Jax pov

Jax was sitting on a chair made in the garden. He was thinking about a conversation that happened between Leo and Carter. Finally, he gets to know the meaning behind the odd behavior of Nora and Carter. And why Leo hated Carter so much, and Nora got scared to death of him.

So Alpha was her Mate… Like us? That’s why he desperately wants to meet her? But why did he reject her in the first place? Why did he choose Miya except for his own mate? Leo says Carter rejected her first. It means he didn’t want Nora at that time. There must be a strong reason behind Alpha’s rejection. And the whole thing happened when I was out of the pack for training? I miss a lot of things.

When I come back, Leo and Nora are nowhere to be seen. They have already disappeared from the pack. Only Carter was there to attend his Alpha ceremony. I was shocked when I saw he chose me over Leo. Leo is not there.

I know Carter and Leo were pups. And Leo always said that he became Beta one day. But things changed so soon. Carter chose me, and Leo is somewhere else. And Carter respects me as his Beta. And I respect him too.

But I always felt weird about Alpha’s behavior towards Miya. He always put her further from him when he was doing his Alpha’s duties. It feels odd because he has one who chooses Miya to be his Luna. Alpha fights with his father and some pack elder to accept Miya as Luna. But Carter still stayed away from her. He does not even share his room.

Alpha Jacob and Luna Lima are also not happy with Carter choosing her. They want his fated Mate to become Luna. Maybe they never know about Nora. Because if Alpha knew about Nora, he definitely forced Carter to take Nora before he handed over his Alpha title to Carter.

When I saw Miya, she was a cheerful person and crazy about shopping. She tries to be a good Luna, but no one accepts her as their Luna. The pack never sees her as Luna, they never disrespect her. They always avoid her as much as possible. They called her Luna when Alpha was around.

And Carter knows this too. But still, he never takes it seriously. He knows no matter what, his pack never harms Miya.

He is known as a cold and heartless Alpha as ever in all Alphas. He achieved that title with his own power. He always stays an angry wolf in a pack house. I always feel like something happened to him when I’m not there. Now I know why he acted cold and unsatisfied every time.

His wolf is getting weak because he wants his Mate. And Carter felt the same when he apologized in front of Leo. And ask for a chance to win Nora’s heart. Alpha never knees or apologizes to anyone. He felt sorry for what he did. He almost died when I saw his stitch open.

Leo does his best to stitch his wound again. But he can’t stop Alpha from going into a coma. His wolf shut down himself to heal.

After treating Alpha, Leo stays there to monitor him. He told me to go to rest. I don’t want to leave him alone. But I need to think about my next step as I saw Alpha want Nora. He will take her with him for sure. But what about me? It takes me lots of power to stop Eric from attacking his own Alpha. After hearing how much Carter hurt Nora.

But I can see Carter felt guilty as much as he loved her. Maybe Nora will accept him. I know how Mate bound works. She can’t reject him. She is with him when they are pups, and she knows how Carter is. Maybe she loves him too.

‘s**t! ‘ The thought of her loving someone else makes my heart ache. I look up at the sky. Why did the Moon goddess make this pair of Alpha and me into the same Mate? What if Alpha wants me to hand over her to him? Make her face another rejection? I don’t know if I can get her out of my heart if I do that.

‘Don’t you dare to think about leaving her to him? Carter rejected her once, and now he wants her back because his wolf is getting out of control. Carter had his chosen Luna. Carter will still hurt Nora by showing her that he is living with another woman. He needed to choose one, and I’m sure he still chose Miya. And for Nora, I don’t want her to get HURT BY HIM again. I won’t allow him to hurt her. I won’t allow him to snatch her from us.” Eric was full of rage.

‘Alpha is not snatching Nora from us. He is her Mate too. And I don’t want to do the same. He was right. He had a right on her.’ I try to make him calm down.

‘He had the right for what? To make her sad, hurt and almost kill herself?’ Eric growled in displeasure.

‘No! I don’t want her to get sad or hurt… ‘ I growled at his comments.

“Good to hear that. Basically, he lost his right on Nora when he rejected her. Now she just needs to accept his rejection. Then she will be ours.’ Eric sounds so excited.

‘You think she will agree to reject him? What if she wants him as he wants her? I don’t want to force her into rejection.’ I said with my heart.

‘Don’t take his side, because he is not worth it. I want My mate! If you give up on her, I’ll die. We both are weak as Alpha without our Mate. Do I have to tell you this?’ Eric desperately.

‘What will I do then?’ I asked in a frustrated tone.

‘Just tell all things to Alpha first. He will understand us. And if he won’t agree to use it. Then challenge him for Mate. I’m not giving up on her without a fight.’

‘I’m not stepping back too. But first I have to talk to Nora. I want to know what she will do when she finds out that I’m also her Mate. Her second chance mate. One more chance to live happily.’ I smile as I say that.

‘She will choose us! I’m damn sure of this. Moon goddess blessed us with a beautiful partner. And I don’t want you to mess up our last chance if you reject her now. We never get another chance to live happily.’ Eric’s voice changed to a sad one.

‘You are right. I don’t want to lose her. I fell for her when I saw her for the first time.’ I accept my feelings.

‘Someone is here.’ Eric said in an alert tone.

I look around and find a small figure walking out from a small space.

