, looking around my face that was covered in makeup from Jessie's makeup artist. Typically, something like this would have made me nervous, but I managed to shake my head and look back at Jessie. "I'm more excited than anything else," I admit to her.

She gushed into a large smile.

"I'm so glad to hear that," she breathed.

There was a knock on my door before Caleb walked in. He looked at me and instantly smiled; he was carrying Douglas comfortably in his arms. It was his job to walk with Douglas down the aisle.

"You look incredible, big sis," he breathed, taking in my appearance.

"Thank you. Are you ready to get going?" I asked them both.

They nodded eagerly. Jessie draped an arm through mine, and we walked side by side out of my room.

We didn't have far to travel; the wedding was being held in the gardens of the palace. Of course, most everything was set up by Jessie herself.

I could already hear the orchestra playing as Caleb made his way down the aisle of roses. My heart was pounding heavily in my chest as I waited for my cue to walk down the aisle. I could see Landry standing at the end, smiling fondly as he too waited for me.

I still wasn't nervous; I was eager to get this over with so I could finally start my new life with my husband and our son.

Jessie glanced at me with a broad smile.

"Are you ready?" She asked before she began down the aisle.

I nodded to her.

"I've been ready for a while," I tell her.

She turns and walks down the aisle to meet with the others at the end. Now it was my turn. I took in a deep breath as the orchestra grew louder.

Without much more thought, I began down the aisle. Everyone turned and stood to their feet, gushing and cooing at my appearance. I felt a little embarrassed about getting so much attention; I was never going to get used to this.

I glanced down at my feet as I continued walking slowly through the rose garden. There were lilies and rose petals occupying the aisle under my feet; they were two of my favorite flowers. I was pleased that Jessie remembered that detail about

me.

I was so wrapped up in walking and not tripping, that I didn't even realize that Landry left his spot at the front of the aisle to meet me halfway. He walked in long strides. He was determined to get to his destination; me.

I paused when his arm draped around mine; I beamed up at him, proud to call him my mate.

We walked the rest of the way, arm-in-arm.

...

4 years later

The sun was rising in the distance, warming the lands as those around us woke. The tent we stayed in was large and too big for just the two of us, but Landry insisted that we stayed in a large tent. I could hear the warriors waking in their own tents, getting ready for the days battle.

Landry was already awake and practicing with some of the other Alphas in the open forest. I stretched my arms as I tried to wake myself. It's been a while since I was in combat, but it felt like nothing has changed.

I slipped out of my sleeping back, throwing on a pair of jeans and a tank top before leaving the tent. I saw the men practicing their combat in the distance and I smiled; it felt nice to be back in action.

I was honestly surprised that they wanted me to return, but I couldn't help but feel incredibly honored that I was the chosen one. Even if I wasn't an Alpha, they still felt that I was one the best warriors they have.

I glanced over at the tent that Caleb was emerging from. He looked exhausted; we had been awake for most of the night without a recent battle with the bears. He glanced over at me and gave me a broad smile to show that he was ready for more action.

I met with him as he climbed out of his tent.

"Want to practice?" He asked with a playful grin.

I nodded to him, shifting into my wolf form. He followed my action and together we fought as tough as we can without harming one another. Caleb was getting a lot better at his combat; pretty soon, he was going to be much better than me. He was 19 years old and was much taller than him; his muscles had grown doubled in size as well. He had grown to be an incredible Alpha and I had never been prouder of him. However, he still has to take care of our drunk father, despite my telling him he should just boot him from the pack. He doesn't prove to be valuable, and he abuses Caleb's power. But Caleb being Caleb can't just allow his father to live on the streets as a rogue.

"He's still family," he would say.

I admired that about my brother and never argued with him about it.

As much as I loved being on the field and helping the other Alphas and warriors in combat, I also really missed my children.

4-year-old Douglas and 2-year-old Ella.

Right now, they were back in the palace with their aunt Jessie. We've only been gone for 24 hours, but I missed them so much. We were only going to be gone for another day or so, but time couldn't go quicker. Landry caught my eye from across the forest grounds; his wolf rose his head high in thy sky as the sun rose and shined its ray upon our heads.

I knew another battle was about to break loose; typically the bears waited until the sun was up because we were the strongest during moonrise. So, they waited until we were weaker. But that didn't mean we couldn't beat them, with Landry and I back in combat together we were stronger than ever. Not only because we were the best combat partners, but now that we were mates, we knew what one another was thinking and had a strong advantage.

"Are you ready for the next battle?" Landry asked as he stepped beside me. I smiled up at him.

"I was born ready," I said to him in return.

"Good," he said. "Now let's win this and return to our family."

My heart felt nothing but love and gratitude. He had no idea how good that sounded.

Just as I heard the roaring of the bears from across the forest, I crouched on the ground with the other warriors, feeling a roar escaping my lips.

I gave Landry one last look before we lunged into battle.
