After I sent the plainclothes policemen off, I asked Irvin, "Do you have any acquaintances at the police station?"

"I went abroad a few years ago and just so happened to cooperate with the police on a couple of cases, so we became friends."

Irvin briefly explained this and didn't intend to talk more about it. I didn't press the matter and went along with him, "Foreign cases must be dangerous. Now that you're safe and sound, it must be a big relief to you."

Irvin seemed to have thought of something as he cracked a smile and agreed, "Yes, but it seems to be worth it now."

After Irvin had breakfast the very next morning, I headed home to cook him some homemade dishes.

The food served by the hospital was quite ordinary. Although Irvin didn't say anything about it, he was actually a very picky eater. The food from the canteen wasn't his cup of tea.

As soon as I reached the door, I heard a sharp braking. I turned around and noticed a black car coming to a halt by my side, followed by a woman in a silver shimmering dress with blond hair storming towards

me.

As she had sunglasses on, I didn't recognize who she was.

Only after she had removed her sunglasses agitatedly did I realize that it was Andrea.

Andrea was probably used to being the center of attention, and she was dressed in a much more exaggerated manner compared to the previous time we met.

Gritting her teeth and pointing at my nose, she swore through her gnashed teeth as she approached me, "Arianna, you b*tch, why are you still standing here completely unharmed?"

She didn't hide her intention to kill me in the very least.

I'd be a pretty big fool if I wasn't able to guess what had happened.

At the thought of that critical situation, I clenched my fists and asked her, "Did you do something to Irvin's car?"

"That's right. I did it." Andrea admitted it frankly before she raised her voice, "So what? Those who protect you deserve to die!"

Before I could react, she pounced at me as if she had gone mad. She grabbed my chin and forced me to look into her eyes, shrieking, "Why are you always escaping all these disasters? This is just the beginning. Next, I will show you what real fear is!

Andrea pinched me so hard that my face began to ache.

I gritted my teeth and broke free of her grasp, "Does life mean so little to you?"

Andrea jeered scornfully as though

she had heard a joke, "Human life? In your eyes, isn't my life the worst? I' never forget the days I waited to die in that cold prison cell. Arianna it's best if you don't die actually. Then I can torture you for the rest of your life!"

With that, she spat on the ground, turned away and stomped off.

I watched as her figure disappeared from sight and immediately understood what Freya had meant. Andrea was crazy, and no one could reason with her.

I took a deep breath, fished my phone out of my pocket and calmly lodged a police report.

When I sent Irvin some food, I felt remorseful and instinctively avoided his gaze.

Just like what Irvin had said when he gave the police his statement, he was an honest businessman, gentle and wouldn't cause harm to others.

That accident was entirely my fault. Irvin had gotten involved.

When I placed some meat on Irvin's plate, he finally realized that something was wrong. He asked

with concern, "Why are you so

distant? Are you finding it hard to

rest at the hospital?"

I had no choice but to confess, "I'm sorry. I was the reason we got into that accident."

Upon hearing that, Irvin nodded, deep in thought, before he jokingly said, "It seems that this person does want you dead."
