Tremaine was both in shock and furious.

He angrily asked, "Why did you take so long to tell me about this?! Why did you delay it until it got this bad?! Don't you see how terrible she looks now?!"

His heart shattered into pieces when he saw Yesseca earlier!

She was so thin and pale! She looked like she could be blown away from a small gust of wind!

Matthew ruthlessly cut down Tremaine's brutal accusations, "Tremaine! You think I haven't tried everything?! I'm just as well connected as you are! Telling you then would not have made a difference!" He was sure of it.

He had exhausted all possible solutions, Tremaine would have ended up the same way.

"I don't believe any of that!" Tremaine bluntly refuted, "She can't die! That's simply impossible! Give me all the information you have on her condition! I'll hire the best doctor for her and find a cure for her illness!" Back in the ward.

Yesseca's looked dazed.

She never thought she'd see Tremaine again.

His sudden appearance rattled her.

She was disturbed to her very core with his unannounced arrival.

Selina dragged Preslie out of the ward as well.

She asked Preslie why Tremaine had suddenly appeared.

Preslie had no idea, she told her that she was having a conversation with Yesseca when Tremaine barged in.

Selina felt anger raging from within as she asked, "Hasn't Tremaine hurt Yesseca enough already?! Why's he coming looking for her now?! What's the meaning of this?! Can't Yesseca just live our the rest of her life in peace?!" Matthew had approached them.

Selina then barraged Matthew with the same questions she had asked Preslie.

Matthew repeated the conversation he had with Tremaine.

After he was finished, Selina scoffed, "Hah! Who does he think he is? God?! We've already done everything for her! What makes him think he can do anything different?!" Matthew could only sigh.

He gently comforted Selina, "Let him be Selina. He just wants to help Yesseca."

"If he really wants to goodbye Yesseca, he shouldn't have chased her out of Nashaland! He also wouldn't have broken up with her in the first place!" Selina mentioned something that couldn't be fixed anymore.

"Let bygones be bygones," Matthew said quietly, "Yesseca is already much too weak to be burdened with this."

He nearly made Selina cry.

He was right!

She wouldn't mention any of this to her!

Yesseca could go at any moment now!

There was no use bringing up the past!

Selina threw herself into Matthew's arms, helpless and in pain. "Matthew, what should we do? I've already asked the doctor. He said that Yesseca's condition is getting worse by the second! He wants us to be mentally prepared!"

Matthew was at a loss for words.

He was a powerful man, but he had no control over certain facts of life. He wasn't a god!

He couldn't do anything to stop death or terminal illnesses.

He had already tried everything to save Yesseca.

Seeing how heartbroken Selina was, Matthew tried to comfort her, "Selina, when that moment comes, we have to simply accept reality." Selina was shocked.

As Selina looked up at him, Matthew could see the pain and despair she was in. "Is that all we can do?! Just accept it?! Matthew, how can I face Lotharup in heaven?! His only

request to me before he died was to take good care of her!"

Matthew held her in his arms and muttered, "Selina, you've done your best. Some things are out of our control. Lothar will understand. What's more, Yesseca has already accepted her fate." Selina shook her head desperately as tears continued to stream down her cheeks, "Matthew, I can't accept any of this. I can't."
