Chapter 99 - Marked

Bernice's POV

I couldn't get back to the palace fast enough. As soon as I got through the front doors, I could smell the scent of my pup. He was in the living room with Caleb. Caleb sat on the couch with my pup in his arms; he was laughing and speaking in the baby which made me smile. Caleb looked up and gave me a wide grin. "We were just bonding," Caleb said fondly.

I chuckled as I made my way over to them; Landry stepped beside me to get a better look at our son and I could feel his breathing out in relief. I knew Landry would be pleased that he looked exactly like him. I could feel his heart growing in size as he stared down at the small pup.

"He's incredible..." Landry breathed; he reached out to touch the pup's cheek, running his hand down the side of his face. "He's beautiful."

Tears were welling in Landry's eyes; my heart was feeling so full at that moment. I was so happy to be with my family once again.

"He needs a name still," I tell him. "I wanted to wait for you." Landry thought about it for a moment before speaking. "Douglas," he said, glancing over at me. "After my father."

I liked it; I liked it a lot. That was fitting. Douglas the second, the future Alpha King. It had a nice ring to it. I nodded in agreement, placing my head on Landry's shoulder as he scooped our son into his arms and cradled him gently.

Later in the evening, Landry and I put Douglas down for bed. He had one of the maids set up a bassinet for him. As I sat on my bed, a bed I never thought I would see again, I stared down at my hand and smiled at the silver and diamond- encrusted ring that now occupied my finger.

A finger that was to bind me to my mate for eternity. I never thought I would be the kind of wolf to ever get married. It was never on my agenda, and I honestly thought the idea was silly. But here I am marrying the man I fell in love with. And it all just felt so right.

Landry dropped his arms around me; we were both sitting on our bed, and he kissed the back of my neck gently. I breathed into him, feeling my body grow slightly warm. I loved the way his touch made me feel. I loved his nearness and Julia was basking in his scent.

Now that we recognized one another as our mates, it was like we were even closer. Not with just our minds and bodies, but with our wolves too. They loved getting to know one another through their bond and I loved being this close to Landry.

I always wanted to be this close to him.

His fingers trailed down my bare arms, causing goosebumps to form on my flesh. I shivered slightly as he continued his kisses down my shoulders, running his fingers down my torso. He cupped both my breasts in his hands, giving them gentle and playful squeezes before turning me around to face him.

I felt my cheeks grow a little red as I stared up at him. My loving mate. This was different. I have had sex with Landry many times in the past and it was usually to relieve my agonizing heat. But this time, I wasn't going into an uncontrolled heat. I was lying in bed with the man that I loved and he was making me his own.

He kissed my lips gently at first, and then deepened his mouth into mine; I felt the softness of his tongue in my mouth, exploring me with such curiosity. I breathed in him, moaning as he broke his kiss from my lips and trailed down my chest. His tongue spread across my nipples; felt the sharpness of his teeth tugging at my nipple, bringing it into his mouth. They hardened almost instantly.

I wrapped my legs around him; I could feel his manhood between my legs, begging for entrance. I kissed him gently before allowing him to slide inside of me. I felt every sensation be provided to me. This time, he allowed me to be on top of him; he spent so long taking care of me, and now I wanted to be the one to take care of him.

I started slowly; he kept his arms wrapped around my waist as he continued kissing and licking down my neck. His member grew excitedly while it was inside of me; I wiggled my body with excitement, basking in everything he had to offer. I threw my head back as I picked up my speed, thrusting against him. He brought my breasts into his mouth again, tugging at them playfully.

"Oh, Landry..." I gasped.

I never wanted this moment to end.

I brought my lips down to his and kissed him passionately as I continued thrusting. The sounds of his moans filled my ears. Everything about him was so incredible.

"I love you..." I whispered to him; my words being drowned out by his kisses. He didn't answer me; he didn't need to answer me. His kiss said everything I needed to hear.

He grabbed my hips and moved me quicker, thrusting violently into me, I knew he was coming close to his climax. I was too.

I moaned loudly; I didn't care if others around the palace could hear me. They were probably used to this by now.

Landry kissed the nape of my neck; he continued to kiss down until he reached the back of my shoulder blade. He paused for only a moment, hovering just above the back of my shoulder. I could tell he was thinking about something as we continued our love making.

I knew exactly what it was he was thinking.

"Do it..." I breathed, giving him permission.

That was all he needed to hear; I winced as his fangs dug into my back; I felt the warm pool of blood dripping down my back and into the bedsheets around us.

He kept his teeth in me for a short while before taking them out; my wound healed rather quickly but the blood continued to drip down my back in glorious red streaks. Soon, I was feeling every sensation, every emotion, and every feeling he was feeling. It was like I was living inside his mind; I could see all the love he felt for me and our son. I could feel all the fear he had once felt when I was away from him.

I had never felt more connected with someone in my entire life. I smiled as I stared around his face; his features were stained with my blood. His eyes were dark and hungry like his wolf was itching to take control. I'm sure Julia was on the edge and revealed through my eyes as well. We stared into one another's eyes for a moment before our climax took us into orbit.

I kissed him passionately and he held me in his arms. I nuzzled my face against him, breathing him in.

I felt exhaustion suddenly taking over me and I could fall asleep knowing that I was finally marked by my mate.
