Nathan had a long list of questions for Tasya this morning. Plus, since she got into his car, she'd been completely silent. But he managed to hold it all in, trying to keep their mood and concentration intact because they had a big meeting today. They couldn't afford personal issues to distract them from delivering the information. It would be a waste of their efforts to find solutions to all the past issues that were slowly eating away at Faldom.

"Did you have breakfast?" Nathan asked, trying to break the silence between them.

"Not yet," Tasya replied with a soft laugh. "Have you?" "Merry made fried rice, but neither of us felt like it."

Tasya chuckled. "Merry's cooking is good, you know."

Nathan was thankful, at least he could still make Tasya laugh this morning. "Yours is better, Tasya." Nathan wasn't in teasing mode anymore. It was an honest statement straight from his heart. "When can we have breakfast together again?" "If I count, there have been many breakfast moments together. You just never counted."

"Really?" Nathan glanced briefly at Tasya, who was still laughing. "I forgot."

"What do you remember?"

"You, of course."

Tasya could only shake her head in wonder. "Mr. Raptor goes into full cheesy mode, huh? His words make girls' hearts race. Luckily, my heart is made and trained so well when I'm next to Mr. Raptor."

Nathan burst into laughter this morning. Even though the traffic in Sydney was a headache outside, everything seemed trivial, and it didn't make Nathan angry because his car was moving slowly.

"Decide what you want for breakfast?" Nathan asked, still with a hint of laughter in his voice. "I got hungry again from laughing just now, Tasya."

"I'm not joking anymore," Tasya straightened her seat. "That's a reality you shouldn't be proud of, Nathan."

"Well, yeah," Nathan turned his steering wheel slowly. The lane to his left was a bit empty. To escape the traffic around Central Street this time, he preferred to take the left side, and later in the East Tower area, he could speed up his arrival at the office. "But my head has only had you on my mind since last night. Should I lie?"

"Just last night, you were worried about me, right?"

Nathan quickly glanced over as Tasya's gaze was now directed at him. "Well, no. I mean, what really worried me was last night. You were out of my reach. Usually, you're always with me." Tasya pouted.

"So... what do you want to eat?"

Tasya seemed to think for a moment. "Just waffles, Nathan. The ones at Street 21?"

"Sure," Nathan smiled broadly. "You need a lot of energy to face today?"

"Yeah," Tasya remembered how important today was for their boss. Unconsciously, she reached for her phone to make sure she hadn't left any needed files behind. If it was hard copy, she had it ready. But soft copy was more important because who knew, if the hard copy was lost, she could immediately reproduce the evidence.

She checked her tablet once again. Then... a sigh of relief escaped.

"Why?" Nathan was quite surprised by Tasya's reaction this time.

"Just making sure I didn't miss anything, Nathan. We can't let Farhan enjoy Faldom's money for too long."

Nathan agreed with that. "Nothing's missing, right?"

Tasya nodded quickly. "Everything's in order."

"I can always rely on you, Tasya." Nathan wanted to pull Tasya into his arms once again. Although he could, there was something he needed to be careful of Tasya's feelings. He didn't want her to think he was too quick to touch her. "How's Naina?" Tasya didn't mind hearing Nathan's flirtations. Not because they didn't make her heart race. Tasya was a purebred woman who couldn't resist the charm of a handsome man, especially one as handsome as Nathan. It's just that she had gotten used to hearing Nathan's flirtations with other women so often.

"Naina left with Mr. Jack earlier, right? What's going on?"

"It's not about that, Nathan." Tasya sighed softly. "Yesterday, remember? Naina was upset that we didn't take her to the movies. Is she still sulking?"

"Oh!" Nathan suddenly realized. "Right, she's mad. She didn't even ask me this morning. Luckily, Mama was there. Naina wanted to say goodbye to me before school."

"See, I told you. Take Naina with us." Tasya leaned back somewhat reluctantly in the car seat. "Naina shouldn't be ignored so often, Nathan. How much time do you spend outside, anyway?"

"Yeah, Tasya." Nathan smiled broadly.

"Oh, wait a minute," Tasya immediately rummaged through her bag. Her phone ringing made her focus on searching inside her bag. "What's up?"

When Tasya's eyes glanced at the phone screen now in her hand, her brow furrowed. "Mrs. Alexa? Let me answer it first, okay?" Nathan nodded.

"Yes, Mrs. Alexa?" Tasya quickly responded to the recent call.

"Where's Nathan? You two need to get to the office right away. It's urgent, Tasya. Farhan has fled the country!"

"What?!"

Hearing Tasya's startled scream, Nathan immediately tried to pull over the car. "Why?"

Tasya looked at Nathan with an unreadable expression. "Mr. Farhan has escaped, sir."

***

The news she had just heard clearly caused Nathan to slam on the brakes to change direction. Tasya's hunger suddenly disappeared. Even from the corner of Tasya's eye, she could tell that Nathan was very angry. With all this, Tasya began to think hard again. How did Farhan know that they were targeting the portly man?

"I'll call Mrs. Nadine first, sir."

Nathan honked loudly, not only because he was surprised by Tasya's statement just now, but there was a driver wearing a green jacket who was driving recklessly. He nearly collided with his luxury sedan. The man didn't matter as long as he didn't cause trouble because of someone else's misbehavior. Usually, the one who yelled the loudest acted as if he were the victim.

"Nathan!"

"What did you say just now?"

Their voices came out simultaneously. Nathan finally sighed softly. "Okay, I apologize. Got carried away, Tasya."

