Chapter 1292

He smiled and said, "There are too many things to settle in Oakland, and I'm worried about handing them over to others. You have been coming over to be with me a lot more often lately, huh?" Looking at the part of his chest that was scalded, I felt a little distressed. I nodded and said, "Well, I don't really have much to do recently. Anne is with my mom all the time, so I can come to work with you. I can help you out a little now and then."

Leaning back in his chair, the smile on his face deepened. He said, "You're so kind, my dear wife!"

I applied the medicine on him, feeling a little helpless. "How dare a secretary scald you like this? Hendrix, be honest with me. What did you do to her? Was that why she spilt it on you?"

He looked at me, his eyes were deep and dark. "Do I really seem like such a pervert to you?"

I shrugged. "It's hard to say!"

He felt a little pain after I applied medicine on him, and he nibbled on my lip in revenge. He looked at me and said indignantly, "You're so ungrateful."

After applying the medicine, I put a shirt on for him. I said, "Anne has a cold again. I discussed this with my mother today, and decided to bring her back to Hovell to recuperate. Her immunity has gotten weaker and weaker after she came to Jarold City."

He lowered his head and thought seriously, then said, "Okay, I'll sort everything out by then. After Evan comes back from Oakland, we'll bring Anne to Hovell."

He was so well- planned that I was a little surprised. I couldn't help asking, "Can Evan handle it, if you leave this place?"

"Austin will be here too, don't worry!" He hugged me, and I felt ticklish. When I saw a cute lunch box on his table, I couldn't help asking, "Did you go out for lunch or order food delivery?"

He held me in his arms and began to browse some documents. Then he said, "I ordered takeout. I don't have time to go out to eat."

I nodded. My gaze fell upon the lunch box. There was a brief moment of silence but I didn't ask further.

In the next few days, I went to the company with Hendrix. We did everything together. When I received a call from Yana, I was dozing off in Hendrix's arms.

"Arianna, are you guys in Jarold city?" Yana asked in a hoarse voice.

I was stunned for a moment and nodded. "Yes. How's the child recently?"

She mumbled in reply and hesitated for a moment before asking, "May I ask you a favor?"

She seldom called me to ask for help. I paused for a moment before saying, "What's wrong? What happened to you?"

"It's the Reid Family. Something happened. Aaron has been looking for help recently, but he doesn't want to bother you. But Arianna, I don't know who else I can go to for help except you. Can you ask Mr. Moore for help about Mr. Reid's situation?"

Her words had me stunned. I was a little confused and asked, "What happened to the Reid family? It's okay, Yana, take your time."

Her voice was a little choked up. "Someone reported that Aaron's father used his authority to open a company for Aaron, which violated the law. Mr. Reid was taken away by the authorities, saying that he was needed for the investigation. It's been two days. Aaron was anxious to find someone to ask about the situation, but he hasn't received any news in the past few days. Arianna, Mr. Moore has been living in Jarold City for many years, so he must have a way of finding out what's going on. Please help."

I nodded and said, "Don't worry, Yana. I will definitely ask my dad for help. But don't worry now. Are you alone at home? Can you get in touch with Aaron?"
