After thinking for a while, I called Freya on the phone.

"Hello..." Freya's voice was hoarse, as if she had just woken up, or she'd just had a hangover.

"Freya, are you alright?" I asked with concern.

I said, "Well, I want you to help me check on a Mr. Clark from Anne's school. I feel that something is

wrong."

She replied, "Mr. Clark? Okay, I got it. You can wait for my news. Is there anything else? I'm hanging up if there isn't."

I'd only paused for less than half a second before I heard the beeps from the receiver. It was as quick as her temper.

Two days had passed when I saw Freya again. She was still full of energy, being the center of attention wherever she went. We were at a cafe near her company.

As soon as we sat down, Freya threw me a bombshell and said, "I'm getting divorced."

For a full minute, I just frowned and looked at her, not knowing what to say.

On the contrary, Freya was very relaxed. She raised her fingers to stir the coffee in front of her, as if she was talking about something else. "In fact, as you can see, we've been apart a lot this year. There's been a problem with our relationship for a long time. Since we don't match well, it's better for us to divorce. We are still young, and there's no need to spend the rest of our lives together."

I still remembered what Freya had said to me. "If that kind of person happens to bump into me, I'll raise hell upon them for their lives!"

Seeing that I did not reply, Freya changed the subject. "I've asked someone to check on Mr. Clark. There's nothing wrong with him. He's from Jarold City and has been teaching at Anne's school for quite a while. He's young and has a pretty face, so he's very well liked by children."

Suddenly, Freya let go of the spoon. It clanged against the rim of the cup. "Don't be like this. You've divorced. Now that I'm here to accompany you, you should be happy. From now on, we will depend on each other. Let men do whatever they want!"

At this, I felt embarrassed to keep pretending, so I decided to confess everything to Freya.

Freya was unusually quiet as she watched me with an odd gaze.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Being stared at by her, I felt a little uncomfortable and guilty. "Nothing." Freya looked away and sipped the coffee on the table. She seemed not surprised at all.

"That's it?" I was not calm. "Don't you have anything to ask me?"

"What's there to ask?" she said as she moved the coffee away and looked into my eyes. "You two have been entangled with each other the whole time. Even if you were really divorced, you'd have gotten back together sooner or later."

I chuckled awkwardly. "Yeah... You really have a sharp eye for this stuff." Freya retorted, "It's because you two, oh, no, only your acting is bad."

First Hendrix, and now Freya? Hey! What's wrong with my acting?