"Driving requires concentration, Nathan." Tasya sighed softly. "I want to talk to Mrs. Nadine. I don't know why, but I feel like it's related to her." Nathan let Tasya busy herself with her phone. He heard the girl sigh irritably several times. Until Tasya slammed her back against the seat. "Ugh!" "She didn't answer?"

"She's not active," Tasya replied with her eyes closed. She immediately massaged her temples. Before Tasya could put her phone back in her bag, it rang loudly. Leo's name appeared on the screen, causing Tasya to glance at Nathan. "Mr. Leo is calling."

"Don't say anything about Farhan," Nathan ordered with a firm tone. Tasya quickly nodded in response. She slid the green icon on her screen. "Yes, sir?"

"Are you with Mr. Nathan? I haven't been able to reach him for a while."

"Yes, sir. We're on our way to the office."

There was a faint sigh from the other end. "What's really going on here? Many policemen have been asking to meet Mr. Nathan?"

Although it was a bit strange, Tasya tried to stay calm. She recalled what Nathan would do after the shareholders' meeting later, as well as when Nathan would clearly reveal Farhan's involvement in this long-covered-up case. "We'll explain later, sir."

There was no response from the caller except that the call was abruptly disconnected. Once again, Tasya exhaled, trying to remain calm. "There are many police officers looking for you at the office."

"Have you contacted the legal team?"

"Yes. They're on their way too."

Even so, Tasya didn't feel calm at all, not in the slightest. Although Nathan was driving much more calmly beside her, there were many thoughts racing through her mind that something terrible would happen. But what? Along the way, Tasya prayed incessantly, hoping that nothing bad would occur, especially to Nathan.

The journey to the office didn't cover a particularly long distance. However, Sydney was always entangled with traffic. A route that should have taken fifteen minutes could easily stretch to thirty minutes, especially in the congested office district on both sides.

Nathan's car was smoothly parked in its usual spot. The man got out a bit hurriedly, without a word, and his mind continued to process what had just happened. This included what he would do to handle the situation at the office. His assistant followed suit, matching her boss's brisk pace.

There was no conversation between them. It wasn't that they didn't want to; their plans to have breakfast together earlier had been quite enjoyable. It wasn't a disturbance if it happened at the right time. But one thing that put Tasya at ease; Nathan had already had breakfast at home. Tasya could manage with a cup of warm chocolate milk later.

"Let's get breakfast, Tasya." Nathan stopped Tasya in her tracks, who was equally hurried in her steps. Their business had suddenly become complicated, but one thing Nathan couldn't ignore was Tasya's well-being. He was a hundred percent sure that she hadn't considered herself last night. Proof of that was her desire for a high-carb breakfast this morning. "Later." Tasya smiled thinly. "Let's go to the office first."

"No." Without wanting to be argued with, Nathan immediately dragged Tasya towards the coffee shop in the lobby area. Fortunately, there weren't too many customers there at this hour. Usually, by this time, there would already be a long queue for a cup of hot coffee.

Tasya could only sigh softly. Nathan couldn't be contradicted this morning. He must be in turmoil even though Nathan would soon be able to reveal what was actually eating away at Faldom. The funds were substantial, and the continuous drain went undetected. Although Nathan was skilled at managing and running Faldom, if the people within it conspired to undermine it, what could Nathan do?

One cup of Nathan's favorite coffee, hot chocolate for Tasya, and several pieces of warm bread for breakfast were already in Tasya's hands. Nathan just handed over his gold card. Without a word. In fact, even when they arrived in the Faldom office corridor, he still didn't want to speak.

"Good afternoon, sir," greeted one of the managers that Tasya recognized from the finance division.

"I have a big meeting in an hour. Prepare all the sales data from five years ago."

"Sir?" The manager furrowed his brow.

"I'm serious," Nathan looked sharply at the bespectacled man and then walked into his office.

"Miss Tasya?" Khalid, the manager, was taken aback by Nathan's request. He looked at Tasya, who was now following her boss. Perhaps talking to his trusted assistant could loosen the order a bit. One hour for five years of financial reports? That was preposterous.

"That's what he asked for, sir. There's an urgent matter to discuss."

Khalid couldn't say anything else, allowing the girl to follow her boss. It felt like a heavy burden on his head. If his superior had requested it, he couldn't refuse to present the report. With that in mind, Khalid hurried back to his desk. Meanwhile, Nathan immediately pulled out one of the chairs in front of Tasya's desk. "Have your breakfast."

"Sure."

Tasya's peripheral vision didn't stop observing Nathan's expression in front of her. The cup of coffee he usually enjoyed while multitasking with his gadgets, complete with a slight grin indicating that he was only doing trivial tasks, looked extremely serious this time.

"Finish your toast, Tasya," Nathan urged. Although he was busy with his phone, where he needed information about Farhan urgently, he couldn't just let Tasya out of his sight.

"Sure, Nathan," Tasya smiled thinly. "Your coffee will get cold."

"Yeah, I don't like cold coffee." Just as Nathan was about to enjoy his Americano, someone knocked on his office door. When he invited them in, Leo, accompanied by two fully uniformed individuals, entered his room. "Please, have a seat, gentlemen," Nathan greeted his guests.

"What's going on?" Leo asked with a curious expression. They were already sitting on the sofa in Nathan's office.

"I should have discussed this in the meeting regarding this morning's shareholders' meeting. But it seems I overlooked something."

Leo furrowed his brow. "What do you mean?"

"Why are you here?" Nathan somewhat ignored Leo's question. He was focused on the two uniformed men who were looking at him intently.

"We have received reports about your surveillance activities, terrorizing, and invasion of someone's privacy."

Nathan's brow furrowed, and then he chuckled. "Oh my. Who made that report?"

"Farhan Lockwoon."