Ace is standing there staring at me. This little boy looks the same as Carter. He had the same Alpha’s aura around him. How is this possible? Ace was Leo’s son. So why does he feel like I’m facing little Alpha. I didn’t pay attention before. But now I can see clearly.

“Hey, little boy, what are you doing here? Did you need anything?” I asked in a careful tone.

I need to be gentle with him. He is my Mate’s son. If she agreed to be my. This boy would become my son. My first baby boy.

“When are you both leaving our house, uncle?” Ace asks strength forward. He can’t hide his cold tone.

He looked angry, but why? Did he know about Carter and his mother’s relationship? But what he said hurt me. He does not even want Carter to leave. Does he not want me to stay here too? What if he doesn’t like me to be with his mother? I’m feeling nervous all of sudden.

“You want us to leave?” I asked. I need to know why he doesn’t like me.

He nods his small head.

“But why? Did I do something wrong?” Now I’m getting nervous.

“Because I don’t want my Mom to get scared again and again.” He said calmly.

“Did I scare her?” I never recall hurting her.

“Not you, uncle. You are my daddy’s brother. I’m talking about Carter.” Ace said.

“Alpha Carter?” Wow, he is talking about Carter. He is so protective of his mother.

“Why are you calling Alpha uncle?” Ace asked curiously.

“Because he is our Alpha. He is the strongest man in our pack.” And I’m proud of him.

“That’s why my Mom got scared of him?” Ace whispered.

“Hey, that’s not true. Maybe your mom had another reason to be scared. Alpha is not bad at all. He is a caring and protective person in our pack. Everyone in our pack likes him and respects him as our Alpha.” I tell him what he needs to know.

Ace studied my face quietly. He still looks confused.

“His name is Carter. But you called him Alpha. Is it because he is stronger? And what is the meaning of pack? I have never heard these words before.” Ace keeps asking so many questions.

“What? You don’t know about packs?” I can’t help but feel shocked.

What is Leo teaching him? Why didn’t he tell him about werewolves?

Ace shakes his head in no. Well, what the hell is Leo teaching him? He never told his son about the pack or pack house. He did not even tell the kids that he had a big brother.

“Ahem… Did you know about wolves?” I asked carefully.

“Yes… Daddy told me about wolves. And I’m too wolf As my mom, grandma, grandpa and Abby -Gabby, Leo and you both wolves too uncle.” Ace said.

“Oh! You know your mom is also a wolf?” I asked.

“Did you talk to her when you were born?” My eyes got wide. This is impossible.

“Uncle, why did my Mom get scared of that guy? Did he do something bad to her? Are you taking his side because he is stronger than you?” Ace’s words make me speechless. He changed the subject so quickly.

“I’m not scared of him. I respect him. He is a good leader and protector. In our whole pack house, we stayed like a big family.” I shake my head as I say that.

“Can you tell me about pack houses?” He asked.

“Sure…” look, I need to tell him everything about wolves and pack houses. So I do tell him.

Ace kept hearing what I told you. I don’t know how much he understands but he needs to know what he is missing in his life.

“Did he marry someone?” Ace suddenly asked.

“Yes. He marries Miya, named wolf. But why did you ask suddenly?” I was confused by his sudden question.

Ace got quiet suddenly. I can’t understand why he asked about Carter.

‘Try to be friendly with him. He is our Mate’s son. He had some power. I can feel it. And what he says about her wolf. That’s true because he can feel me too.’ Eric said calmly.

“Hey, wanna sit here?” I give him some space to sit beside me.

He looked at me, then nodded softly. He sat beside me. I can feel her on him. It’s making me feel good.

“So… Mmm… A… Little boy, who is the firstborn in your siblings?” I changed the topic.

“You can call me Ace, uncle. And I’m the one born first after Abby and Gabby. We tripled. We had just five minutes difference between our birth times.“ Ace, tell me calmly.

“Oh! Did your mother be alright after giving three babies at one time… Oh…” Goddess, I was so worried about her.

The image is about her delivery time. The memory about Rose hit me so hard. I rubbed my palms nervously. I recalled Rose’s painful face and her death in that process. As I did, I remember my child also died too. How much I want to escape those painful memories, but they keep returning to me rapidly. And now, knowing Nora went from the same path to give birth to three babies and she still is healthy. He was close to breaking into tears.

Suddenly one small hand-held his palm. His soft touch brought him back to reality. He began to calm down. He looked at Ace with surprised eyes. Ace smiles at him while looking up at him. Slowly Jax is getting relaxed.

“Everything will be alright uncle.” Ace whispered to him in a low voice.

‘Did he feel my sadness? His words and smiling face make me calm down. Do you feel the same as Eric as I do?’ I asked Eric.

‘Yes. He could make people calm down. He used his power for that.’ Eric said calmly.

“When I say this to Mom. She calmed down when she panicked. Did you feel the same, uncle?” Ace asked me.

“Your words are magical, you know this, right?” I give him my smile.

“I know…” Ace said with a big smile.

We both talk about random things. He told me about Abby- Gabby, his school and many more things until Leo walked toward us. He was calling us for dinner.

“Ace, you are here? Abby was looking for you everywhere. Go see her…” Leo said.

“Ok. Bye, uncle Jax. Nice to meet you…” Ace waves at him and runs inside the house.

“Strange!! Ace never likes to talk to strangers so casually.” Leo’s surprised voice makes me true to him. Now it’s my time to talk to him about Nora.
