My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna) -
Chapter 1927
As I watched the commercial vehicle disappear along the turning, I sighed helplessly.
When I was placing the food order the night before, I took Hendrix's preference into consideration and delivered my wallet a devastating blow. I didn't even know if Hendrix actually ate the food or not.
I came to my senses immediately, feeling that something was wrong. Why did I care so much about the father and son duo? Was it because Wynn was just too cute?
Besides, they appeared in my life so frequently that their presence was almost as pervasive as Irvin's.
I could not figure this out.
After returning home, Freya contacted me.
"Arianna, there's something I have to talk to you about," Freya said, her tone even more serious than our last two meet-ups.
"When and where?" I asked. Ever since the incident of being chased by the paparazzi, I had become cautious on impulse.
I stayed home and had a lot of time to watch the news on television after leaving the hospital. There were many scandals that were obviously blocked by paparazzi reporters. I was afraid that I would not be able to get away the next time something like this happened again.
"I'll pick you up later," Freya told me.
Before I could clarify more, she had already ended the call.
Half an hour later, as soon as I got into Frey as car, I felt that there was something odd with her expression. "Are you alright? You don't look very well," I pointed out.
We had not spent that much time together, but I could feel that Freya was someone who did not fancy talking.
It was obvious that she was a little restless.
Freya nodded with a solemn look on her face while saying, "I'm a little nervous."
After a pause, she seemed to have thought of something and continued, "This is really important. No matter what, I must tell you today. In fact, you... You know what, forget it. This isn't a good place to talk. Let's do it later."
Seeing her being so cautious, I did not say anything more.
Freya brought me to the Golden Roof Restaurant.
"I own this restaurant, do you have any recollection about this at all? Just order whatever you want to drink. It's on me."
I shook my head. Although I was not thirsty, after seeing Freya's enthusiasm, I decided to order a cup of latte as a courtesy.
Freya stared at my face in confusion. She then looked left and right before asking, "Arianna, it's been so long. Have you not recalled a single thing?"
"No," I answered monotonously as I scanned the room.
The private room was similar to the style of the place where I had an appointment with Wynn previously. Other than that memory, I had no other impression of it.
I also paid a visit to the hospital two
days before. The doctor said that generally, there were no serious issues with my brain, but the matter of memory restoration was something that could not be forced.
It felt like I was treading on thin ice everyday. The first half of my life
was an empty void and ever life et
wasdike a beautiful dream. It felt like I was walking on empty air
Opening my eyes every morning felt like I was waking up to a strange, suffocating atmosphere.
Freya let out a heavy sigh, picked up her cell phone, and pushed it towards me across the table with a grim expression. "Do you remember him?" She asked. The screen displayed a picture of a man, and this familiar person was Hendrix.
"I remember him. It's Hendrix," I replied, somewhat puzzled. "Why do you want me to see his picture?"
Freya's eyes glinted for a moment. "Did you just say that you remember him?"
"He's the richest man in the district and the entire country. He's on the news every day. It'll be weird if
dow him," I said, noticing that
Freya was being a little too fidgety. en.swhovels.net
Freya's face froze. "Is that what you mean when you say you remember?"
"What else could I mean?" I asked. I thought for a moment and added, "Well, he's my neighbor now, and his son is pretty cute."
"Neighbor?" Freya shrieked nervously, finally catching the point. "When did that happen?"
"Just yesterday," I replied. I did not expect her to be so surprised, so I told her everything, "He moved into the villa opposite mine." "What the..." Freya muttered and touched her chest in shock.
After a while, she regained her composure. "You mean you've met each other before? More than once?" She asked again. "Yes... We had dinner together last night too, what's wrong with that?" I questioned, face full of confusion.
