After some consideration, I knocked on Aaron's door.

"F*ck off." Aaron probably thought it was his bodyguards trying to pester him, so he immediately snarled in response.

"It's me." I cleared my throat and asked, "Can I come in and talk?"

Suddenly, there was no sound from the inside. Just as I was about to turn around and leave, the door suddenly opened and Aaron appeared.

"If you have something to say, then say it." He stood against the light, so I could not make out the expression on his face.

He had never been so cold to me. Although I knew that he was just angry, I felt guilty.

After staring at Aaron in the darkness for a few seconds, I broke the silence. "If this happens again, you can take the children somewhere far, far away so that I can never see them for the rest of my life again." I was absolutely certain of my decision.

Aaron looked at me with his eyes flickering in the darkness as if thinking about the truth of my words. The way he stared at me in silence made me feel intimidated and unable to meet his gaze.

Feeling guilty, I lowered my head and dared not look him in the eye.

After a long time, Aaron said in a deep voice, "Yana left me because of me. It's my fault. I deserve it."

He paused. I raised my head just in time to see the gloomy expression in his eyes. "But Arianna, if you let me experience separation from my loved ones ever again, I will never forgive you, let alone take care of your children. I will refuse to acknowledge them, and I'm willing to let them fend for themselves, you understand?"

This was not a notice, but a warning.

I pursed my lips and nodded. "I understand. You're saying that if I dare to put myself in trouble again, you will not save your nephew and niece."

If that happened, I knew that Aaron would make the same choice as Hendrix.

The hospital was already cold, and the night wind blew through the window, making me shiver.

After calming down, Aaron could not bear to be angry at me anymore. He leaned to one side and made room for me. "Come in. It's so cold outside. Are you trying to make me pity you by standing out in the cold like this?"

His words were still tough, but he was no longer keeping me at arm's length.

When Aaron was reluctant to admit defeat, he somehow became a little cute. I smiled and walked in.

There wasn't much time. After I sat down, I went straight to the point. "Are all the results coming out tomorrow?"

Aaron crossed his legs and sat across from me with a relaxed look on his face, but as this topic was mentioned, his face became solemn. "Tomorrow afternoon, so don't expect me to forgive you until the test results come out and I can confirm that you are okay."

"No, brother, you must forgive me." I immediately interrupted him and said solemnly, "And, as soon as the results are out, you should make a big deal out of it and arrange the best treatment for me immediately."

Aaron frowned when he heard this. He leaned over and looked at me up and down carefully. "Do you feel that there is something wrong ?"

Without waiting for my reply, he stood up and dragged me out of the room. "Come with me."

I was surprised and felt helpless. "You've misunderstood me. That's not what I meant."

Aaron did not loosen his grip on me. He stared at

me with a threatening look. "Really?"

"It's true." I nodded. "I have an idea."

Aaron somewhat believed me. He raised his eyebrows and squinted at me. He was still doubtful of some things, however. "If you dare to keep any secrets from me, you will regret it."
