Evan laid eyes on me, seemingly hesitating to talk about something in front of me.

Being stupefied for a split second, I looked at Hendrix and said, "I'll go for a walk outside!"

I got up on my feet and headed towards the outdoor area around the hospital. As soon as I got to the emergency department, I saw a man covered in blood being carried out of the ambulance while the nurse shouted from inside the vehicle, "Car accident, he suffered head trauma, and the nerves in both legs were crushed."

It was then followed by a group of doctors and nurses who rushed out to move the patient into the emergency room. It seemed like a serious case.

"There was an accident on the Eastern Road where a black vehicle fell directly from the Eastern Road highway down the bridge. It was a family of three in the vehicle and the woman died on the spot. It was fortunate the child was protected in the father's arms, suffering only a minor injury."

"Such terrible news. A family ending up broken like this. Why did they drive so recklessly? What a pity!"

Out of curiosity, I turned on my phone to check on the news. Indeed, there was a report of a car accident that had happened, as the people around had discussed. Scanning through the news, I was stunned for a moment as I recognized the vehicle as a familiar black Mercedes Benz.

The car plate number seemed to ring a bell in my head, as it wasn't a common figure that an ordinary person would have gotten. I recognized the car plate as Bobbie's. I'd seen that car plate number of his when I was over at Abby's place. It didn't gain much of my attention at that time.

Was this the family who had gotten into the car accident?

I recalled the hesitation that Evan had earlier. Without a second thought, I dashed into the hall where Hendrix was having a conversation with Evan. Evan was then caught in a daze as soon as he noticed my presence.

I looked at him and asked, "Bobbie and his family were caught in a car accident. Do you have anything to do with that?" That was a question for Hendrix.

Hendrix didn't rush on giving me an answer. He glanced at Evan as he said, "Go ahead and deal with the rest."

Evan then left the scene.

At this moment in time, I stared at Hendrix as I waited for his reply. He pulled me aside. I sat right next to him while he looked at me and spoke in his gentlest voice, "You shouldn't be too emotionally unstable when you've just been discharged from the hospital. Anyway, you should have stayed home and rested. But since you're already here, you should not overthink and focus on your health, okay?"

I frowned and shouted, "Don't change the subject, Hendrix!"

He said in a speechless tone, "What else can I talk about?I'm just reminding you to stay safe!"

I frowned with a face of dissatisfaction. "Did you cause the car accident that Bobbie and his family were in?" It seemed too much of a coincidence.

He narrowed his eyes while we remained in silence for a moment.

I then felt a sense of distress as I looked at him and said, "I know Bobbie is responsible for what happened to me. Trust me. I want him dead as much as you do. Even so, what you've done is very dangerous. You'll be imprisoned as soon as they find out what you did."

He squinted at me as he said, "His wife's bone marrow matches with Anne's perfectly."

I was left speechless. "You..." It was reported in the news that his wife died on the spot of the accident, so...

A long silence spread across the atmosphere before he started speaking. "Anne will recover soon, and the adopted child will be fine. We will live happily as a family from now on, Arianna."

Not knowing what to say, I instantly teared up. "Do you know the consequences of your actions, Hendrix?"
