She shrugged uncaringly and leaned back in the chair, "I planned to ask you to have crab with me, but I wasn't feeling up to it, so I cancelled. How about it? Was the crab he brought back for you that day delicious?"

So Hendrix did not come back that day because he was having dinner with her.
