As I thought of what happened during our meal the evening before, I muttered to myself, "Irvin doesn't seem to like Hendrix and his son."

"Haha... It'd be strange if he did," Freya said, laughing.

"What did you say?" I asked, not understanding what she meant by that.

"Nothing," she replied, changing the subject, "What do you think of his son?"

"He's a very interesting boy," I quipped. Thinking of Wynn, I could not help but squint my eyes and chuckle. "He even called me his mom in the past." Freya's expression turned serious in an instant. She looked at me gravely and said, "You are his mother."

Silence overtook the room.

It was so quiet that even a needle falling to the ground could be heard.

It took a long time before I came to my senses. I opened my mouth and stammered, "Freya... you can't joke about this sort of thing."

I did not believe that what Freya had said was true.

She seemed to have expected my reaction as she collected her composure and added genuinely, "I swear, everything I said is true."

At that point, my heart finally began to waver and tip over like a scale overweight on one end.

Freya may be carefree, but when it came down to business, she never beat around the bush. I was just struggling to process this bizarre news that completely knocked the wind out of me. Hendrix had never even declared the identity of Wynn's mother to the public. How could it be me?

Hendrix and I?

If that was the truth, then why would I be engaged to Irvin?

Did Freya mean to say that Irvin had been lying all this time?

"Wynn is my son?" I repeated and held onto the cup to ease the trembling nerves within. "In other words, Hendrix and I were..."

Freya added, "It wasn't only in the past. In fact, you two had never separated. Even when you did, it was to deceive others, but the truth was, the both of you loved each other deeply." "Ding!" A sound rang out.

I was so immersed in my thoughts that I had accidentally knocked over my cup onto the ashtray on the table. The coffee spilled, covering the tablecloth with a large stain.

I took a piece of napkin and wiped it hurriedly, but I gradually stopped. "I know you don't have a reason to lie to me, but accepting this news is a little..."

Before I could finish my sentence, a woman's voice interrupted me.

"Arianna?"

With the clicking of high heels against the ground, I turned my head and saw a charming beauty approaching me aggressively.

She stared at me as if I was her archenemy.

"F*ck, this is such bad luck! Who let her in?" Frey a demanded.

By the time Frey a said that, the woman was already standing in front of me.. Her face, which was covered thick makeup, had hatred painted squarely across it. Due to the proximity of the distance

between us, everything seemed

rather malevolent.

I was not affected by her expression, but my furrowed brows indicated we most likely shared an awful relationship with one another in the past.

"It's really you! You're still alive!

You're really alive!" She screamed. The woman became emotional all of

a sudden as she grabbed my arm. She howled hysterically and raised her hand with the intention of hitting me.

UMS

Freya got up quickly and pushed her away. "Andrea, you luntatic. Have you lost your mind?"

The woman named Andrea did not notice Freya at all, and Freya did not try to be friendly with her either. She did not hold back as she pushed Andrea against the door of the private room.

Andrea seemed unfazed by the pain.

She stared at me with grim eyes as if she wanted to tear me to pieces. "Hendrix didn't die, and neither did you. Why are you both still alive but Sebastian had to die?" She growled.
