My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna) -
Chapter 1831
The more people flaunted, the harder they would fall.
Zachary was speechless when he heard Freya's words. He looked at Aaron and I helplessly before a frown etched on his forehead.
Did he think we were in his way?
Wasn't he the uninvited guest in the Moore family?
Aaron seemed to read Zachary's intentions earlier than I did. He held his head up high and stared straight at Zachary. His beautiful eyes narrowed slightly and he was filled with the arrogant and intimidating aura that I was very much familiar with. Aaron was daring Zachary to make us leave, and he was waiting for the latter to make a move.
Frey a did not notice the men's standoff with one another. She impatiently asked Zachary, "Have you gone mute?"
Zachary could not be bothered with us. He went over to the sofa next to Freya and sat down, "You've been gone for days, but I've always been here taking care of Oliver. I had been too busy dealing with family matters; I only just realized that there were many times I've overlooked you in the past. I think we should give each other another chance," he pleaded.
Aaron and I looked at each other at the same time and sighed.
He actually had the audacity to ask for Freya's forgiveness and a second chance?
Freya became more furious and said mockingly, "Tell me then, how are you going to deal with Stephanie and the child in her belly?"
Zachary looked dignified, and he
lowered his eyebrows as if he had great determination within him. "Oliver is still young, and we should give him a whole home. As for Stephanie, I've asked my parents to persuade her to withdraw the remarriage lawsuit and to give her a house and a million dollars. We'll never contact each other again. My parents will bring the child back to the countryside and raise the little one with their relatives."
With Zachary's current income level and financial abilities, he was still able to arrange for an accommodation for Stephanie in Jarold City and was willing to compensate her a million dollars. This showed that he, at least, was still responsible for the mistakes he made.
However, a jerk would always be a jerk. He would only think about himself and no one else.
And he was definitely not in the position to comment on how others should live their life.
Freya wasted no time to ridicule him and said, "Yeah, you betrayed me, and you want to compromise for the sake of the family and make peace with me? What's more, I have to be merciful and forgive the murderer, who almost killed me, and watch another woman give birth to my husband's child? Tsk tsk, did we spend too little time together, or do you really not know me at all? Why do you think you're fit to control how
I should live my life?"
Freya felt that speaking to him was pointless because her aura turned cold again. "Get out of my sight before I get into a foul mood again," she warned.
Zachary's face darkened as he
stared at her. He most likely remembered how terrible Freya's temper was as he immediately stood up, "Don't forget that I'll always be Oliver's father. This is a fact that no one can changed can
negotiate and give everyone a peaceful life, but Freya, don't go. overboard with your decisions. Karma awaits," he added.
Freya blinked at him and said, "If you're done, kindly get lost."
Zachary was probably intimidated by her expression and aura because he furrowed his brows slightly and hurriedly left.
I
3T?" Following the direction in which he left, I suddenly remembered the luxury car parked right at the door, so I said to Freya, "Can I borrow a car?" "Didn't Aaron drive you here?" Freya asked while looking at him strangely, "What are you two siblings up to?"
