Chapter 41 Lewis Fang

Soon, Daryl's part was filmed. According to the newly revised script, her role had been appreciated and favored by the emperor. By this time, Tara was head over heels in love with the emperor.

When Daryl got into character, the actor playing the emperor didn't appear to be the same person anymore. Instead, Leon's image appeared in her mind. When she faced him, she smiled sheepishly at him, and stared at him with the same admiration she had for him five

years ago.

But he was just going to use her, destroy her, and throw her into the abyss.

"Cut!"

Vivian was displeased with the take. She frowned and called out, "Lewis, are you in the right state of mind? Stop staring at Daryl absentmindedly and say your lines!

Daryl was finished with her line, so she lowered her head. She didn't expect that the lead actor was distracted.

"Director, I'm sorry. I was just a little distracted earlier,"

Lewis apologized to Vivian. "I'm sorry. Let's do another take."

In reality, the reason he was distracted was because of Daryl standing before him. For so many years, he had thought of her as a goddess. When he first joined the crew, he was delighted to see her. But he soon realized that the current Daryl was no longer the same top- caliber actress of the entertainment circle.

He wanted to get to know her better, but he wasn't sure what to say. During the previous scene they had together, when he overturned the hot tea and accidentally scalded her, he was actually more nervous than her. However, as a rising actor, he wasn't supposed to interfere so much.

In this shooting, Daryl's shyness and admiration for him made him stare at her subconsciously.

"I'm really sorry about earlier."

Staring at Daryl in front of him, Lewis finally mustered the courage to speak to her in private. "It's fine." Daryl smiled at him.

"I... I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Lewis Fang." Lewis was so nervous that he was fumbling for words. He even introduced himself because of the tension he felt.

Daryl was amused by the young actor. He looked adorable when he was acting silly.

Realizing that he was being impolite, Lewis smiled sheepishly at her.

Soon, Vivian told everyone to start again. Lewis got into character, and Daryl also mentally prepared.

When all the scenes were finished, Daryl went back to her dressing room to remove her makeup and undid her hair while continuously memorizing her lines. While she was preoccupied, Sofia went outside to answer the phone. "Daryl, someone is looking for you outside." A staff came in, looking for Daryl.

Upon hearing this, Daryl got up and said, "I see. I'll be right outside. Thank you."

She put down the script and stepped out of the dressing room. As soon as she got out, she saw Leon.

They hadn't seen each other for a long time. Leon didn't appear to be affected by the incident that happened in the past. He stood tall and dazzling amongst the crowd, bearing a unique air about him.

Daryl's heart trembled, but she didn't allow herself to display such emotions.

She wore an indifferent expression. Even if she hadn't changed her outfit, she still looked extraordinarily beautiful. Her delicate features, even without makeup, were still enough to charm everyone. It seemed that she became the glamorous actress she was five years ago. At the first sight of Daryl, Leon could tell that she was no longer the housewife who could endure all hardships that befell on her in the Lu family.

But even if that were the case, she would never stand a chance against him.

"Daryl, it seems that I underestimated you."

Leon stood in front of her, looking down at her. His eyes gleamed with malice, as if he was staring at an enemy. "You came back to work and created a hype in the entertainment circle just to spite Candida, didn't you?

Well, I advise you to stop what you're doing right now. Otherwise, I'm not going to let you survive in D City." Is that so?"

Free from the humility and hysteria she held before, Daryl stood toe-to-toe against him. "Since you said that, I'm quite curious of what method you'll be using to force me out of D City."

Annoyed by her tepidness, Leon's eyes darkened as he pinched her chin, and snapped at her, "Did you sell yourself to get the role? Bitch! I'm warning you. Don't even dare to go against me!"

Caught off guard, Daryl frowned and responded, "Leon, let go of me. We're on the set. Aren't you afraid that I'll call for help?"

Leon scoffed at her. "You think I'm willing to touch you?"

A trace of disgust flashed through his face. "Touching a bitch like you will only dirty my hand!"

"What are you doing?"

The sound of another man's voice came from behind them as Leon was scolding her.

Daryl realized that it was Lewis.

"Unhand her!"

Lewis ran towards them. "If you don't let her go this instant, I'm calling the police!"

Leon had no choice but to let Daryl go. "It seems that I really underestimated your ability to seduce every man around you."

"Watch your mouth!"

Lewis scowled. "You're the CEO of Lu Group, right? I know you. My agent has recorded a video of you, harassing Daryl. If you don't leave right now, we'll be forced to post this video online!" "Daryl, you just wait and see! This isn't over yet."

Leon remarked. Before he left, he glanced at Lewis and went on his way.

Seeing that Leon was out of earshot, Daryl turned to Lewis and said, "Thank you, Lewis."

"It's no problem,"

Lewis answered as he scratched his head awkwardly. "Are you at odds with the CEO of Lu Group?"

While he was speaking, he realized that his question was too personal. So, he added, "I mean...you should be more careful in the future. If that terrible guy bothers you again, you should ask for help to drive him away." "I know." Daryl flashed a bright smile.

This young man was both naive and cute.

"Can I friend you on WeChat?" Lewis asked her cautiously. "I was actually a fan of yours.

Well, I am and always will be."

Upon hearing his remark, Daryl was startled. She didn't expect that she had that many fans. She even met two of them in the same crew.

"Of course, you can!" She nodded. "You just helped me today. Perhaps I can treat you to dinner some other day?"

"Certainly!"

Lewis agreed, ecstatic by the thought alone.

After the two of them added each other on WeChat, Lewis went back to look for his agent. Daryl also went back to her dressing room to get changed. After Daryl changed into a different outfit, Sofia finally came back after finishing her call.

"What happened? I heard that Leon was just here."
