Chapter 1824 You Are a Very Good Person

Elijah noticed a message from Brett on his way to find Sally.

"What's it about?" Sally's eyes lit up. "Are you going to take me to see Adonis? Is he willing to see me?"

"I'm not sure." Elijah tapped her nose playfully. "But Micah has praised you quite a bit in front of Father Adonis, and he knows you're a very good person." "Really?"

Sally was very surprised.

"Worthy of being my buddy!"

Elijah always managed to pick up quite a few peculiar phrases from Sally.

"Let's go. Don't keep Brett waiting."

"Alright!"

Sally held Elijah's hand and said, "Hold hands. You can release my hand when we encounter people!"

"We can still hold hands in front of others," Elijah said.

Sally looked at him in surprise. "But you never held my hand when many people were around before!"

Elijah's expression seemed to be protesting.

"Sally, you were the one always keeping a distance from me."

"Is that so?" Sally thought for a moment.

It seemed Elijah was right.

"I did that because I was afraid you might feel uncomfortable and reject me. I had a psychological burden, so I was being very considerate..." Sally muttered. Elijah was overwhelmed by Sally's cuteness.

He squeezed her hand, restraining the impulse to do something else.

"Being considerate is good, but don't be overly considerate next time."

"Fine."

Sally was amused by her own actions.

Brett's yard was quite small. When Sally and Elijah arrived, Brett was coming out, holding an old-fashioned cell phone, seemingly about to make a call. Upon seeing the two of them, he put the phone away.

"Brett!"

Sally greeted Brett cheerfully.

Brett seemed somewhat uncomfortable.

"Is Adonis feeling better?" Sally continued to ask.

Elijah half-lowered his eyes, but the smile in his eyes couldn't be hidden.

"Adonis is doing better. He got up and walked around this morning," Brett replied. "The meal is ready. I was just about to call you."

"I just woke up and came over when I saw the message," Elijah said.

"Okay. Come in and eat!"

Brett walked ahead, focused on his steps.

Sally and Elijah exchanged glances, and Elijah gave Sally a reassuring look.

They entered Brett's small yard together.

The yard was very tidy, with many beautiful potted plants.

"So lovely!" Sally complimented immediately upon seeing the potted plants.

Brett glanced at her and silently set the table.

Elijah leaned into Sally and whispered, "Brett is good at caring for potted plants."

"Amazing!" Sally was good at praising.

"Let's dine quickly. The food is getting cold."

Monks here only ate vegetables, so Brett cooked vegetarian dishes.

Even though they were vegetables, Brett's cooking skills impressed Sally.

"Brett, you are so good at cooking." Sally's praise was genuine.

Those dishes were so tasty!

Sally continued complimenting Brett, causing his face to turn redder and redder.

"These younger monks, including Elijah, were picky eaters. They didn't like the food from the dining hall's chef. What could I do as their senior?" Brett muttered. Elijah chuckled. "Thanks to Brett, the other seniors and I ate more and grew taller."

Brett was stunned.

He remembered when he was caught cooking separately for the younger monks, the disciplinary hall wanted to punish him for that.

Elijah knelt outside the disciplinary hall and shouted, "We can't keep hungry when we can't stomach the food from the dining hall. How can we grow taller if we don't eat?"
