My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna) -
Chapter 1691
Without any hesitation, I stood up and snatched the child from Freya's arms. I ran frantically upstairs, locked the door, and hid in the bedroom with the child in my arms. Outside the door came the sound of knocking on the door. I could hear the concern in their voices, "Arianna, open the door, what's wrong with you..."
The world in front of me was spinning, the noises sounded as though they were the spirits from hell, fighting to take away my child.
I hid in the closet and huddled up with the child in my arms, not daring to make any sound. I whispered, "Don't take my daughter away. No one can take my daughter away..." After some time, I heard the child crying and the wardrobe was unlocked from the outside.
The light of the sun pierced my eyes, and I subconsciously hugged the child tighter.
"Arianna, I'm back."
The man's familiar and attractive voice immediately pulled me back to my senses.
I slowly turned my head and saw a face that I hadn't seen for a long time. I was lost in thought for a moment.
We looked at each other, but we chose to be silent.
After a long time, Hendrix finally took the lead in breaking the silence.
"Arianna, The child must be hungry. Come out first, let's feed her." He held out his hand to me. He slowly approached me and the child, his expression ever so gentle.
I looked at his angular features getting closer and closer. It felt as though it was a dream. My whole body was light and my brain was blank.
Only when his cold touch touched the back of my hand did I suddenly wake up. Upon recognizing Hendrix, I screamed in horror, "Get out! Don't touch my child!" Hendrix furrowed his brows in shock. His well-defined hands were suspended mid- air as his voice became deep. "Arianna, look carefully. It's me. Hendrix, your lover." "Of course I know it's you. Don't try to fool me! It's all your fault. You made my son disappear. Give him back to me!" Unable to control my emotions, I roared at him crazily. Hendrix didn't give up. He adjusted his body and tried to get closer, but it only agitated me further. "Go away! Liar! Don't come over! Ah! "
At the same time, I saw a hand stretched out from the side all of a sudden, grabbing and dragging Hendrix out.
The bedroom became quiet once again. I hugged my baby tightly, afraid that she might catch a cold.
I looked blankly at the ground. I could still hear the noise in my head, but I couldn't seem to remember what had happened.
Not long after, I heard footsteps approaching. I looked up and saw Aaron. He wore a white high-collared sweater, stood against the light, and smiled at me. He stood with Anne next to him, and she reached out her hand pitifully to me, crying, "Mom, don't you want me..."
Children were always the soft spot of their mothers. Upon hearing the sound of her voice, all my defenses disintegrated in an instant. I lifted one hand to embrace Anne and began to sob.
At that moment, a doctor came in and gave me a sedative, and I lost consciousness.
"My child! Don't touch my child!"
After waking up from the nightmare, I sat up from the bed, my forehead drenched in cold sweat. I didn't bother wiping them away as I got out of bed in a hurry to find the baby. I felt relieved when I saw the baby sleeping peacefully in the cradle beside the bed.
The person outside seemed to have heard the commotion in the room. In an instant, the door was pushed open and Aaron came in. "You're awake?"
I nodded, not in the mood to speak.
"You must be hungry. I'll order some food for you," Aaron said and looked pointedly in the direction of the balcony.
It was only then that I noticed that there was another person in the room. Hendrix stood far away, with stubble all over his chin. He looked a little haggard.
